Little early this year, it's going to be hot as balls. Also pretty close to Gencon so maybe just take the whole month off for training.

Nick (Coss or Detwiler), would it be possible to provide an explanation for the decision to move EW to August?

The reason for my curiosity is the final weekends of August tend to be very popular vacation weekends especially for those with families + kids. In contrast people's schedules tend to be quieter in October with summer being over.

Several dates were offered, but had various issues.  The August date was the strongest of those offered.  There are always concerns, and people who may not be able to make it, but I hope that I get to see a lot of you guys there this year.

We had 320 last year.  I think we break that this year.  I can't wait.

I am - as always - really excited for this, and appreciative of the earlier date.  A similar timeframe to last year would have had me run ragged with all the travel I need to do at the end of the year.

Attmore, did you get a confirmation e-mail?  Cause I booked mine on Friday and haven't seen anything.

Room booked. This is actually the hotel I stayed in last year, and it's a nice place. I'm pretty pleased to be staying there again.

There will be sanctioned Vintage events available during the weekend, other than the main event. More information will be posted shortly!

I definitely like that we are getting two different ones and I like the art for both.

The Tolarian Academy mat is insane.  This is one of those randomly awesome things that you just don't expect out of an event, and then boom, there it is.

I'll definitely be trading for extras.  I thought last year's Crucible playmat was brilliant; this is better.

Also, I've updated the body of the announcement.

Any idea when pre reg will be available?  I booked my room and got the vacation time set!  I look forward to a weekend slinging cardboard crack with friends on my birthday!  Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Amazing, the Academy Playmat is simply beautiful. Cant wait for the weekend even though ill be sporting a budget deck like last year. Was still so much, as I expect this one to be as well.

Side note: Is anyone thinking of bringing their Old Shool (93/94) decks? I would love to get some games in with the brave few who will!

As for Old School ... I would plan to play some Old School. I heard a rumor JACO is taking time out of his busy schedule of music production, clothing line creation, original art collecting, and scotch sipping to try to get some space on the first day for a more official old school even than last years poolside brawl.

Same legal cards/sets as last year?  I might try to get in on this.

Does anyone know if Library of Alexandria is considered "non-budget"

i.e. are you still in the budget category if your deck runs Library?

I can tell you that in years past it was not on the list:
Budget Bonus Prizes!
Highest placing decks without any of the following cards:
• The 'Power 9'
• Bazaar of Baghdad
• Mishra's Workshop
• Time Vault
• Imperial Seal
1st: $400
2nd: $200
3rd-4th: $100
5th-8th: $50

That was for 2013...I don't know if it has changed; I doubt it has though given that a u sea is typically about as "budget" as a library after all

Does anyone know when/if they will have VIP registration?  I thought it was worth the extra money last year and would like to do it again this year.

Despite it's ridiculous price tag it would be interesting to take Seal off the budget list. Tabernacle is $700+ now so fringe cards with high price tags are also allowed. Seal might help somebody trying to win budget with Dark Depths.
