There was in fact a ton of workshops. I didn't see a single delver of secrets in 8 rounds, though I ran into gryxis thieves twice, some mentor, and landstill and two oath decks. I only know of two people playing dredge, my buddy and the guy that top 8'd.

A Metagame breakdown will be completed and all decklists which finished 6-2 or better will be posted.

There were 6 Dredge and 35 Workshop decks in the field of 150.

Can someone mention who was in the top8. I know it was asked a bunch of times, but never saw an answer.  Looked like a great event with an intriguing top 8.
Complete live coverage, including Top 8 players, archetypes, and playoffs can be found on the EC live coverage link below, including an embedded video player of the feature matches/Top 8, and a bunch of photos from each round:
http://www.eternalcentral.com/nyse3livecoverage/

There will be a full report of decklists and metagame breakdown coming soon. Please be patient and realize that Nick and crew need time to process everything. In the meantime check out the sweet coverage above (it was updated earlier today).

Thanks for the coverage so far! What about a final standings list with all participants?

At the moment, we have a list of 1-61:

Getting the full final standings will be a bit tougher, but is likely doable.

Those standings are after round 7

Was a well run fantastic event haven't enjoyed playing like that
Since champs. That might have had something
to do with all the looks I got for playing a straight
Splinter twin combo deck.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again in a couple months

Yeah, I was pretty shocked to see deceiver exarch as well. We didn't play, but we talked a bit about the deck.

Also, are the pictures of the top 16 going to be posted anywhere? I was telling my mom about the tournament and now she wants to see the picture haha.

I'm currently working on the tournament report, which (thanks to Will Magrann) will have a metagame breakdown and the top 16 lists.  There will be many pictures, as I took a bunch on the day, and will post them all in the report.

Given the nature of running an event like this, there are a lot of things that get shunted aside in the days and weeks before the event.  I'm trying to play catch-up with everything while I produce the report.  As promised, I will have it up before the end of the week.

Thank you all for the kind words about the event.  It's always a risk to commit this much to an event, but I'm glad that it was well received, and well attended.  I'm going to look to send a survey out about the event.  There were things I was happy with, things I wasn't so happy with, and things that played out just as I expected them to.  That said, I'm interested in hearing back from the community so that I know what you guys liked, didn't, and want to see more/less of next year.

Finally, I had the chance to experience first-hand the New York Vintage scene. I've long heard such good things about the NYSE. And it exceeded all expectations. This was a great tournament. Huge props to Nick for putting on such a great event, and giving everyone a venue to come together and enjoy each others' company. It was great seeing all of you there. And huge props to Roland Chang for letting me crash at his place, and taking me on a tour of the city (and many of its great places to eat).

I played Frobots at this event. I decided that Workshops is so absurdly good that not playing it would be a mistake. I opted for the version that seemed best at the mirror. I finished 6-2 (17th place :-/). I then went 5-0 the next day to split the Workshop tournament.

Again, excellent event and excellent people. I am very glad I went.

Thanks for streaming this so those of us overseas could partake of some of the action - I watched until the wee hours live, and the rest on the vod on Sunday.  I've never been to New York - next year's tournament might just be the catalyst I need to organise a trip.

I had a lot of fun this event. Nick, huge props. This event was absolutely fantastic. I would have said I had no idea how you were going to make it better than last year, but you did. I am definitely not going to miss this one next year.

The event was an absolute blast. My opponents were all incredibly awesome to play against. I must've gotten some strange looks when I dropped a Mind Over Matter and a Stroke of Genius into play! Smile

This was the first chance I've had to make it to a Long Island event and I'm glad I did!  The event ran very smoothly, a convenient location in the area, the judging staff was great, the vendors (Nick C and Calvin) had a sweet selection, the refreshments were appreciated, and spending a day slinging cards with the Vintage community.  Thanks again, Nick D!

Personally, the NYSE tournaments have been my favorite and most anticipated magic event of the year.  It痴 not even remotely close in my mind.  This past weekend was beyond awesome and I wanted to chime in and thank everyone involved.  Fantastic Job!

Nick, my hat's off to you Smile
