I've been reading the reports as they have been coming in.  Congrats Ray on what sounds like a truely fantastic time.  191 participants....damn, you should run for mayor.

I was hoping to use this thread to discover some of the famous and not so famous tech at the tournament last weekend.  I am also curious as hell to see if and how chalice of the void was used.  I heard a commotion about Drop of Honey and would love to discover other bold manuevers.  What tech was effective and why?  Was stifle everywhere and was it MD?  When chalice was used was it effective?  I'm sure there other tech questions to ask....

In my teammates dragon deck Spike Weaver was used to great effectiveness...

Against Tog, weaver was animated via necromancy and won the game for my friend.. in many other showings weaver gave the time needed to setup and utilize either verdant force+tokens or the dragon combo.

All in all a good showing in my friends deck

I saw weaver used against tog. Worked out well. A lot of the tech ended up useless. A great deal of tech was used to hate on dragon and only 3 or 4 showed. I think dragon could make a comeback after this because so few people played it. Only saw one guy with Chalice, and he just smacked me around with Chalice for 1 on the 1st turn.

Can't wait to see how that went Jacob, I've been wanting to use that card for a long time  Smile and I'd like to see how you did with it.

Was bloodmoon everywhere in the tourny?  It doesn't really sound like it had an adverse effect on the field.

EDIT.  Drop of honey??!!  D.O.H [/homer] is tech.

That sounds pretty cool. What kind of build was he running? Mono-B? B/G? B/U/G? Or is it still secret teammate tech? Smile

I was quite pleased with my Acid Rains.
"Drain your Ascetic. Tap U to wreck your invincible manabase."

Oshawa Stompy was built to beat U/r Landstill,
but I swept O.S. with Landstill in my first matchup.

Second time, I was across from Ill_Dawg and mulliganing to 5,
so I got my ass soundly kicked,
but, you know,
playing Ill_Dawg is just like that.

Acid Rain was also really good against Josh O's TnT.
