Nothing starts a new year off better then a large vintage event! The room was filled with 62 fantastic players who were ready for 6 rounds with a cut to top 8! No, they wanted more vintage. Cut to top 16!?
This was my first event of 2015 so I spent 2 weeks building and breaking down decks. Do I play gifts now that it is off the naughty list? Do I jump on the boatless delver/mentor lists? Then it hit me, ROBOTS! I am a guy who NEVER plays shops so I decided to give is a shot. . .

MUD-BOTS.

4 Mishra's Workshop
4 Ancient Tomb
4 Wasteland
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Strip Mine
1 Tolarian Academy
5 Moxen
1 Black lotus
1 Mana Crypt
1 Sol Ring

4 Lodestone Golem
4 Kuldotha Forgemaster
4 Phyrexian Revoker
1 Sundering Titan
1 Steel hellkite
1 Triskelion
1 Duplicant
1 Blightsteel Colossus
1 Wurmcoil Engine

4 Tangle Wire
4 Thorn of Amethyst
3 Sphere of Resistance
1 Trinisphere
4 Chalice of the Void

SB.
3 Tormods Crypt
1 Steel Hellkite
1 Duplicant
2 Tabernacle
2 Withcbane Orb
3 Dismember
2 Crucible of Worlds
1 Batterskull

R1 vs Jon " The Beard" Geras. Terranova
Jon had a deck reg error and lost game one due to it.
Game 2: He put me on Dredge and mulled to hate. I won off the back of Forgemaster fetching Blightsteel.

R2 Tom Dixon . Smokestack Shops
Game 1: I am on the play and have turn 1 Forgemaster and chalice on 0. Blightsteel comes in and puts Tom to sleep. GTS!
Game 2: Tom hits chalice on zero and Nullrod. He locks me down with a COW and smokestack shortly after. He shows me a wire and I go to Scoopsville.
Game 3: Turn 1 chalice on 2 gets me to a turn 2 Hellkite. I lock it up with a COW and a wire.

R3 David A. Workshops. Martello?
Game 1: He drops a turn 1 Lodestone. I do the same on my turn. I end up with more robots in play and power through for the win.
Game 2:I mull to 5 keeping a workshop and a COW. We play lodestone vs Lodestone for a bit. Then that turns into Lodestone and Wurmcoil vs Lodestone and Wurmcoil. The COW helped keep his threats in his hand but my life total is very low. We traded Wurms and then a timely dismember, putting me to 2 life, helped me stabilize. I end up with Hellkite in play and that was all she wrote.

R4 Brian Durkin. Dredge
Game 1: We all know how this goes. My turn 1 Lodestone puts in some work untill I get put in the belly of the undead.
Game 2: I win off the back of tabernacle, wastelandand and crypt. I beat him with Lodestone and Trike.
Game3: I mull to 4 keeping a thorn and Tabernacle. I quickly go from being dinner to dessert. Brian wins!

R5 part 1: I sit down and shuffle up for a repair.

R5 pt. 2: Roland Chang. Martello
Game 1: I win quickly off forgemaster fetching an EOT Blightsteel and then fetching a Duplicant on my turn to clear the way.
Game 2: Roland beats me down with a pair of Lodestones with the assist from his COW.
Game 3: I land an early Hellkite. He stays tapped for the rest of the game. Roland plays a wire and metamorphs wire and plays more wires. He did land a Hellkite that I dismembered. Mana Crypt, aincent tomb and Metamorphs put the champ at 3 before he plays a forgemaster. I play a chalice on 0 and then a COW. I bring back a Workshop and play a wire. Mana Crypt wins me the game.

R6 Will M. terranova
I.D

After the last round was over I ended up in 8th place. The top 8 / top 16 issue is what it is. I trudged on and played more vintage.

Top 16: Mike B. Gifts
Mike was my top 8 opponent at N.Y.S.E 2. It was great to face him after the swiss rounds again.
Game 1: I slow the game down with a thorn turn 1. I get Forgemaster out a few turns later and then have to forge in a Revoker to stop time vault. On the end of his next turn I forge in Hellkite. I was holding a wasteland for a few turns and sent over the dragon for 5 damage and nom nom on 1. He uses his sol ring and voltaic key to cast gifts. I waste one of his Underground Seas to put him down even further on mana. He scoops it up on his next turn.
Game 2: I am on the draw for game 3. I was able to land a Thorn followed by Lodestone turn 1. My second turn was another Lodestone. I move on to the top 8.

Top 8: Lance B. Dr. Edge
Game 1: I must be pretty tasty because once again I became a snack for the undead.
Game 2: I win off the back of Lodestone with a Wasteland and Tormod's Crypt lending a hand.
Game 3: Lance leads off with a Divining Witch. I cast Forgemaster . Two turns later Lance has His witch and a Narco in play. I forge in Blightsteel on the end of his turn. On my upkeep I forge in Trike. Ping the witch . Ping the jellyfish. Blightsteel clears the path to top 4.

Top 4: Split! We all were happy to walk away with our cut and a free entry into EE2.

The event was a blast and I will gladly come back for another one regardless of any of the issues that happened.
Thanks go out to Cal, all of my opponents and  everyone that helped out while Cal was in the hospital.
Props to the rest of the top16!

IIRC, you sacrificed a hard cast Wurmcoil Engine to your Forgemaster and getting a Duplicant to take out my Juggernaut.  I could be wrong, though, as I was tilting.  Great job.
