Looks good. But then again, it always did.

One piece of critique: the edges on the (quite amusing Smile)morphling piccie in the top left corner look very jagged. And no,  I don't mean the torn edge in the middle Razz Is that on purpose?

And why is Eindhoven listed under non-germany tourneys? Oh, hang on, never mind.

I really like the new layout.  Great job.  I do have one suggestion though.  The white background color on the homepage as well as the "Recent T8 Decks" page makes it hard to see the content that is "linked".  On the homepage I can't see the options under navigation, Morphling.de Stuff, Content, Related links, ect.  On the T8 decks page the background color makes it impossible to see the deck lists.  I've been tweaking with my moniter's color with no luck so I don't think its just my cpu...if it is, "my bad".  If it isn't perrhaps you may wish to adjust the white background color to make the links easier to read.

As for the the layout of the site I like it much better.  It is definitly more organized and easier to navigate around the site.  I just wish I could read the forums Smile

Good luck with the rest of the page.

Congrats.

Nitpicking:
* Boxes really need more padding-left
* It is currently a bit too wide for 800px browser windows (not everyone maximizes it, you know). That goes for TMD too :o/
* Orange-on-blue is everywhere now. It's old. Try something new. Those shades (in the headers) didn't work too well with each other either.
* Link lists could use more spacing between each other. Either by <ul> or by adjusting line-height somehow.
* The code is poorly structured and thus hard to read.

The rest is fine.

Eh? Why would you care about whether the code is hard to read or not? Just don't look at it. So what if it's inefficient? As long as it doesn't affect the site's performance...

Because if it wasn't, I could provide more constructive/helpful comments (o; When I nitpick, I am thorough, ok? :o)

O.K. lets answer some suggestions:

First let me point out, that the whole thing was finished in a hurry so I could get it done before my exams come up, therefore several things were untested etc...

My code is poorly structured if you only look at the HTML code which the PHP creates, rest assured that my .php files are all very structured Wink

The page is optimized for a resolution of 1024*768 since this is the standard out there, I have tested the page on Mozilla, IE and Opera since these are the t3 used browsers.

Some people told me about probs with Mozilla Firebird and AOL Browser, while I do feel sad about the first, I'm actually happy that AOL users are unable to read my page Wink
I'm still trying to figure out, why exactly Firebird isn't able to fully understand the .css and therefore displays white on white text occasionally, but remember, Firebird is still beta.

The orange on blue thing is something I owed a friend of mine, since he suggested it for the very first version of the page back in 2002, but since everything is made with .css I can quickly change it to whatever idea I come up with. IF I ever come up with an idea at all.

If you're still having trouble with viewing the page right now, be sure to drop me a mail to: bugs@morphling.de with a description of the OS and Browser you are using and I'll try to fix it, if I find some time and motivation to do so.

This is simply not true.

While this is the standard resolution on 17" screens - which again are very common - it is NOT a standard on the www. ANY serious page will usually present its content nicely in 800px width. This is not only because some sit on old 15" screens with 800x600, but some are like me: I have 1600x1200, but my browser window is ~800 wide. Why? Because everything looks better that way. And I can tell you why, too! :o) The length of text lines are recommended to be no more than 70 characters long for easy reading. (You may ask anyone in graphic design/typography about this). Thus, pages with variable width are presented nicely and narrow with short lines (easy reading). Also, the MANY pages which are optimised for 800px (like any net newspaper etc) is presented without a huge white field to its right (or on the sides). Everything is slick and smooth - yay 800px!

The few exceptions are pages where the designer has chosen to disregard 800 width. These pages are -very- few and far inbetween (unless you like t1 heh).

EDIT: I use Mozilla Firefox (the newest version of firebird) and had no problems with white-on-white. Ask the firebird users to upgrade as it is most likely a browser problem and not related to the css.

This is correct, but then again, text length should be fixed not to exceed the limits of comfort. So only if you don't want white spaces on the right of your browser window you will need to set it to 800px. Since everybody I know watches his browser window fully maximized (even the crazy guys with 1600x1200, where everything becomes so small that it borders on unreadable), I don't see the need to restraint yourself to 800px width if you are only expecting specific traffic, like morphling.de does.

However, I actually only wanted to compliment on the layout and the new structure, even if the left and right alignment of the text is too close to the borders of all boxes.
