Hi all...Just a post to mention that in the wake of the 58 and then 63 person type one extravaganzas recently held in Waterbury, CT, that there is another type 1 coming soon to a New England State near you...specifically Type 1 with 5 proxies Cortyard by Marriott Clocktower Ballroom 63 Grand St Waterbury, CT 06708 SATURDAY May 10, 2003 ***NOTE THIS TOURNAMENT IS A SATURDAY NOT A SUNDAY LIKE ALWAYS. I EXPECT TO SEE SOME RHODE ISLANDERS REPRESENTIN*** REG 10-11:00 Tourney starts at 11:00Entrance Fee for all Day Events(except side tourneys) - $15 Dopeness factor: Hadleyish First Prize- Beta Mox Pearl(unless we get 70+ people, then it will be a BLACK LOTUS) Second Prize - Library of Alexandria Third - Eight Place Prizes to be determined PLUS...the following side games ALL WITH PRIZES include in $15 entrance fee. I just found out that I planned the tournament for the same day as regionals...just so I can get an idea of if I need to change the date or not...would anyone who planned on coming but is now going to regionals please respond ASAP

HEHEHE...sorry chuck...you had gotten away with no jokes for a while...I couldn't resist...
Unfrotunately...I need to have it on a Saturday for alot of people if it is at all possible...
I may make it May 10th if possible to help all you taking SATs...please...continue the feedback on what date would work best.

Are you going to make them saturday's from now on? Or is this just a test run to see if it will work?
Oh, and any thoughts on doing preregistrations for the tourny,perhaps at a slightly lower entrance fee? It would seem like a good idea, judging by the number of people who have been showing up each time. Also, it would help get rides, and such, like had been done for the Syracuse tournaments. I would think that it would only serve to increase attendance.\n\n

For the record, very few tourneys do that sort of thing, and Ray already gives the new player discount (to first time people AND those who recomend them) along with a crapload of prize support and other cool stuff. Actually Jared...I decided Im at the point where I have a good sized crowd so I am gonna end the referal thing ...the word of mouth pretty much carries itself by now...fear not though everyone...i'm not jipping you all...that money I won't use for referals anymore is going toward better prizes(well...in addition to the new policy of LOA for second that is)...for 3-4th im going to bump up from some foil rares to really good things for example a morphling or even maybe a nether void...5-8 will probabbly no be a dual land/force of will/or 5 packs(instead of 3)...plus all the side prizes would slightly better as well...
