Is there another resource- like a thread on here or Facebook group that discusses this event/meta game and information in more detail? Have not really seen anything, I'm sure people want to talk about it.

Once again, a report will come out later this week. All I know is there was a lot of landstill from my experience
7  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: N.Y.S.E. Open III - Power Eight, Workshops & Bazaars Tournament - 6/26 - 6/28 on: June 28, 2015, 02:23:50 pm
There is a mention on Facebook of the report being up some time in the next week.

I also hear Sullivan Brophy won the event with Dredge
8  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: June 28, 2015, 12:06:15 pm
10th place out of 150 at NYSE

Fatestitcher Dredge:
4 Bazaar of Baghdad
4 Mana Confluence
4 Undiscovered Paradise
2 City of Brass
1 Dakmor Salvage

4 Serum Powder

4 Golgari Grave-troll
4 Stinkweed Imp
2 Golgari Thug
1 Darkblast

4 Narcomoeba
4 Bloodghast
3 Ichorid

4 Cabal Therapy
4 Bridge from Below
3 Dread Return

2 Fatestitcher
1 Sun Titan
1 Flamekin Zealot
4 Ingot Chewer

SB:
4 Nature's claim
4 Rending Volley
4 Chain of vapor
2 Serenity
1 Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite

Didn't touch the chains all day, main deck chewers were fantastic. The dredge pilot who won the event was running petrified fields, leyline of the void, and Elesh norn main instead of a fatestitcher package with chewers.

Rending volley was ok. For the most part, I beat containment priest not by removing it and more by dredging and casting Thugs (saccing them to therapy) to recur chewers or narcs to slowly amass zombies. I won a decent number of games with priest and/or cage on my opponent's side of the field, but despite that I'd still want volley as assurance.

I didn't play against shops at all today, which was a first. I played against delver, delver (loss), landstill, bug fish, esper control, landstill (loss), more landstill, then 5c storm. First place was also dredge to my knowledge with a completely different philosophy for his maindeck, check out his list as well when they get posted

12  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Black Magic Sanctioned Trial Event on: April 08, 2015, 01:37:13 pm
Typically the under powered list requirement is no p9, time vault, bazaar of baghdad, or mishra's workshop. I've occasionally seen others added but those are stalwarts.

My ignorance rears it's ugly head! I will be in Boston unfortunately Sad
13  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Black Magic Sanctioned Trial Event on: April 06, 2015, 02:32:30 pm
Any thoughts on awarding a prize to the player that finishes highest with a non powered list? If so, I'm sure I can drag a few scrubs to the event.
Pops

this sounds like a good idea. consider it done.

cheers,
 cal

Uh, define non-powered list. Can I safely assume dredge is outside of consideration?

Seems like a better answer than murderous cut if priest is your only real concern.

I'm going to spread the word locally to see if I can get any warriors to come out to play.

I think I know of someone who is interested
17  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: T4 Split @ Top Deck Games Monthly 1k w/ Terra Nova on: March 30, 2015, 01:12:23 pm
Thank you for the reminder! I'll edit it into my original post right now.  For those who do not wish to re-read: In game 1 of round 5, I had a Trinisphere in play with a Sphere of Resistance.  My understranding of the interaction was that Trinisphere makes the spell cost a minimum of 3 mana, and then the sphere's effect is added on.  It is actually the other way around - there sphere's additional cost is added on to the spell, then Trinisphere checks to see if it is 3 mana before applying it's affect. (Sorry if that is unclear, I am paraphrasing the ruling from memory)

Dammit Brett, you should review the steps in casting a spell/activating an ability.

Congrats on the finish
18  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 19, 2015, 11:00:55 pm
cut does nothing without a grave. Not saying its often but with leyline rip and crypt growing in use its not unheard of.

If they have double hate I'm sad anyway. But your point isn't irrelevant.

I typically side out speed postboard, maybe leaving in a sticher and a dread return for value depending on what I want to cut
19  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 19, 2015, 12:27:42 pm
Im honestly not a big fan of dredge but its not gonna stop me from trying to help those in need. I personally would consider Dismember over most of the kill cards mentioned as it can kill Priest Lodestone Mentor and Forgemaster all for one mana and some (most times) irrelevant life. Hope it helps.

So can Murderous cut without paying life while delving past spheres.
20  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 18, 2015, 04:13:36 pm
Nice to see dredge can still do well at a big tournament.

Do u consider Engineered Explosive to combat the hate? It is an old and versatile tech, I am not sure if it works nowadays.

I have not considered it as it takes 2 turns to deal with anything and requires it to be drawn Not sure if the versatility is worth it
21  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 18, 2015, 12:49:38 pm
Hey for a new pilot, which build would you say is easier to play? (The humans one, or the build you are teching?)

Could you switch out the Ignot Chewer main for Leyline of the Void?

I love chewer so I'm going to stick with them for now. I'm still learning the deck so i don't feel adequate giving advice beyond good luck!
22  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Top 4 split with Shops @ EE2! on: March 17, 2015, 09:25:50 pm
Game three: He leads bazaar, I waste and play sphere off mana crypt I think. He dredges well and hits two ghasts. He plays a gemstone and gets them back, pass. I win my roll, waste his mine and pass. He dredges two narcs this time and the heat is on.  I lose my roll and draw workshop, then play lodestone. He draws and attacks for 2 in the air. I draw a land and play forgemaster. He dredges, doesnt hit more narcs, and swings for 2. I untap, play another forgemaster, and end up forging for wurmcoil. He concedes. Matt is a great player and I was thoroughly worried I would lose.

There was a tormod's crypt in play. I'm awful at this game.

Congrats friend :^)
23  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 17, 2015, 02:44:20 pm
I agree you don't want to be all in on Darkblast, but the cost in terms of deck space is so low to run it since its a dredger that 3 copies is a must.  I don't really understand having them out of the board for this reason.  It should be a pretty easy swap with your 2 main deck gemstone/cities.

I personally like the idea of Abrupt Decay as the secondary answer because its uncounterable, and hits cage/rest in peace as well.  This would require more dakmors to hit the double mana, but this another low design cost card since its also a dredger, and an exceptional card against shops games 1 through 3.

I'm glad it all worked out for you though!

Even with the extra lands, I'm having issues casting Nature's claim against shops, I don't know how the hell I'm casting abrupt decay. Serenity is similarly difficult but at least hits everything ever.

The extra lands themselves have been awesome, increasing my chances against the number of shops in my meta while enabling bloodghast/fatestitcher more reliably.

I certainly need more practice against priest postboard. My one game in the swiss it tripped me up I had a hardcast creature in play to generate the tokens to therapy away the counterspells only to get hit the next turn by a topdecked snapcaster into misstep. As for rest in peace, at least they need 2WW to lock me down and that's only really a consideration out of pure mentor decks. Gifts/bomberman won't be running it right?

Slots to test against priest: Contagion, Murderous Cut, Sudden Shock, Decay, Firestorm.

A pretty nice event to attend Wink
25  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 16, 2015, 11:11:23 pm
Very impressive finish, Matt.

This is really good input. I was on UWR Landstill and my dredge hate was 3 Grafdigger's Cage and 3 Containment Priest (and I'd probably side in an Ingot Chewer). I don't really test against Dredge but you've made me reconsider graveyard sweepers.

Don't get me wrong, priest is really annoying and depending on the clock you've presented I won't have time to do the thug line or dredge for darkblast. I want more testing postboard against priests
26  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Top 4 Split with Mentor at Eternal Extravaganza 2 on: March 16, 2015, 07:21:36 pm
My friend Josh said there weren't any Rituals at the tournament.  Did you see any Brian?

I don't think there was any (maybe 1-2 random ones) actual ritual storm decks. There were a couple Doomsday decks but I don't know how many rituals they ran. Sadly this is a recurring theme Sad

There are wayyyy too many shops pilots for it to be a good idea unfortunately.
27  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: March 16, 2015, 01:28:23 pm
Eternal Extravaganza
3rd after Swiss
6th in Final standings

Vintage Dredge list:
4 Bazaar
4 mana confluence
4 undiscovered paradise
2 gemstone mine/city of brass
1 dakmor salvage
4 Serum Powder

4 grave troll
4 Stinkweed imp
2 golgari thug
1 darkblast
4 ingot chewer
4 bloodghast
4 narcomoeba
3 ichorid
4 cabal therapy
3 dread return
1 Sun titan
1 Flamekin Zealot
2 Fatestitcher
4 Bridge from below

SB in flux:
4 Nature's claim
4 Chain of vapor
2 darkblast
1 Firestorm
3 Serenity
1 Elesh norn

The Sun titan + fatesticher plan helped me close out game ones as non-interactively as possible, often before ichorid came online. Fatesticher outside of the bazaar application has been good to get another body on board to sacrifice and/or tap down a blocker.

Darkblast was my dredge-able answer to containment priest. someone else was running sudden shock to answer priest which I think is worse since it has to be found by not dredging. You can usually clear the hand of missteps thanks to therapy then blast dredge blast off the two sources to kill a priest. Maybe swords to plowshares or even journey to nowhere is decent since I keep bridges I've already dredged. Depending on their clock, you can hardcast thugs to generate tokens and/or get back narcos. I don't think priest is what kills this deck.

Serenity and chain of vapor didn't do much of anything this event (though I did get to bounce an otherwise lethal Blightsteel). I could see trying wispmare in those slots or something else entirely.

For the 3rd event in a row, I didn't touch the firestorm and unsure if it is necessary.

Matchups:
Rd 1: Win over Workshops (dunno which, he died without doing anything) 2-0
Rd 2: Win over Matthew Murray on UW Mentor 2-1
Rd 3: Loss to Merfolk :V 1-2
Rd 4: Win over minus 6 2-0
Rd 5: Win over Forgemaster 2-0
Rd 6: Win over UWr mentor delver 2-0
Rd 7: Win over Terranova shops 2-1
6-1 in matches 13-4 in games

Top 8: Loss to Nicholas DiJohn on Forgemaster shops 1-2

30  Eternal Formats / Bazaar-Based Decks / Re: [Deck Discussion] Fatestitcher Dredge on: February 04, 2015, 04:43:37 pm
You don't really need a card that answers priest AND RIP all at once. Most folks are on the priest plan cause they are running greedy delve cards like dig through time and treasure cruise OR they are running gy strategies like Salvagers combo OR BOTH in the same deck. Or they are running Gifts which requires a yard. In other words, most players are electing to play decks that utilize the yard. You needn't worry too much about RIP. It will be played only fringe I think.

-Storm

Perhaps this is the case and i am too worried about being widely applicable rather than simple very good against the 1-3 cards I'd want it against. It just kinda sucks when I have to play the guessing game against some UW lists over whether they have priests or peace and get the call wrong
