1  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: TO Report: Team Serious Invitational III aka Mishra's Sweatshop on: August 03, 2015, 07:45:01 am
Anyone willing to share the Esper Bomberman list?  Are all of the deck lists posted elsewhere?

If you have access to power, I'm assuming you have access to Chains of Mephistophles. And I would play both power and Chains because Goblins can reasonably take the tournament provided you've got a little bit of luck on your side.

-3 Bombardment
+3 Chains

I love this idea!  I do have access to Chains through CHA1N5 lol.  I'll try them out at our tournament in 2 weeks and if they work, see if I can borrow them for EW.  Thanks for the advice!

I've been testing a version of Goblins on Cockatrice that has had some exciting and very good results:

The Horde

Mana (21):

4 Cavern of Souls
4 Bloodstained Mire
3 Badlands
3 Mountain
4 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Ruby

Dudes (32):

3 Skirk Prospector
4 Goblin Lackey
4 Goblin Warchief
1 Goblin Chieftan
4 Goblin Ringleader
4 Mogg War Marshall
1 Siege Gang Commander
1 Kiki Jiki Mirror Breaker
1 Goblin Sharpshooter
4 Goblin Matron
1 Krenko, Mob Boss
4 Earwig Squad

Prison (7):

4 Chalice of the Void
3 Null Rod

Sideboard:

4 Ingot Chewer
4 Shattering Spree
4 Grafdigger's Cage
3 Goblin Bombardment

Skirk Prospector is absolutely nuts, it comboes with the token makers to ramp you ahead on mana. Kiki Jiki is there for value plays: copying Matron for a tutor effect, Siege Gang to amass an army, the possibilities are endless!

As for the board, Bombardment has been pretty sweet against Oath and Dredge and the creature matchups.

Workshops is usually a bye in that you amass a ton of board presence via your token makers.

What are everyone's thoughts?

I'm planning to take this list to a local Vintage tourney in a couple of weeks.  The tourney was set up for testing for Eternal Weekend.  I plan to test the following changes:

-1 Black Lotus, -1 Mox Ruby, +2 Simian Spirit Guide
-1 Ringleader, +1 Stingscourger

The unpowered changes are preference only.  I have access to power for the tournament but would rather see how far I can get without it ($400 on the line for unpowered first =P).  The other change is purely from my experience playing Legacy Goblins... never leave home without a Stingscourger in your 75.

I decided to throw this pile together and so far I've been happy with the gold-fishing.  I should be able to get some games in this week so I'll post any significant findings.  In the meantime, if you guys that have played the deck see any glaring issues, let me know.  Thanks!

Oh no!  Skip SCG, they don't have Vintage events!

I'm planning on packing 15 cards for Dredge this time (here's looking at you Charles!)

I saw this deck at GenCon this weekend (JACO or Mith maybe?) and it looked really fun.  I had never seen this strategy in vintage before... so cool!  I was wondering if anyone is still playing this and if so would you please share your current decklists?  Thanks!

I totally got slapped around by Becker last night playing his Nauseam list.  Its good, really good.  I'm not going to spoil it for you guys but I will say that it isn't like most of the lists posted on this thread so far.  I'm sure he'll blog about it soon, probably after he dominates the next local tourney  Very Happy

I've been playing around with Trinket Mage in my list.  He really helps to grab Key early on, not to mention quick access to the rest of the package.

Has anyone considered working Goblin Assault into their deck?

Goblin Assault
{2}{R}
Enchantment
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a 1/1 red Goblin creature token with haste into play.
Goblin creatures attack each turn if able.

This seems like it could be pretty good if your already planning on running Sharpshooter.

This may be a "stupid" question but I'm not too familiar with how Planeswalkers work... do they have summoning sickness?  is that why you have to pass the turn in order to go busted?

@ Ufactor
The list you posted above is the list that I play with against Becker.  Its a solid list that Eric has helped me tweak over the last month or so.  Having played both AK & DA, I can say that DA plays much better in almost all matches.  To quote Eric "Having DA in the yard is like having Ancestral in hand".  I haven't really tested much against Dredge or Shops, but the deck as is plays like a well oiled machine.  Wink
