Smmenen's list is missing Fastbond I think?
Otherwise it looks like a Mentor version of the list from Champs. I have my own thoughts as to why someone might go this way but would be interested to hear thoughts.

Is just the next iteration of the new Grow list. Tokens, counters and the possibility to combo out. I've played the old list (pre-champs, so without the Probe-Therapy pack) and liked it a lot. This has Mentor and Swords to Plowshares in stead of Pyromancer and Ancient Grudge, plus a few tweaks. I like it, though Mentor being +1 cmc and cutting the off-colour Mox seems counterintuitive. Quite interested to hear thoughts and experiences!

Restriction of Chalice allowed me to cut red, and therefore Pyromancer for Mentor.

i don't remember exactly - but I think around 23.
Correction: David Ochoa lost to Eliot Burke in the Top 4. My OP was wrong on that.
Congrats to David on the VSL!

How often does Eudemonia run Vintage events? Might possibly move back to the Bay Area.

Restriction of Chalice allowed me to cut red, and therefore Pyromancer for Mentor. Steve, Curious as to why you don't run abrupt decay? I notice in this list, and the 4C list you ran at Champs you chose not to run any despite being on B/G. Just not enough room or has it not tested well for you?

I wish the guys who own/run this shop would breath some life back into MOTL: http://forums.magictraders.com/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=trueAnyway, thanks for the post. Pre last b/r I was on omni oath and UR the answer..both hurt by b/r losing 3 dtt and losing 3 chalice respectively. dunno what to build. i want to run time vault but doesn't seem to be doing well in a sea of mentor I built grixis therapy but not excited about it currently.

Since I live on the other side of nowhere, I don't really get to play often or really test, but I still think that Time Vault is fine in the current meta, it's just that no one wants to play it. My personal feeling though is that playing fair versus Mentor is just asking to lose. Then again, I am a person who thinks Dark Confidant is still playable. If you want my list, just message me (no sense muddying up this thread). I think it has legs (and I've had limited success with it versus the post-DDT meta), but YRMV.
