I think the issue is that you haven't given concrete evidence as to why the omission of black is superiour to running a number of restricted black cards. While the hesitation to run a mana base that is susceptible to wasteland is some-what understandable, you have shown nothing to offset the tournament data generated before the June 2008 restrictions which shows the undeniable strengths of gush featuring black. Most discussions that aim to be productive here are result-based discussions detailing match ups and tournament reports. Without being much more long winded about this, I think you'll convince others of the viability of UG Gro when you can enequivocally show that this deck can outperform a more traditional Gush deck with the ability to go broken with YagWill.

Edit: forests explained what I was trying to express more verbosely and without the restrictions of typing on a phone Sad

I look forward to how Frantic Search and Gush will impact Vintage today and in the coming months. Also, I hope to see more B&R Announcements of this nature in the future.

Precursor Golem  {5}
Artifact Creature - Golem, 3/3

When ~ comes into play, put two 3/3 colorless Golem artifact creature tokens into play.
Whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only a single Golem, that player copies that spell for each other Golem that spell could target. Each copy targets a different one of those Golems.

Seems good, not as busted as I thought. Wasn't thinking about the wording on Tinker when I read Golem so eggs on my face.

I'm currently testing various decks for the GP Los Angeles Vintage side event. At the moment, I'm going through the motions on a UWB Fish deck since I'm a bit more comfortable with this version of Fish versus the BUG variety.

Lands
3 Polluted Delta
3 Flooded Strand
3 Tundra
3 Underground Sea
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine

Creatures
4 Cursecatcher
4 Dark Confidant
3 Meddling Mage
4 Tidehollow Sculler
2 Phyrexian Dreadnought

Artifacts
3 Null Rod
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Jet
1 Black Lotus

Spells
4 Force of Will
4 Stifle
4 Duress
1 Merchant Scroll
1 Echoing Truth
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Brainstorm
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk

Sideboard
4 Leyline of the Void
3 Yixid Jailer
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 ????

This is obviously a very rough idea in the works but I do enjoy the hand of Lotus, Fetchland, Dreadnought, Stifle, Meddling Mage, Dark Confidant and Tidehollow Sculler. The explosiveness of a Dreadnought clock is very satisfying. I've tried Jotun Grunt in its place but the effect of an early game Dreadnought is more a solid play. The times Dreadnought is a dead card mirror when Jotun Grunt is a dead card, somewhat. If I draw either card in my opening hand, they don't do anything by themselves. However, as the game progresses, the 2-3 turns when Grunt can do damage while he helps shrink lethal Yawghmoth Will plays or Tarmogoyfs still dont' compare to the 2-3 turns when Dreadnought can win me the game. If it's an issue of Stifle not being drawn on being held onto for Dreadnought, the latter is a bad play in general. Stifles should be out there generating tempo til your small men can win the game. The Dreadnought win is just a fast clock in the face of crawling game where the extra stifles can have some use. Anyhow, any suggestions would be great and thanks in advance.
