Looking forward to the London leg of this. Shame one of the MKM guys hasn't spent a bit more time promoting this to the Vintage community on these boards (hint, hint!) - there's also a dearth on info on the actual site still, which is frustrating.

Anyway... TC Decks says the winning list is short a card - I'm guessing Mana Crypt? But this Top 8 certainly seems like the kind of big coming out party for Mentor. Sure, there's been a spattering here and there, but 5 Mentor lists in the the Top 8 is pretty big! Does this reflect the Magic Online meta more?

If all the MKM Vintage tournaments can draw this sort of attendance, should help make up for the death of Bazaar of Moxen - and having half a dozen biggish tournaments per year will be a really nice indicator of how the metagames evolving. If the MKM series as a whole could brush up on its presentation/marketing/coverage, into something like SCG-lite, it would be a real boon for European Magic.

I checked quickly the top 8 lists, 1 is 61 cards, 3 are 60 cards, 1 is 59 cards, 1 is 58 cards, 1 is 57 cards and 1 is 56 cards. This seems weird, it might be some kind of italian running gag.

I think it does, as Gush decks (be it Delver or Mentor) and Shops have the upper hand on Magic Online and everything else is already kind of fringe. Despite that I'm not surprised of the lack of Delver, not because Delver is just lesser tier which it probably is not (although there is a very real chance it might be, I wish Wotc would publish the matchup percentages), but because Mentor is still quite new, big tournaments are rare, and flavor of the month is a very real thing.

I wholeheartedly this comes true. Let's all hope as much as we can and see you all in London Smile

yeah, there is missing 4 Tangle Wire in my deck, kind of important Smile

This tournament was a lot of fun, and very competitive. I hope there will be more for the next one in London.

the only downside was, that in the trial, top 8 was given italian boosters as prizes... and no byes for the main event, this made no sense to me.
