Just like to throw a shout out to all the Orange County players who lost to me yesterday at Don's.
I was gonna play Sligh like I usually do, but I've been playing sligh for the last 9 months, and I wanted to do something fun. You wanna know what made T4 at the tournament, rolling over Mono-U(Joe), OSE(Charlie), and Pox(Pat)? Faster than Willie... Here's the decklist for this broken monstrosity:
4xLlanowar Elves 4xBirds of Paradise 4xBasking Rootwalla 4xFiery Temper 4xBrowbeat 4xAnger 4xArrogant Wurm 3xWild Mongrel 3xLiving Wish 3xBrawn 2xZombie Infestation 1xViolent Eruption 6xForest 6xMountain 4xCity of Brass 3xKarplusan Forest 1xSulferous Springs 1xLlanowar Wastes
SB 3xPrice of Glory 3xFlametongue Kavu 2xSeedtime 1xGenesis 1xWild Mongrel 1xElvish Lyrist 1xCentaur Chieftain 1xPhantom Centaur 1xSylvan Safekeeper 1xGrave Consequences
Yes, this is a fully T2 legal deck. Yes, I piloted it to a T4 finish. Yes, everyone(that is, everyone that didn't lose to it) found it amusing. My one loss was to an Emerald Alice(Chris), and even there, I took game 1 from him.
Well, I just wanted a chance to thumb my nose at everyone, cuz frankly, I'm rather proud of myself. Go me!!!

Brawn seems like he wouldn't do much in this deck, as most of your guys are fairly small, you're probably burning all defenders anway, and the only guy of size is Arrogant Wurm, what already has trample. I'd probably replace the Brawns with more Violent Eruption and the fourth Mongrel. Oh, and congrats.

On a somewhat related note, I was right.
City of Solitude
Color= Green Type= Enchantment Cost= 2G VI® Text (VI+errata): Players can play spells and abilities only during their turn. (Triggered abilities are unaffected.) [Oracle 1999/07/01]
Does not stop continuous abilities from working. [bethmo 1997/02/05] Does not stop triggered abilities from being put on the stack. They are never "played". [D'Angelo 1999/07/01] Mana abilities are prevented. [D'Angelo 1999/07/10] Can affect abilities of cards that are not in play because it prevents players from announcing those abilities. Charlie: Well, you did force one with a Morphling.... Promptly got raped by the Zombie Infestation that followed it up, but you certainly forced it. =)
Matt: Chances are, I won't ever play this deck in a T1 touranment again, it was kinda a joke between me and my friends last weekend, and I just decided to play through on it. I think you're probably right, for T1, extra Eruptions would be better than Brawn. Most likely, I'll be playing Landstill next week, it's one of the few control decks I can play without loathing myself =) I'm hoping to get Dragon put back together by the end of the month. I could finish up Stompy, but I've come to the conclusion that Stompy beats out WW for the worst aggro deck...

Yeah...I was trying to be funny by critiquing a T2 deck. I guess it didn't work. Oh, and about Stompy: welcoem to the club.

Quote but I've come to the conclusion that Stompy beats out WW for the worst aggro deck... Absolutely not! Stompy is one of the supreme aggro decks. You just have to play it in the right metagame.

Stompy clubs other weenie aggro like Sligh, decks that can't be bothered to block like Suicide game one, and control decks lacking a ton of creature removal. If none of these conditions are present in your metagame, then OF COURSE you're going to get rolled like a fat blunt and smoked right out of the place. Duh.
WW is similarly metagame dependent: no control or combo present means that you will do well with it.
As to the deck, I don't see the point of having all those mana elves when your curve is so depressed.

Matt: Sorry, sarcasm is hard to decipher in printed words... It's actually quite amusing, now that I understand.
KirdApe: I threw together a Stompy, and it got mangled by Sligh. Cursed Scrolls are a huge advantage for the Sligh player. Stompy seemed to lose almost every game. On a related sidenote, I also stomped Stompy with a shadow WW(remniscent of the old Tempest area WW, with empyrial armors, monks, and priests), but that was just one match, so that really might not be representative.

East Orange? Is that the one in New Jersey or Long Island? I live in NYC and am always interested in learning of new places to play T1. Please share with me more info on the location of this place.

Alright gentlemen, I'm going to be playing Landstill tomorrow night. Thought I'd give you a heads up, so you'd be able to prepare better. We wouldn't want a repeat of last week =)
Mezzir: Stompy would get absolutely THROTTLED in a competitive T2 metagame. It's meant to play against decks with very few creatures. Stompy vs. say U/G quiet spec would be a one-sided furry ass-whuppin. They have no way to deal with Roar, let alone multiple Roars. Even Tog would probably wreck it, as the regenerating familiars and the burn would slow it to a crawl.
