I'm hoping they reprint it one day.  I hate white border cards.  I made it a goal to collect one of every card (by name, not by printing), which then became a goal to collect an alpha/beta combined set.  (I'm currently missing Time Vault... and Wild Growth ).  All this to say that when I make my decks, I'm proud that few if any white border cards get in.  The fact that they're so other option for Imperial Seal is very irritating.

EDIT: vassago is sending me a Wild Growth... so I only need a Time Vault now.

I haven't logged onto this site in a long while, but it's cool to come back and see this sort of post.  You know, Smmenen, I still have all those decks on Apprentice on my old computer at home.  I remember playing Deranged Parrot in that tournament but nothing else.  Thanks for posting this.  It brings back a lot of memories.

I was listening to my roommate teach his girlfriend how to play magic today, and he was explaining how Ernham Djinn works.  It made me think.  It says you can target a "non-Wall" on the card, but now with the wall rules changed to giving the creature "Defender", can you now apply the forestwalk ability to a non Wall Defender?

If Shawn Alexander is healthy and his concussion doesn't affect his play, the Seahawks should win easily.  

I see them playing the Steelers in the final, unless of course Denver manages to play a lot better than they did against New England.  Yes, they gave Tom Brady his first playoff loss ever, but look how badly the Patriots played.  They lost three fumbles, threw two interceptions, missed a field goal and committed eight penalties... They won yes, but they have to play better than that to beat the Steelers.

Also, if they set the precedent of doing something like this it would undermine their list of cards that will never be reprinted... Magic cards are worth money, and the industry as a whole would take a big hit if consumers knew wizards was willing to in effect go against their own word in order to make more money.

The casting cost is really ugly.  Imagine what that would look like on the top of a real card, unglued/unhinged aside.  Nothing should have more than 3, or 4 if absolutely necessary mana of one color (like Phage for example, but even in her case I think that's extreme).

True.  But Moat isn't exactly highly played these days.  Back when Keeper was the deck to beat, Abyss and sometimes Moat were common, but can you really see yourself sacrificing a SB slot for a 2WW enchantment for the small chance you might face this deck?  I mean, just the white component of moat alone makes it hard for most decks to run.

I bought the first lotus I ever had off ebay from someone with 1 feedback (and no picture) for $250... this was of course a long time ago.  I was also very naive at the time, and while it worked out for me, I wouldn't suggest anyone do this.  Since I now have been ripped off once, let these people get their feedback up unless it's a really, really good deal and you're willing to take the risk.

I think my favorite memory was playing in one of Carta Magica's huge tournaments (when Montreal was a major player in Type 1)...

I was playing my pet deck, Academy, and I ran into a suicide black deck... He had the power on the table to kill me either on his next turn or the one after that, so I tried my best to go off, wheel of fortuned, and got to the point where the only card left in my hand was Abeyance, and I'd already resolved one... but I cast it anyways, figuring I had something going that I couldn't stop.  So I cast the spell, and what do I top deck, but Timetwister.  He just looked at me in total shock, as I cast the spell, drew a new hand of 7 cards and perceded to stroke of genius him for enough to win.

Ah, silly combo decks. 

I'll second God of War and add the entire Prince of Persia trilogy (although the second one was much worse than the other two).

I don't know who remembers BD much, but there used to be these Type 1 Tournaments of Champions... there weren't many, I think there were 4 or 5 all in all, but something like 32 people would sign up and we'd play matches over apprentice.  Somehow I kept all the decklists from the 2nd such tournament, known as T1TOC2... JP Meyer played.  Smmenen played.  K-Run played.  Koen played.  I played (obviously), and many others.  I'm posting 30 such decklists. Nevyn's and Meridian's were lost in the sands of time.  This was around the time of Invasion pre Fact or Fiction and Gush restrictions when MonoBlue ruled the day.

I seem to remember making the top 8, beating DerangedParrot in the top 8 and losing to Acolytec in the top 4, but I can't remember who won the tournament.  So here goes...

The first thing I thought when I saw this is it should be a Legend.  Aren't all named cards post Arabian Nights legends?

Well, in that case, leviat, it gets even better because you can use it to screw up vampiric tutor, mystical tutor and other cards.

Weird how they're splitting them up between sets.  Not sure I like that.

As well, life is a resource, like anything else.  Some decks play with 4 city of brasses and they are much more life intensive than this.  I can see a couple fitting in certain vintage decks.  They are certainly a huge improvement over painlands.

I like Trial of Sands.. because it makes me think of Sands of Time, which for some reason I thought of when I saw this card.

I'd say Amy Weber, but more because she's one of the most considerate people I've ever dealt with than anything else.
