As much as I love options, Cryptic Command is pretty mana pricey even for picking two. Isochron Scepter so I can still counter if my hand is running low or if I wish to save cards. How's Trickbind?
I think Morphling is what I'll go back to, nineisnoone. Even though I can counter after I end my turn when I cast it, I eventually don't need it's ability. I main board B2B when when I know I'll be playing certain places. ^^

Perhaps I could sideboard a Shackle or two, but I've had luck with it. If Powder Keg is a bit slow and EE is risky, know of any other options?
I would almost cringe if I had DSC in my hand, but I guess that's what Thirst for Knowledge can help with.

2x Guile 4x Trinket Mage
1x Brainstorm 4x Counterspell 1x Echoing Truth (later on Ancestral Recall) 4x Force of Will 4x Mana Drain 1x Mystical Tutor 1x Ponder 1x Stroke of Genius 4x Thirst for Knowledge
4x Engineered Explosives 1x Isochron Scepter 1x Mox Emerald 1x Mox Jet 1x Mox Pearl 1x Mox Ruby 1x Mox Sapphire 4x Vedalken Shackles
4x Flooded Strand 12x Island Buy 1x Strip Mine 2x Wasteland
Trinket Mage to fetch off color Moxen and Engineered Explosives. Too much land or not enough I don't know. This isn't how the deck is now, but what'll be later on...
Sideboard incase the Shackles or EE are excessive.
4x Blue Elemental Blast 2x Trickbind 3x Back to Basics 2x Declaration of Naught 4x Propaganda

Would Ethersworn Canonist with Erayo, Soratami Ascendant be considered winmore? Back when they went ban crazy shortly before Mirrodin rotated out, they had a deck called Erayo affinity.

In all seriousness, I don't see the logic behind the objection to a store-tied site like StarCityGames.com. I bought from their site and posted in their forums (even though they use ancient phpBB2 to run the forum which ties to one of my points). There's some really amusing members there. Just speaking in general. Magic doesn't really have fan fiction, mostly because few people care about the storyline, and they pretty much recreate continuity every year with a new world.
That is quite true. I created a blog-ish like LiveJournal. http://jura-autumn.livejournal.com/

That's true, but so many vintage decks run artifacts. Surely replaying a card with a casting cost of 0 isn't hard and there may likely be artifacts can you may wish to replay. If someone was wanting to have another version of Sea Drake (I don't know why) then now they can have 8 4/3 flyers in their deck for 3 mana. Anyway I doubt decks that run new card will have a hard time.

So the last week or so I've been looking into various sites and forums to call home for Magic the Gathering. Many of the active forums tend to be official or store related which is something I can't say I like (less community). Others are too basic, lacking in many ways, or are out of date of date web design wise. My other interest (anime and manga) tends to have far more fandom sites, blogs, and polished sites where the webmaster put time and effort to get everything right. How can a game that is so large and also international be lacking so online?
Where's all the blogs with links, articles, views, fan made works, fan fiction, deck lists, and card reviews? It can't be because Magic is an offline thing because just look at net decking and players who play online.
Let's take this forum for example. You have the content and goal right, but the navigation and visuals could be better. Simple and clean is nice, but depth also is too. The IRC, rules, and about threads could easily be linked above where help, search and calender is (the calender link can be remove if not used). Then there can be repeat navigation in the footer, sitemap, previously clicked links with a different color, multi-quote, a logo which links to the homepage, and better topic subscriptions.
Maybe there isn't much to discuss about this game to make a site or blog with it (let alone a really thought out or unique one). One would think more exposure of the game online would show past players the game is still around and new people why they should play.

Eternal Formats / Creative / [Deck] Another blue deck

There are no proxy vintage tourneys in my area that I know of, but there's quite a few vintage players thankfully (some better than others). Quite aggro heavy at times, though.
This is my deck as it is sitting in the deck box at the moment. I haven't played in months.
2x Morphling 4x Ophidian
1x Brainstorm 4x Counterspell 1x Fact or Fiction 4x Force of Will 4x Mana Drain 1x Mystical Tutor
1x Isochron Scepter 1x Lotus Petal 1x Mox Sapphire 4x Powder Keg 1x Sol Ring 4x Vedalken Shackles 2x Skullclamp
3x Flooded Strand 14x Island 3x Polluted Delta 1x Strip Mine 4x Wasteland
I'm thinking of removing perhaps two land (Wasteland likely?) and I wish to have more draw/counters. Daze, Force Spike, Gainsay, Mana Leak, and Spell Snare are possible. I seem to have a strong preference to Spell Snare. Card drawing/search could be Arcanis the Omnipotent, Landstill, Fabricate, Merchant Scroll, Ponder, and/or Stroke of Genius? In a few months hopefully I'll have Ancestral Recall. Thieving Magpie would be possilbe, too, but I tend to Powder Keg often for 0, 1, 2, and 4. The single Isochron Scepter is to help my hand from being burned.
Sideboard could use some updating as well.
3x Back to Basics 4x Propaganda 4x Blue Elemental Blast 4x Energy Flux
Blue Elemental Blast because I find red to be fairly common. Energy Flux could be a possible problem now. I've been hoping the deck would be flexible enough for both a light tourney and casual.

I go by Jura and I'm from the US. Interests being anime, manga, Magic, foruming, and sometimes blogging.
I use to lurk here a couple years ago... I started playing after Darksteal came out and my first cards and deck was the blue artifact pre-con (which had skullclamp, modular creatures, etc.) even though when I bought it...the box was for the lesser green/white precon. I was actually beating people with it in casual games...as sad as that is. In a way it was meant to be since my favorite cards are mostly blue and artifact.
My play style and preferences is casual, yet open and willing to play stronger decks. I've never done a tournament or draft, but I do keep up to with rules as much as possible. Most decks I enjoy tend to be interactive with the other player.
Livejournal, my own site, various sites I have RSS feeds for, Youtube, Nico Nico Douga, and several webmaster forums are my main web hang outs. Hopefully this will become another.
