For a while, I thought that Earl Grey was the champagne of teas. It has now been demoted to the Miller High Life of teas, with Darjeeling taking its spot.

I voted green tea. I like to keep things simple. I don't recognize half the names in that list.

Chai isn't even really tea. It's basically sugar and delicious mixed together. That said, it gets my vote because I don't really like tea, so the tea that doesn't taste like tea is awesome.

How can you have a poll about the best tea and not include 'Iced' as a choice. Thats my favorite. I live on that shit. So I voted other.

I like to drink the "no name" stuff that you can get in bulk from Superstore. I take that, a cup of hot water, about an 8th of a glass or so of milk, and a heaping tablespoon of sugar. It doesn't even taste like tea! but it keeps me up till wee in the morning. Next is green. Then Earl Grey, because my name is Earl so it automatically gets points for that fact alone.

See, the frustrating part for a guy like me is that, while I'm not terribly cultured, good Chai Tea is one of the things I really enjoy. Good Chai doesn't taste at all like the shit you get at Starbucks. It's a much darker, richer, spicier flavor. It's like the difference between apple juice and apple cider (and no, not that shit you get at Starbucks, the really thick and filling stuff).

I sympathize with the Darjeeling vote, but if I'm being honest I have to go for Earl Grey. Bergamot 4L.

I went with Darjeeling since that was my #1 on the list, but Oolong is the best.

Black. After you're sick of all the fancy flavours and blends, a good old pot of strong black tea (e.g. PG Tips) is the best. Especially for hangovers.
Edit: What a great poll! I drink like 18 cups a day.

Green tea all the way! What else will keep me up and thinking when I have to study 500 pages of neuroscience in 36 hours? I'm currently in my 25th hour, with slightly less than 200 pages to go. Watch me lose consciouness in the exam Chamomille = Something your grandma drinks before going to bed :p

It was a tough toss up between Mushroom Tea and Green Tea, but Green Tea got my vote because I drink it a lot more often. I drink the decaffinated kind though, because I like drug use a lot more than drug addiction.

Actually here in Slovakia Chai (spelt Caj) is tea. So I guess it gets my vote. I just drink coffee, tap water (not much Scottish blood in my body but there sure as hell is some) and alcohol.

I didn't mean that it's not tea. I meant it doesn't taste like tea. It tastes like sugar and really good spices.

So for the first time in over half a year, I arrive at this site seeing nobody vote for Lady Grey.
What sad days we live in, when mere boardmembers and moderators can vote Earl Grey like an old woman.

Earl Grey, Vanilla Sugar, a bit of Milk.
Other than that, plain Ostfriesen-Black or vanilla flavoured black take second spots.
Btw, anyone who runs on Green Tea for staying awake, try plain black, cold. That stuff keeps you UP in any pinch.
