I know someone mentioned having another Hadley tournament sometime this month, and I had an idea for the prize structure if I was to offer it up. It looks something like this 1st - Unlimited Ancestral Recall (Yes i own one now, card is in good shape, only showing slight wear on the edges) 2nd - Playset of Tropical Islands (Only full playset I own currently, all are in NM shape) 3rd - Morphling, or some other decently price(d) cards (NM shape for morphling)
If everyone who would possibly go would let me know what they think of this structure, that would be great. I figure at $15 a person, 30 people would have to show up to make this even. I would most likely use 5 proxy ruling not 10, mostly because netdecking is gay and a lot of people abuse 10 proxy rights. So lets hear what ya'll think.

Three words.
Not gonna happen.
I'm not going to sacrifice my weekend organizing an event to not make any money. The only way I'd make that happen is if I purchased your stuff obscenely cheap before the tournament ever happened. HOWEVER, if you're hell bent on making your ancestral a prize in the near future, contact me and I'll offer something far too low for it.

What Ben means is that we're delighted someone is interested in having more regular power tournaments and especially if there is ample supply of prizes. Although April seems full up, in the coming months I'm sure there will be an opportunity to take advantage of this, and you should probably get in touch with Ryan (or Ben or I) to get more details.

Reducing the number of proxies not only makes me driving two hours to play budget a big no-no, also, reducing the number of proxies is NOT going to reduce the amount of net decking, it will simply cut down on the number of powered net decks(e.g. Slaver, Hulk) and put up the number of budget net decks (e.g. Ostompy, Fish).

I would explain my opinion, but the reason Hadleys are back to five is because the players decided that's what they would rather have. I don't think I need any further explanation until I can generate a large enough crowd to start holding tournaments outside of the mall.

I wasnt asking you to organize this at all, just curious as to the opinion of people about the prize setup. I dont much care at all if you want to organize this or not, I know the reporter and everything else I need to do this myself, and I'm sure that other people there wouldn't mind answering questions if I had any. You're not the end-all for hadley power tournies Ben so you should probably rid yourself of that mindset.
In regards to the proxies, you are right meddling mage, and I think a budget tourney for an ancestral would be more gay than a bunch of powered netdecks for an ancestral. whats a good number to do...10 seems resonable, and I don't think anybody wants it higher than that.
Double post. Fixed. - Bram

It's obviously a nice prize support. I'm sure many people would be interested in taking a stab at the Ancestral for $15.
However, since there appears to be a difference of opinion regarding the organisation and the number of proxies allowed, there's a good chance you'd have to organize it on your own. I think we all agree with Meddling Mage on how the 10 proxy rule will affect the metagame, which by the way does not have to be a problem.
To cut a long story short: obviously the prize structure is good; there's no need to discuss that. If you wanna do the tourney on your own, please start a new thread with the details when you have it sorted out. Alternatively, you could go with Grand Inquisitor's advice and contact some of the guys. Either way, the way I see it, this thread serves no purpose.
I'm not closing it yet since that seems a bit drastic, but I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it deteriorates below the 'who the hell is ~insert random name~' level.
