So, once again, I start off the event 2-0 then proceed to end up 2-3. Round 5 came to turns, but after turn 5, I scooped Justin Kohler into the Top 8 due to his dominant board state. He then lost in the Top 8, and gave me his credit for scooping him in. Thank You very much Justin!
As for the deck, I really enjoyed it and must say I love Delver!!!

List for reference:

Gott Delver?

Mana (17):

4 Volcanic Island

4 Scalding Tarn

1 Flooded Strand

2 Polluted Delta

2 Island

Strip Mine

Black Lotus

Mox Sapphire

Mox Ruby

Threats (10):

4 Young Pyromancer

4 Delver of Secrets

1 Dack Fayden

Time Walk

Counters (10):

4 Force of Will

4 Mental Misstep

2 Pyroblast

Draw (18):

4 Preordain

4 Gitaxian Probe

3 Gush

3 Dig Through Time

Ponder

Brainstorm

Treasure Cruise

Ancestral Recall

Removal (5):

4 Lightning Bolt

1 Fire / Ice

Sideboard:

4 Ingot Chewer

4 Grafdigger's Cage

2 Tormod's Crypt

2 Sudden Shock

1 Meltdown

1 Pyroblast

1 Mountain

Beat both my Workshop opponents, with some very tight games, both of which Top 8d the event. Then proceeded to lose to three of the other Top 8 players.

All in all it was a great event and I haven't had this much fun playing Vintage in a LONG time.

Thank you Shawn for hosting another great Event, and to Justin and Brian for letting me borrow cards.

The Stax list seems to be missing some cards.  Revokers and Lodestone I presume?

Though he eventually came to despise Tocasia, Mishra listened well to her lessons on clarity of purpose. Unlike his brother, he focused his mind on a single goal.

True story.  The shop had no Narsets or Ojutais in stock so I did what any reasonable person would do and bought 46 packs on the spot hoping to open both Mythics.  Alan helped me open some and procured the Narset but Ojutai was nowhere to be found, so he needed to be drawn on a Plains.  My kindergarten-esque representation of this great Dragon was anything but a work of art.

Wow. Brian, you never cease to amaze me with your decks. This time even with Ojutai, which I acknowledged that was probably not good to be played at all (specially without drains!!!). Awesome.

But I'm also amazed with Jason's deck. I cannot even imagine how to play it until I see a video o try it myself, but getting into the top 2 deserves lots of merit.

I hope you at least got some good stuff in those packs, even if you didn't get the Dragonlord you were looking for.

TY.  I did.  And then after the event, I used the credit to get more packs and among them were two Dragonlords.  Better late than never.   Smile

Thanks, xouman.  He really wasn't bad at all.  I like 3-5 CMC Value Planeswalkers and Ojutai is much more a planeswalker than a creature.  It might not be the most optimal slot-choice in the history of Magic, but it was very solid and accomplished what I needed him to do.  I could see running him again someday in a different deck.

True story.  I had mulled on the play also to Force, Island, Preordain, MM, Dig Through Time, and Fire//Ice I think.  He led with Cavern of Souls so I Forced his accelerant, a Mox Emerald.  Horrifically, he then played Mana Crypt right into uncounterable Young Pyromancer.  Then a Taiga and an Ancient Grudge on his own Crypt and my Mox I later found.  All I drew were useless counterspells in sequence--Flusterstorm, another MM, I think another Force.  No fetchland at all to cast Fire on the Pyromancer.

Is Jason Koresko a TMD member? Would be great to hear a bit about his mono red build! Some fairly sketchy looking choices (to the uninitiated) - 1 Revoker, Rebs instead of Pyro, Shaman of the Great Hunt, no sol Ring.... I love it! But would love to hear more about the rationale for the build and how some of the more leftfield choices worked out on the day.
