I will be going to the Origins Pre tonight at midnight and although I have been to many Prereleases I have never been to one recently where you chose a single color. From what I read you choose one color and you get a premade pack of seven cards of the single color then six regular booster packs to make your deck with. I was wondering based on the spoiler list which base color would you guys go with and why? I know what Im leaning towards but not sure if there was some color that had an advantage over the others via good commons. Thanks!

Blue....because blue is the best color of all time, hands down.

If you want to go BG, you are likely in elves.  Great elves in the set, but not enough to make a deck.  Blue gives you day's undoing and other nasty things, which might just be enough.  DU is crazy good.

Besides, the blue in this set has card draw, good sweepers, quality counter spells (by Standard standards), and some sick critters (like the morphling guy).  Jace's sanctum could be good too.  Thopter Spy Network is a win con on it's own and good draw.

Goblin piledriver is good, but no other goblins in the set!

Green is the only color that even comes close and only because of Managorger Hydra and terrastomper (in an elfy ramp deck) or straight on elves.  But I think if you are monocolor, blue is the way to go.

Thank you all for the advice. I ended up going green getting lots of elves and mana ramp and BEEF. I ended up four and o. Got ten packs. Traded in a Nissa and Piledriver for two hundred Serra Angels of various foil foreign and sets. My daughter has taken up my hobby and now collects them. The smile on her face will be better than Piledriver any day Smile
