Wow now MorePhling has me all excited about Shared Fate and the new deck it might be featured in.

If only team secrecy didn't exist. Crying or Very sad
2  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Budget] G/W Stompy (an alternative) on: June 06, 2004, 09:24:09 am
Its a fat threat that can be dropped turn one and pumped every turn thereafter, putting the opponent on a very fast clock.
Also, it isn't very hard for Stompy to find another land owing to the presence of Land Grant.

My bad, sorry for the stupid post.
4  Eternal Formats / Creative / Questions about the "new" TMD on: June 06, 2004, 08:46:34 am
Basic Users not being able to post in the Tourney Forum is pissing me off.

Maybe a separate forum can be created for these users to post tourney related items?

* Not tying to sound like an asshole, I'm just a little annoyed*
5  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Origins in June...Who is going? on: June 05, 2004, 06:24:10 pm
Wow I would love to go.  But under the present circumstances (no car, no money, and being 15 years old) it doesn't look like I can go.
6  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / To the big Z on: June 05, 2004, 06:22:22 pm
I agree, its a great place to offer opinions on topics which don't necessarily have to do with game strategy.
7  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Power-problems on: June 05, 2004, 06:17:58 pm
I am deeply sorry for your loss and hope you are able to get through all right.

On a less serious note, I would recommend FCG because it is simply the most competitive budget deck in almost any format.

For more info you should check out the Budget forum.  Just be ready to dig through many crappy threads.
8  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Basic User Privilege on: June 05, 2004, 06:12:19 pm
Maybe a basic user tourney forum could be created, yet stricly monitored for crap posts.  This would be kept in check by the recent decrease in toleration of stupid posts.
9  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / More new Pimpness on: June 05, 2004, 06:07:16 pm
They have one of these puppies at Neutral Ground which I just like to stare at and pretend its mine.

Too bad they overprice their cards enourmously.  They put the Balance at $150! Crying or Very sad
10  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Just a price question on duals?? on: June 05, 2004, 06:02:34 pm
i wouldn't pay more than $35 a piece.  Though you won't get these prices if you go via Ebay.
11  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / [Important] Getting Zherbus Elected to the Next Invitational on: June 05, 2004, 06:00:31 pm
I would support many of the major contributors to this site if they wanted to play in the Invitational.

This could be Zherbus, Smemmen, JP Meyer, etc.
12  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Magic stores and tournaments in the U.S.A.(N.Y. and S.Fr.) on: June 05, 2004, 05:56:56 pm
You can find a schedule for all of Neutral Ground's events at their website

13  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Good Articles on: June 05, 2004, 05:53:06 pm
Just go to Star City and search for all JP Meyer's articles.  His writing is entertaining and always has something good to say.
14  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Ladder Theory on: June 05, 2004, 05:47:17 pm
OMG, I can't decide if this is pathetic or brilliant.

Yet I will admit that it is amusing. Rolling Eyes
15  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / just a price question?? on: June 05, 2004, 05:45:19 pm
They would trade at considerably less if you can find people who don't value their foils that high.  I met a guy who valued his foil MisD at about $12!
16  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Basic User testing team on: June 05, 2004, 05:43:13 pm
It might be a better idea to test the existing decks and try to make new changes to them.

True innovation is very rare in Type1.  Budget players have been trying to find the deck which will break the barriers between power and budget for a long time, meeting with only moderate success.

One of the most useful tasks you could perform for this forum is to fine tune the existing decks that have been created, possibly finding better sideboard options.

Yet is you think you can break the mold and truly innovate, then you have my blessing.

Unfortunately, I won't have any time to playtest much over the summer.
17  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / depressed player looking for a game... on: June 05, 2004, 05:35:46 pm
You could play online.  But if you are looking for live play, i hear that Star City Games holds some pretty good tourneys in that general area.
18  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Magic tourneys in PA? on: June 05, 2004, 05:33:12 pm
If you can get to NYC, Neutral Ground has T1 Mox tourneys about once per month.

You can find their schedule at their homepage: www.neutralground.net

If I did I would go after some of these.

20  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / TMD Awards on: June 05, 2004, 05:22:06 pm
Well, JP for all the positive awards and most of the budget forum for all the negative awards
21  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Deck Protectors? on: June 05, 2004, 05:18:52 pm
You guys should try out Dragon Shields.  They have worked great for me and shuffle very well.
I love them so much; I must have almost every color.  They also don't stick together or get worn down for a long time.
22  Vintage Community Discussion / Community Introductions / Introduce Yourself on: April 15, 2004, 09:43:41 am
Hey my name is Greg. I'm from Brooklyn, NY (near Park Slope).  I have been playing since Mirage with some long breaks.
I have recently moved back into T1, and play at Neutral Ground NY whenever I can.  I am strictly a budget player (only in 10th grade), usually playing Gobbos, Suicide, or Oshawa.
I am looking for the bigger stuff (Mana Drains, duals, etc.) so find me on AIM: schafeman11
