A couple of months out but Channel Fireball has announced a Saturday 5:30pm Sanctioned Vintage

https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07easb3577a5121fcf&oseq=&c=&ch=

I am booked and going, the artist alley is absolutely insane and I'll pay for the whole thing betting against the Mets.

What can be better than some early evening Vintage, cocktails after and gambling until the next morning?

I'm going to be at Vegas and would like to get in some games... unfortunately I'm working the main event and likely won't have much time to play.

What's better?  Cocktails during early evening Vintage and flight home instead of gambling Smile

So all you can win is "tickets" which only count towards unopened booster packs?

They have singles as well. All the GP organizers are turning the prize support into tickets (SCG, TJ Collect, CF), if you were hoping to obtain "value" from playing side events anymore those days are over. If I win I'm getting Dark packs and Rochester drafting them.

I'll plan on bringing a deck or two to gunsling with but we don't get in until Friday afternoon, so Thursday night is a no-go for me.

Not really looking for value, just have no need for booster packs as the only format I play is vintage.  What I really need is more vintage staples so that would be fine, I just didn't see that as an obvious option.

Other than that, anybody want to carpool down from the bay area?  Very Happy

I had no desire to join the nerdfest that was Vegas until now.  The possibility of sanctioned Vintage, potentially drawing some of the Drain all-stars out, right in my back yard, is tantalizing.

Hmm...

I'm not dead set on Thursday, I get in Thursday AM and leave Sunday AM. I could do something Friday but I do want to actually go sit in the sports book and be a degenerate for at least some portion of the time. Anyway the only scheduled interesting thing is the Vintage on Saturday, other than that I'm principally concerned with artist alley and buying things.
