Well, it's come down to this. I, as you might recall, have posted numerous threads regarding the deck that I've been working on called "Politics". Make of it what you will, but I always thought that it was pretty good. In any case, I'd been working on it for a very long time and took it up to Waterbury.

After winning the first round 2-1 in a comeback versus Welder Mud, I was feeling good about things... and then I lost the next three rounds 0-2 to aggro (what I thought was my best matchup) and became quite disheartened.

I dropped then, and although it was a really good time (thank you very much, Ray, it was truly a blast), I couldn't help but feel highly disappointed in myself and my work, so, for now, I'm going to fall back on a casual deck that I put together a while back (at the time, I assumed it was quite competitive and it was the first deck I brought to a Power tournament). Here is that list...

WhiteKnightsAreBetterThanNinj as.dec (You know I'm right, Ben. Very Happy )

Creatures:
4 White Knight
4 Black Knight
4 River Boa

Draw / Search:
1 Demonic Tutor
2 Sylvan Library
1 Regrowth

Disruption / Removal:
4 Duress
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Balance
2 Swords to Plowshares
2 Diabolic Edict
4 Vindicate
3 Null Rod

Other:
3 Rancor

Mana:
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Pearl
1 Black Lotus
4 Windswept Heath
4 Scrubland
4 Savannah
4 Bayou

...so, for the time being, this is what I'll be playing. In the past, it proved to work somewhat well. Black Knight avoids Swords, White Knight avoided The Abyss (which was pretty popular at the time) and smashes Negators, and Boa is just a generally awesome guy. The fourth Wasteland and the Null Rods are actually new additions (I removed Necropotence due to BBB casting cost and Mind Twist due to it being only effective when I have alot of mana available, which almost never happens, and one Edict and one Swords), and I think they'll work out for the better

Until I can find another deck or work with the one I'd been using enough to make it truly substantial, this is what I'll be messing around with, probably even at a few power tourneys.

Thoughts?

You're Nuts.  I've decided this.   It's this competitive magic thing..  hehe.

IT's 3am.... I hope you're putting this together now.  It'd be crazy, i dun think we knew each other when you had this thing built the first time...

Goodluck, we'll do some playtesting and have some fun.

looks pretty kickass casual

im in the same shoes, not knowing what to do when it comes to competitive magic as opposed to casual. what we need to remember is serious or not, its simply a game, a game not to be taken so seriously as to have made a deck, worked on it for so long and then have it fall apart due to the fact that it just doesnt work anymore.

think, my elfball deck which won 88% or something of the time
it was kickass then and if it were still together (if i had made a damn decklist) it still would kickass. but not in serious T1 play. I made the deck because of my love of channelball and elves and i formed it into something that could be worthy whether or not it was. i contended and had fun, winning two tourneys with it, which is good enough for me, a man of no power Mad

play this deck and have fun while it lasts, its like love kinda....o god tikis getting mushy and philisophical again..........
furthermore if all you want for this deck is casual, say so. if you want to try to make it T1 worthy, say that too.

right now the deck looks quite basic and i think thats nift! because if theres one thing i cant stand, its if every single card in the deck is different and theres only one of each cause theyre all restricted or just not good enough to have more than one in there......phew, long sentence. if youve made this deck, i hope also to playtest against it.

peace Cool

You have a crazy weenie deck going on there, may I suggest Spectral Lynx?

if this deck is made with casual purposes you might face a blastoderm someday  Very Happy

And you say that you are having troubles against aggro.. mmm... may I say Funeral Charm? it's pretty good, it gets rid of pesky river boas, spectral lynxes, it is instant speed hand disruption (and most important of it all: it kills welders)

just my two pesos

ok, i played against this deck, and i just couldnt seem to keep my creatures on the board, nor my artifacts to hold control. the deck is completely insane. it played my ankh sligh and won two games. the pain of seeing big nasty first strike pro-color rancored creatures is just too much for the eyes. the boa is an added bonus, just for those stupid players who refuse to play anything but blue.

quite the deck youve put together. the problems we had in playtest was a few anti-synergies.

necro (he put it back in) and library. really, either one is great. just know you should only need to play one or the other. the necro at most times wins over sylvan, but not in all cases. when your life has been chunked by a pillar deck, youll be happy you chose library. since you seem to do okay with one necro, why not take the sylvan down to one as well?

um...it doesnt look like you have any mana problems, but, i did see the potential for color screw. if it ever poses a threat, you may think about running some sort of multi color stuff. city of brass may be a little to harsh but there are others: mine, paradise, etc.

happy deck tweaking

With some testing (currently, it's -1 Balance and +1 Necropotence), it has proven pretty efficient. It has beaten Dragon, Ankh Sligh, and U/W/b Control 2-0, so I've nothing bad to say about it.

Hey, Tiki, thanks.
