Village Idiot W Creature - townsfolk- 1/1
Sacrifice Village Idiot: The next time target player would draw a card this turn, instead, that player skips that draw.
When he left home, he deprived the village of its idiot.
This seems to be a pretty good weenie. Pretty straightforward.
Current wording:
Village Idiot W Creature - townsfolk- 1/1
T, Sacrifice Village Idiot: The next time target player would draw a card this turn, instead, that player skips that draw.
When he left home, he deprived the village of its idiot.

Flavourful, interesting. And you trade your 1/1 man for whatevever they would draw...No inherrent card advantage/disadvantage. I think it needs to be , Sacrifice, though. It would feel very annoying to see this pop into play on the first turn and prevent me from drawing my first card. I'm not saying that it would be good or bad, gameplay-wise - just annoying. In fact, now that I think about it, I have a recursion deck that would love to play this guy to prevent my opponent from ever drawing another card. With that in mind, I think it has the capacity to be more than just annoying. In some sense, he's like Chittering Rats, which might merit him costing more. Make it , Sacrifice and/or increase the mana cost, I think. Also, perhaps the effect should read "The next time target opponent would draw a card, he or she does not draw a card, instead." I'm not sure what the timing of a draw step is, but it may be necessary to so much as sacrifice this guy during your own turn to prevent the next card draw.

Did you know that Red is the color or art and music and passion? Combine that with Green, the color of nature, spiritualism, and community and you get a hippie commune of drum circles, dreamcatchers, and recreational drug use. Let's see that win a Pro Tour.

Dawn of the Dead or Oversold Cemetery could make this pretty strong without a . It's an odd effect that is probably more white than anything, however red has Obstinate Familiar, although they're actually quite different. It's more of a Law type card, which is definitely white, and which also makes me think that it shouldn't be called the Village Idiot. Not that I have any suggestions.

Also, that flavor text will never happen. Swearing is a big no-no.

We already have this one: Aysen Magistrate WW Creature -- Townsfolk 2/2 If a player would draw a card outside his or her draw step, that player skips that draw and gains 1 life instead. "This is your receipt for your spell. Thank you. And this is my reciept for your receipt." Too similar or not?

How does this work with the draw step though? Since you don't really skip the draw step, can you make them skip drawing the card? Where's Jebus when you need him?

If you word it right there's no problems. "The next time target player would draw a card, instead, that player skips that draw." Like a forced Words of Waste.

Okay, I like some of the ideas that you guys are bringing, so here we go:
Village Idiot W Townsfolk
1W, Sacrifice Village idiot: The next time target player would draw a card this turn, instead, that player skips that draw.
"His favourite show is 'Becker'" "What an idiot!"
1/1
I don't want to add a *tap* to the cost, because I want this card to be a weenie along with a disruption element i.e. I want it to be able to attack AND disrupt.

Although I don't really have another suggestion, this name and flavor can't stay. Matt might get a seisure. (sp?)

I still think it needs the tap. Now it costs more to set up the lock, but it doesn't change the fact that with the appropriate setup (as little as this and Oversold Cemetery with a full 'yard), you may prevent your opponent from ever drawing another card. Adding a to the activation at least means you have to have a 3rd card to negate summoning sickness, before you can get that kind of perpetual lock going - and 3 card game-breaking combos are fair game.

Okay, how about this:
Village idiot 1W Townspeople
Does not tap to attack.
T, Sacrifice Village Idiot: The next time target player would draw a card this turn, instead, that player skips that draw. Play this ability only if you have controlled village idiot since the beginning of the turn.
1/1
This way, it can attack and disrupt.

I agree. Village idiot is a universal concept. Please note that we try to steer clear of obvious real world references like TV shows, and swearing.
I guess the second version is OK, too, but I liked the first one a bit more. He's an idiot, so why would he be attacking?
For flavor:
'A village is a hive of glass / Where nothing unobserved can pass' - C.H. Spurgeon
or if you want to keep it funnah:
When he left home, he deprived the village of its idiot.
Or something.
