Hmmm... he has 12K of my cards up for consignment on his site, and the site no longer exists. No wonder he didn't return any phone-calls. Whats worse is that he knew I need that cash to make steady payments on my mortgage.
2  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Anyone who's going to Grand Prix–Vancouver Feb 23rd need some help on: February 27, 2008, 09:40:22 am
If you want, you can make a post about this on roguegaming.com (local magic site for Vancouver). I am sure there are many people on there that know the guy personally that you can possibly use as a resource to get your money and/or cards back.
3  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Possibly Useful Land. on: June 12, 2007, 04:46:05 pm
I don't think that it's necessary to have "You can play only one land each turn" on the card.  That's already a rule of the game, so it shouldn't need to be repeated.  I am curious -- is there something about this land that you think is so novel that it merits the exclusion of a mana ability?

I would say that the ability, which might need to read, "If a land would come into play tapped, instead it comes into play untapped" really sounds like something that belongs on a green enchantment.

No, no reason why this can not produce mana, I was thinking of it producing colorless but I didn't know if it would suit the card.

I didnt want this to get abused by fastbond/exploration with lands that produce multiple mana (ie, those new CIPT bounce lands). When I think about it though, that would be a 3-card combo, which isn't all that great.

How about:

XXNoNameXX

If a land would come into play tapped, instead it comes into play untapped.
{3}: You may play an additional land this turn.
{Tap}: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool.

For some reason, this just seems unbalanced, any ideas?
4  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Possibly Useful Land. on: June 12, 2007, 02:12:23 am
Geez..havent been on here in half a year...

Anyways, was just looking through a bunch of random land that im selling and this came to mind:

XXNoNameXX

Land

All lands come into play untapped (this includes your opponent's lands).
You can only play one land per turn.

I want this card to have a mechanic that allows you to play one additional land per turn, but don't know where to start, possibly:

 {4}: You may play one additional land this turn.

Possibly a pile of crap, but atleast its a new pile Smile

Current Wording:

XXNoNameXX

If a land would come into play tapped, instead it comes into play untapped.
{4}: You may play an additional land this turn.
{Tap}: Add one colorless mana to your mana pool.

I would like to incorporate some bounce mechanism into this card, but nothing is coming to mind. Maybe a cumulative upkeep or something along those lines.
6  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Cultural Differences on: November 11, 2006, 04:44:34 am
Talk about life changes in ones life...this sorta inspired me.

Cultural Differences

{U} {W}

If you win "Casting cost/high card/dice roll. etc" you may play this card as an instant on turn 0 (whoever goes first due to pre-game win).

Global Enchantment

When ~This~ comes into play, name a card. The chosen card can not be played this game.
7  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Raiders from Outside of Space on: November 10, 2006, 12:06:37 pm
I think a good ability would be  {3} {U} {U}: RFG ~this~

Sorta like phasing Wink
8  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Scarwood Exorcist on: October 31, 2006, 08:15:31 pm
Pentarch Paladin isn't even remotely white. Some of the cards in Time Spiral are throwbacks to the old color pie. Fledgling Mawcor isn't a very blue card. Even if it were on-color, why bother making this card when Pentarch Paladin already does pretty much the same thing?

I actually got the idea from Exorcist (Dark) and the new guy, ya.

How about  {3} {B} {W} and the ability requiring  {B} {W} {Tap} ?
9  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Scarwood Exorcist on: October 30, 2006, 08:27:02 pm
So, does everyone think this card is good in every way/shape/form?
10  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Scarwood Exorcist on: October 27, 2006, 07:23:14 pm
So I just put an Exorcist in my cube and it got me thinking. Fiddled around with it a bit and I came up with this:

Scarwood Exorcist

{3} {W} {W}

When Scarwood Exorcist comes into play, destroy target creature. If the creature was put into the graveyard, Scarwood Exorcist gains " {W} {W} {Tap} Destroy target creature of the color of your choice that was originally destroyed by Scarwood Exorcist".

1/1

The wording is a mess I know, but the card have some nice flavor Smile

Thoughts?

Current Wording:

Scarwood Exorcist

{3} {B} {W}

When ~this~ comes into play, destroy target creature. Choose one of that creature's colors.
{B} {W}, {T}: Destroy target creature of the chosen color.

1/1

11  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Serra Beatstick on: October 27, 2006, 05:51:54 pm
Make it change your life to 20. Go ahead, re-animate it on turn 1!

That or make it when ~this~ comes into play, and you played it from your hand.
12  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Another Cycle of Mana Fixers on: October 17, 2006, 05:33:01 pm
These should all be "{3}, {T}:" for the same reason that the lairs required you to return a land to your hand.

I wouldn't like to see these things @ 3 mana to activate, that would make them too slow and clunky, sorta like Crystal Quarry....which is a land and taps for mana by itself in the first place. I think they are balanced as they are. I am also thinking of uping the count on them, sort of like the signets.

Any other thoughts?
13  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Another Cycle of Mana Fixers on: October 13, 2006, 04:00:33 pm
I have been away from magic for a while, sold most of my stuff, but I still love to run the odd cube/5-color now and then. A large portion of the Magic population I am sure is in the same boat that I am, no time on their hands to play this great game.

Anyhow, 5 color and cube are all about the mana fix, this helps you get the best of all words, playing more colors = more casual, fun times.

So here are 5 new artifact mana fixers, the names need to change I am sure as it is no longer invasion, but here are the general ideas:

Crosis's Something.

{2}

{2} {Tap}: add  {U} {B} {R} to your mana pool.

Darigaaz's Something

{2}

{2} {Tap}: add  {B} {R} {G} to your mana pool.

Dromar's Something.

{2}

{2} {Tap}: add  {W} {U} {B} to your mana pool.

Rith's Something

{2}

{2} {Tap}: add  {R} {G} {W} to your mana pool.

Treva's Something

{2}

{2} {Tap}: add  {G} {W} {U} to your mana pool.

Not broken in any way, shape, or form, and too slow to really affect any kind of game play, yet they will see play in many casual decks, and all sorts of 5 color/cube.
14  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Lavamancer' s torch on: October 13, 2006, 03:25:02 pm
Maybe try one of these options:

{R} {Tap} Remove two cards... this deals two damage to any target and two damage to you as well.

OR

{R} {R} {R} {Tap} Remove two cards....this deals two damage to any target.

The initial idea seems way to spicy for me.

17  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Cards "Taken" in Richmond on: March 24, 2006, 12:31:01 am
So I had the displeasure of being jacked for 4 foil AKs and a foil FoF (and possibly more cards) at Richmond last weekend. At the end of the tournament on day 2, I bought cards off someone (he mentioned his TMD handle but I forgot it) and at the end of the deal, either he accidentally took these cards back or he intentionally took these cards without me realizing it....I presume he accidental just took the cards as he scooped up all the rest of his cards. I would appreciate knowing who took these cards, this happened at the end of day 2 of the tournament.

Please PM me.

Yes, I know asking for decklists is a No-No here, but I ran the searches on this site and a few other sites and I could not find a CURRENT decklist for the deck. The decklist I am using right now is located here:

http://www.themanadrain.com/forums/index.php?topic=18478.0

I do prefer a 5cc version as it'll be more fun to play and much more versatile.

If anyone can show me some currect decklists and maybe some variety (3cc, 5cc) that would be much apreciated,

Thanks!
20  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: MOTL on: June 15, 2005, 02:40:59 pm
Going for T4 foils there is a BIG mistake unless you're willing to pay something like $8-10 for a foil Prophetic Bolt.

<drunk>

I got your reply on MOTL, I am currently staying with Pucshkin in Hamburg and I am 6000 KMs away from my cards, so when I get back, I will lyk. And no, I won't charge you 10 for a foil bolt Wink.

</drunk>

PS: if you have a list of cards, that would be much apreciated (cards you need anyways).

I will be until Tuesday Very Happy where are you located?
23  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Need a Place to stay in Hamburg + Other places in Europe on: June 11, 2005, 08:43:02 am
Hey guys, me again. Right now I am in Amsterdam...and about to eat some SpaceCake with friends Very Happy and soon I am moving on to Hamburg. Problem is, I don't know anyone there so its not much fun staying somewhere alone. I realized I don't need places to stay as hostels are plentiful, but I would like someone to chill with/play some magic/show me around, etc.

Places I am looking to visit are as follows:

Germany Hamburg - Need someone
Switzerland - Around Bern -Need someone
Hungary - Around Budapest - Need someone
Romania - Around Bucharest - Need someone
Bulgaria - Around Sofia - Need someone
Greece - Around Athens - Need someone

All the other places I have accomadations at, so its not a problem. Travelling alone is okay, but exploring by yourself is different, its hard to see everthing if you have nobody that speaks the local language/can show you around.

Anyways, I thank everyone in advance and I hope someone can help me out, thanks!

I will have net access for 3 more days, so quick responses will be very helpful Smile
