Round 2 versus micfarm playing squirrelcraft. 2-0 win
My memory is sketchy, but game 1 we both have solid draws, and he gets his combo out turn 3 or so (maybe 4), partly because I duressed a counter instead of nest (not a mistake). He lost because he needs a turn to make those creatures and attack, and I won that turn.
Game 2 I got a quick draw and he again found his combo elements. I mis-split a fact or fiction slightly, making things interesting, but I again win while he's holding his combo.
Round 3 versus Shaman playing Stacker 2, 1-2 loss
Game 1: I paris into an exploration, double gush hand, find a horn fast and draw into fastbond. I win on turn 3 before he can apply any real pressure.
Game 2: I knew he had 4 caps, so I leave in my duresses for them. I bring in blow (and should have brought in fire/ice #3, although it wouldnt help). He plays first with Workshop, Mox, Cap. I find nothing and he caps away 2 fire/ice and twister. I concede.
Game 3: This time I bring in the 3rd fire/ice too. I play first and keep an ancestral/gush/impulse/twister/fire/ice hand. I suppose I could have mulliganed for a duress hand, but it was a solid hand which would likely goldfish in 3 turns and I will have plenty of chances to find that duress as long as he doesnt have first turn cap again.
He has first turn cap again. I say "again?" , and he explains that he has 4 (as I knew). I think he thought I was suspicious or upset at him drawing cap both games, but I was really more perturbed at him having both a workshop, a mox, and a cap both games. ANyway, I ice the cap on his next upkeep, and search as deep as I can to limit the cap, but he still hits regrowth and 2 fire/ice. I play on for a while (mostly trying to deck myself before he kills me), but he goes to welder recur the cap and I scoop.
