On Saturday December 7th, we had 12 brave souls make it down to Next Level Games to duke it out in the final Vintage Event before our moxalicious event December 28/29. It was an awesome event and we decided lat that we would cut to a full top 8 just so we could play more Vintage. The Melbourne Vintage League has a heavy aggro focus at the moment and it seems like that it is starting to bleed into our monthlies. We even had a couple of players who didn't want to take the plunge but were still at the event playing league games or just testing with the store decks. I have no doubt that the Vintage Scene in Melbourne has continually strengthened  over 2013 and I do not see any signs of this growth slowing down as we approach 2014.

After 4 rounds and a cut to top 8, our final standings were:

1) Isaac Egan (Grixis Control)
2) Tim Hughes (Espresso Stax)
3) Dan Silver Dowse (Welder Stax)
4) Joshua William Butler (5c Control)
5-8) Luke McCandless (Go-hard-or-go-home Shops)(Metalworker)
5-8) Graham King (Humanstorm)
5-8) Andy Horne (GG Oath)
5-8) Sam Phillips (Rug Delver)

That golem deck looks like a blast.  However, I'd rather play this over Twisted Image.  Also, why that Jace over the good one?

I'm the only other legal target, so I draw 6 cards, and he literally quits Magic.

Terrorists searching in vain for these powerful weapons have the saying "Bill Copes spitteth, and he taketh away."

I lol'd at the Golems deck as well. Then I wanted to toy around with it lolz. I'd love to see a UR splash with some Welders and a card I'm farting around with for lolz as a 1x of in my other decks, Reckless Charge.

Mmmm 3x hasted 6/3's with the Precursor Golem, or throw it on a Tinker robot ftw, or Weld things right now! Ohh and it flashbacks if you need it again. Crimson Wisps is another that will net you 3x 3/3 hasted fellows and the Recall to boot but I think 18 points attacking usually does the trick too.
