Queen

I disagree.  Deacon played bass like a lead weight.

No, I don't believe it.
I haven't seen Beck Hanson mentioned yet, which is strange considering how each new release of his is a drastic change from the last, and his live performances are really memorable.  Gets my vote, at least.

Best Modern Song is an incredibly hard title to fill.  I could probably go across the established categories...
Punk - Jughead's Revenge - Make A Wish
Electronica - Either of these: Fat Boy Slim / Beastie Boys 'Body Movin', Crystal Method - Magic Carpet Ride (seeing as how these are the only songs I can put a title to.  There's another one that has something to do with Godzilla vs. Monster Zero, but I have no idea about the details, and most of my techno CDs have lost their labels)
Rock - Static X: Get to the Gone

Best Modern Album: Richard Humpty Vission - Shut the Fuck Up and Dance

As for older stuff, I can't really find a reason to re-live that musical period.

I will break into your house while you aren't home and disguise myself as a chair. Then I will leave before you get home, but there will be a place at your table where I was a chair and you will wonder why there isn't a chair there. Then later I will leave the chair disguise on your doorstep and you will realize what has happened and you will be afraid all the time. Helter Skelter mother fuckers!

I'm sorry, but Lars Ulrich?  Sad

If only Lars died in that bus accident instead of Cliff...

Agreeing with Rico here. Lars blows. ;[. Like, listen to Lombardo and Portnoy for better modern drummers. Hell, Jordison is better. But Lars? But! Agreed on those songs.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of Maiden's members.

Earlier on this thread I listed Michael Manring as my 'favorite bassist'. Anyway, his new album, Soliloquy, was just released a day ago and downloads of samples of most of the songs are available as .mp3s. (here.)

Just a note about what you're hearing: it's just one dude recording his bass solos live. There are no overdubs or any funky processing to the tracks. It's really quite remarkable stuff.

Flea is a good mention for best bassist.  However, in terms of non-rock stuff, no one tops Victor Wooten, followed closely by Marcus Miller, who has the benefit of having a much cooler name, and having had his picture above the door in the place where I took lessons with the caption: "Marcus! What the $#@% are you playing?!?".

I like all the Dream Theater and Blind Guardian fans in this thread.  For BG fans, you'll know where my username came from.
Oh, and while Demons & Wizards is awesome, I can't say it is better than Guardian.  It is on par with Iced Earth in my mind, but it can't touch guardian.

Guitarist: Micheal Romeo (kudos to the other person that mentioned him)
Drummer: Mike Portnoy
Vocalist: Ronnie James Dio

yeah, those guys are insane. Jaco Pastorius is god damn hot too. another good bassist is Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse.

Nicholas Barker gets my vote for best drummer, that man is a beast on the double kick.

I am with you here. Though I dont like bass players in general, there is a band called Shrum that uses two bass players instead of a lead guitar and that is totally evil.

Best Bass Player: I dont care
Best Guitarist: Trey Azagthoth from Morbid Angel
Best Drummer: Nicholas Barker from old COF, DIMMU and an assortment of other less cool stuff

Best song ever: "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" By Elvis Presley.

Say what you want about vocalists, nobody has anything on Elvis.
