Sorry about the notice, I just haven't worked in a while, and this one is unusually shortly spaced between the last one.

Someone would have to die for me to get off for this one, and than I'd have to skip the funeral.
Which is a complete shame because I would really like a shot at BB Emerald.
besides I would love to come there and stomp the Mullet.

I should be able to get it off work. I'll probably be there as long as someone from down my way feels like picking my lazy ass up.

wow, chuck actually works? i thought he just spent all day on themanadrain
haha
anyways, seeing as i live a grand total of five minutes from this place i will definitely be there, and i WILL reclaim my title as the T&T champ
EDIT: oh yeah, i've decided that i'm gonna keep what i'm playing secret this time. i didn't think it would matter last time if people knew what i played, but i was obviously wrong when i found myself drowning in the BLACK SEA. so i'd appreciate it if those of you who know what i intend on playing keep it on the low down

My guess is 3/40.
Rough estimate, but I bet the ratio (when rounded) will be right.

Quote (cooberp @ Oct. 31 2002,22:28)I might go to this one. Anyone playing combo? Last one I went to I played Against Combo in 3 out of the 5 swiss rounds I played, however I hear it was a sea of suicide black last tourny.

In my experience, regularly-held tournaments are a little like US Military doctrine: it's all based on winning the last war. From my understanding of Hadley, MonoU was doing well there for a few tournaments, which might explain the rise of Suicide (and, apparently, Stompy) this last time around. After reading some of the reports, I wish I had gone with my Zoo deck.

i should be there as well, hopefully sporting something new... admittedly i was one of the sui black runners from last time, and i had lots of company. does the metagame really shift that quickly? also, why all the hate on mullet? yes, he's kind of anal and smells funny, but he was polite, having a good time, and playing rogue, where's all the animosity coming from?
also, for people from closer to hadley, how many people show up for friday or saturdays where power isn't involved (i.e. tonight)?

The metagame shifts like a monkey in a bucket.
Most combo is bad combo and dragon (which I would assume Enchantress might do well against, with the duresses and swords and things).
We get anywhere from 15-25 people on regular fri/sat T1 events.
I might end up going today.
And Greg doesn't play rogue, he plays what he considers the only viable T1 deck. His "Counter Morphling with power." He has no T1 experience, but shoots down anyones atempt to help him. He is overall arrogant, and before people started telling him to shut up, he had a great catch phrase. Maybe you've heard it. Every once in a while he lets it slip and everyone cringes. It haunts my nightmares.
"Squee is my friend"
I warn you not to read it out loud, you'll experience large amounts of pain.

That guy is mad annoying. Never in my 8 years of tapping lands for mana have I played against a more abrasive opponent. I would rather jack off with a cheese grater and batter acid than spend a substantial amount of time with that guy. ANNOYING.
Hes not good either, but I lost because I fucked up plain and simple. He said something about not being able to find room in his "Keeper" that runs Scrublands and the Compulsion Squee engine.
He runs like 2934 maindeck swords too...and BLAH! Make it stop! I hate remembering him...and to think I have to beat him to protect my own pride. How very masculine of me.
ph34r the mullet.

Not really, you did win that game.
I just made a really bad call, that would have been a 2-0 sweep for you.
Feel free to custom me "Worst Judge Ever" any time you want.

Well, before I could ask for the day off, they went and scheduled me, so now I have to find someone to cover my shift for me. Quite unfortunate. If I can't, then I guess I won't be able to make it. Oh well. I haven't played since your last tourny anyway. Work=busy.

ok, i guess first impressions aren't always accurate (as far as mullet is concerned). regardless, i played in my 2nd tournament since coming back (unfortunately still with sui black) and went 3-1 (2nd place). i found out a few things:
1) sui beats combo 2) filth really doesn't help in the mirror and i'm not sure what does 3) i still need sinkholes, and no, i can't find them for $5
as for mullet's deck, its a blue spine with 5c lands splashed for black's brokeness and white's removal. it also runs the squee/compulsion engine for card advantage. it sides in confinement for combo-esque anti-aggro. i haven't seen anything like that discussed in any topic here; i would like to hear better arguments for why this isn't rogue (i'm not saying its good rogue, but still...)

K, maybe it is rogue. But its so badly constructed.
You probably didn't see those scrublands Zherbus was talking about because he took them out. He lost to B2B so now he runs Cities and only Cities for his multi-color production. I think thats with 15 or so non blue cards.
EDIT: Did you play at T&T? How far away do you live if you did?

speaking about geography, where exactly is this place? I see a number of North East people posting so I am guessing this is in New Jersey.
Could someone please list the State and phone number of the store?

yep, it looks like nick (billtheduck) was retarded and only wrote "Hadley" in the topic, and the only way anybody would ever know where Hadley is, is if they had been there before.
Well, Hadley is a very small town in MA, inbetween Amherst and Northampton. It's' about 20-30 minutes north of Springfield, and 2 hrs west of Boston. Phone # is (413) 582-0310
Well, juding by your member name Lambchop, i'm gonna assume you're from NYC. I'm not sure where the city is in relation to RPI in Rochester, but my brother goes to college there and it takes him 2.5 hrs to get to my house (3 min from the mall where T&T is.)
Well, I hope I answered all your questions, and I hope to see you there next saturday

Thank you very much!
My friend told me he hates haveing the expense of his car now since he never really uses it anymore. I suggested we do some Magic Tournament traveling and he is willing to entertain the idea. He has a hard time getting weekends off but we will see. If he can make it, we can likly bring at least one other with us from NYC aswell.

Niceness! I get to play in this one too, guys. I don't know if I'm gonna run the tournament while playing or if someone else will do it, but whatever, I finally get to play in one of these.
And the Emerald is Beta.

haha Sunday was messsed up
We had 8 people show. 6 decided to draft instead of T2, so there was a two person T2 tournament. They played 5 out of 9 for 3 packs (entry was $5 and they got 2 each for entering, so it was a really good deal).
Sat we had 18 I think for T1.

good stuff, i was also wondering if you (or anyone else) does any extra playtesting or just casual t1 other than fri/sat. i've been out for so long i could really use the practice. more than that, i'd like to meet more of the TnT crowd.

i dont know bout anyone else from the area, but i really only play magic for major tournaments anymore (the reason why i never have my own deck to use) i have a really tight schedule between play ultimate (soon ending, but snowboarding's startin soon too), homework, a social life, and a girlfriend the one saturday a month is sometimes hard to manage
and on a side note, i'm pretty sure belchertown used to be called cold springs or something like it something a helluva lot better god knows why they named it belchertown
