• Imperial Seal
1st: $400
2nd: $200
3rd-4th: $100
5th-8th: $50

That was for 2013...I don't know if it has changed; I doubt it has though given that a u sea is typically about as "budget" as a library after all

Despite it's ridiculous price tag it would be interesting to take Seal off the budget list. Tabernacle is $700+ now so fringe cards with high price tags are also allowed. Seal might help somebody trying to win budget with Dark Depths.

I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that this list basically included cards above a certain price limit that were legal in Vintage and no other format. It's the only way that list made sense to me! But honestly, Seal is hardly gamebreaking like you said, and fits into one of the nicer budget decks.

If it's about price tag, how are Tabernacles still allowed?

The correct term for the decks without the cards isn't Budget, it is actually Unpowered. I'm not sure why Imperial Seal is on the list if people are allowed Vampiric Tutor and Demonic Tutor, since both are generally better but I didn't make the list.

Last year, it was actually called Budget. It's not simply unpowered, Bazaar of Baghdad, Imperial Seal, Mishra's Workshop and Time Vault were also included. Unpowered prize lost it's raison d'ętre when competitive Dredge decks stopped using Power.

Does anybody know if the vintage start time will accommodate someone who makes top 8 for legacy and also wants to play vintage?

I would hope that if the start times do not accommodate it that the TO and judges do with table placement and time extensions.

I think it did last year.  Legacy Top 8 started @8 and the Vintage event started at 10 if I remember correctly.  I know it doesn't leave you with much time but that's a nice problem to have!

Thanks a bunch. I was there last year but I wasn't playing Vintage so it wasn't an issue. Truly, having to dash from your Legacy Top 8 matches to Vintage is a first world problem that I would be all too happy to deal with haha.

Last year Legacy Top 8 competitors got a first round bye in the Vintage event to ensure that they could fully participate in both. I believe the decision was made on the fly, and they got it right.

It would be really cool to have just one section designated for EDH, cube, '93/'94, etc. A lot of people play EDH but it's difficult to find who does or has time to play at any given moment in large events.

What if we had one long table that was reserved specifically for these other formats? Just a large sign at a table would suffice--no need to even have someone coordinating side events. That way in between rounds or if people drop out they could go to this table and find others willing to spend time playing EDH or something.

Thoughts?

I pre-registered at "PreReg.Me" for both Legacy and Vintage and didn't receive any email confirmation.
Has anyone else pre-registered for this had the same experience?
I am nervous that without a confirmation that I will show up to the event and will be told sorry no evidence of you on the card  Surprised

In case anyone has not seen this yet, here is the link to the event page. There is a lot of info and you can pre-reg from there.

I spoke to Card Titan today and they confirm that the Pre-Registry program hasn't been sending out confirmation emails once you have registered.
They are working on this issue.
The store has the registration list and can confirm if you are looking for assurance.
VIP option should be up today.

Maybe I just missed the explanation, but what can one use the points for which are listed as prizes for the trial?

I believe its a prize wall, which is a bunch of different stuff, each of which has an assigned point value. You pick your own prize. Haven't seen anything about what is on this particular wall, but given my past experiences at Eternal Weekend, the wall is bound to be legit.

Normally, boosters, singles, sleeves, playmats, etc. Idea is to give the winner a choice as many constructed players simply aren't interested in winning booster packs. I trust Boss Coss to knock that out of the park.

Has anyone found a way to register for this event with Paypal? It seems, at first glance, that I need a real credit card to register for this?

I really don't know why all these big events no longer accept cash registration on-site. It's the most convenient way for most players to sign up for these events, really. And what if I pre-register, and then, for some reason, have some issue that prevents me from arriving on the site that day (car problems, work issue, family issues)? It seems wholly unfair to lock people into pre-registering online.

Why can't you pay on site?

I suppose you technically can, but registration closes (both online and on-site) the day before the event. So you essentially have to be there the day before. Not a problem for people booking hotel rooms and staying the whole weekend, but as I'm someone who lives a bit over an hour away from Philadelphia, I plan on just driving in the morning of the tournament. For me to register on-site I'd have to be there the previous day.

I'm always loathe to pre-register for events because I never know if I will make it until the day of the tournament. Anything can happen - car problems, sleeping in too late, work issues, family problems, whatever. I just feel so much more comfortable if I can just register on-site right before the tournament starts (as is the case with the Starcitygames Opens/IQs) unless they are willing to offer refunds for players who pay for registration but don't actually play.

On another note, does anyone know exactly what *ROOM* this tournament will be held in the convention center? I know from experience that it's a pretty huge convention center with multiple buildings attached together. It would be nice to know exactly which Room I have to find so that I don't waste any time running around looking for it.

Off the wall question, but would anyone have room in their hotel for me to crash in Sunday night?  My flight doesn't leave until Monday morning and the other people I am staying with are leaving Sunday.  Refs if needed, I'm not really a random vagabond...  Wink

Also, anyone know if the preregistration email thing has been fixed?

Do we need to pre-reg for the prelim event, or can we wait to do that on site?

Can't wait to compete in this!

How does one check to see if they are indeed registered for the event? I Pre-registered a couple months ago but never got a confirmation e-mail and want to make sure I am registered for the event.

You can log in to the prereg.me site using your dci number as "membership number"
Then click on "event dashboard"
Then click on the little cloud [or whatever shape it's supposed to be] in the upper right corner and select "$ Registrations"
