You should have just known not to get snarky with me, you've been around the forum long enough to know that I don't take kindly to condescending tones. I especially don't take it well from people I have never even nor will likely ever meet in the real world. Comparing me to a 13 year old only furthers your effort to demean me over a subject that is completely irrelevant, and you should clearly also receive a warning in this situation.
In addendum, I sincerely hope that southern California does in fact fall into the Pacific Ocean after a massive earthquake as that area of the world is primarily populated by morons.
Warning for flaming and backseat moderation. In view of a recent final warning, JuggernautGo is banned. -Godder

that's a few of the older DVD's on my watchable shelf, there's about 400 more in another cabinet that I don't usually dust off unless I want to see them.
Any John Carpenter film is pretty much the tits from that era.
A list filled with failure to read. Even the several of the ones that I didn't bold are marginal cases, at best. Obviously you just have shit taste in movies. That's my opinion of your opinion douchebag. CAN YA READ THAT????? Warning for flaming. Further infractions will result in a ban. Can you read that? -Godderyou make a retarded topic that I take the time to reply to and warn me because I did so. Why don't you go get a friggin job.

Pirated just about every major release this year.
The only 3 movies that stuck out as good were the town, predators, and love&other drugs which I thought was great. My only beef with Predators was that they cast a Brazilian actress to portray an IDF agent when she had neither an Israeli accent or an Israeli look. My guess there is that she probably fucked Robert Rodriguez to get the part since that's what he's all about now with his actresses.
Wall street 2 was somewhat of a disappointment, I feel like they could have given Gordon Gecko so much more to do in it.
The rest of the years movies were just a sort of decent way to pass an hour and 50 minutes while playing World of Warcraft.
Not sure how good black swan really was, as I just skipped to the part where Mila Kunis munches Natalie Portman's box.

Forum software wont change anything. I think it's rather apparent that vintage no longer holds the interest of a lot of people who used to frequent this site.
TMD may have had it's day, but people grew up, got older, moved on to other interests. I've already been E-baying my collection now over the past few months a little at a time.
Getting rid of the legacy forum probably didn't do any favors. Any stragglers that would end up here that would play both formats probably just go to the source for their format information, and don't even bother with vintage any longer.
The financial incentive for star city to quit offering vintage and swap to 5k legacy and standard events in the course of three years also probably helped put some coffin nails into our format as well.
I know I said a few years ago that there is probably only 400 people that actually play vintage in the United States, and now that number is probably 1/2 of what it was.

I know but if you went with what you told me the day of, you fully intended to just turn Around and sell everything for profit. By forcing people to either play out a tournament legitimately or take the prize payout offered, it leaves the tournament runner with options to offer more rather than lose the cards to an investor who has no interest in running a tournament. It's not really a bad thing because running those tournaments lead to a structure where i will never have to pay out of my pocket again.

Similar things have happened to me in the past tournaments I ran, the 4x workshop one being a prime example. Players/Part time suitcase dealers made a significant effort to undermine any effort by me to offer a prize split payout which would allow me to retain the cards and run future tournaments. The end result involved the prizes being bought by someone at a very discounted price where I should have just asserted the right as the person that took the time and effort and money to organize the event to tell those people to fuck off, if someone is going to profit from running the tournament, it will be the person that is running the tournament.
This ends up being bad for the community because for the most part, the people buying up the power/prize cards are just making a short term investment to turnaround and sell them at a profit via ebay/buy lists from other magic sites. It's one of the reasons I have never really endorsed prize splits where power is on the line because the temptation is always there for someone like ELD to make a quick buck off a tournament they are in no way involved in running.
It isn't a big deal if you decide to buy/sell the prize cards at some point in the future. If you won them, it is your right to do whatever you want with the cards. But don't have disrespect for the tournament organizer and do it in HIS store.
This is the same reason star city kicks all the morons out of their tournaments that buy/sell at their events. They put in all the effort to run the show, douchebags and suitcase dealers have no business taking profit out of their pockets.

I'll definitely be there, but I put my money on the rest of New England bitching out.
Either none of the rich kid wannabe vintage players in Mass/RI have cars any more, or they can't afford to pay their chauffeurs on the weekends.
I can already see the QQ posts "omg it's a 4 hr drive blah blah blah." Shut the fuck up, stop bitching about a lack of tournaments in the area, listen to your emo owl city songs on your Ipod touches on the way there with your weaksauce headphones, and try to win a few games of vintage.
No one's life is so important where they can't set aside a single Saturday to do stuff, and anyone who claims to have shit come up at the last second can go fuck themselves.
I think I'll drive myself so I can actually attend the after party this time.

holy shit, I loved browse/digger way back in the day. I played 100% casual back then, but I do remember winning a teams tournament before they even invented 2 headed giant, I played a browse/digger deck and my teammate played black/red carrion ants with mana flares and shit.
props to whoever organized this, it looks like a lot of fun.

I definitely will be running these every 2 months or so.
And yes, for all you scrubs that didn't show up, I gave away an alpha mox ruby in a MUSICAL CHAIRS SIDE EVENT. Because that's how I roll. AND YOU MISSED IT SON.
It was a great time, and this venue is pretty much a perfect location. Look forward to many of these to come.
Thanks to the following people who made it all possible, Chris Hatcher for finding this place, Nick Coss and Jeff Anand for vending even though it was a rough turnout, and everyone else who made the trip to play.
Slops to the bar however, for not opening until after 5 pm.
