Also, are you guys going to admit to the superiority of France and force me to find a hostel, or will someone put me up for a few days?

It depends, I guess. Personally, I've known France was superior a long time. Nah, seriously, it totally depends on your schedule. You said earlier you were definitely spending the first couple of days of your 10 day vacation period in France, which is a good thing, since I'll be gone myself by that period (not in the country june 30th through july 3rd, and not available july 4th). Do you have exact dates yet? My gf has to work on saturday the 16th and she'll leave on a family holiday the 23rd. She took saturday the 9th off from work so we could have a long weekend or a midweek in some European city. If it turns out to be a midweek it will likely be from monday the 11th through friday the 15th, in which case I can put you up. If it turns out to be a weekend, it will likely be from thursday 7th or friday 8th through monday 11th, in which case I can put you up for a maximun of 2 nights. Problem is, I still have no idea which it'll turn out to be....it's going to be a very weird holiday for me.

Once you can give me some definitive dates, I'll post on our team's boards and ask the guys!

Also, lemme look into some interesting stuff for you to see.

I'll be in France from I think the 1st (day my program ends) to probably the 5th or 6th. Then I'll go to Holland until something like the 9th.

To head into town for the May SCG tournament, Richmond International (RIC) is most convienent, but tends to be on the expensive side also.  If you can get a ride from there, flying into Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) is the way to go.
Okay, it looks like I'll be flying into Richmond International, probably in the early evening because I lose 3 hours. Can someone give me a ride?

Thanks! Also, Bram and others, what cities are you in? Amsterdam, or others?

Bram is in Helmond, which is in the south, and I am in Tilburg, which is also southward. Basicly, we live in the Eindhoven region, which is like 50km from the german border, and like 30km from the belgian one. To be honest, going to A'dam would also be a big trip for us, but, I wouldn't mind spending a day there.

I second that.

Amsterdam is a 2 hour trip for us by train and the nearest mildly interesting cities (Utrecht, Maastricht, Breda) are 1 to 1.5 hour by train, I guess. It's not like with Toad in Paris where you can just walk for 15 mins. and be at the Notre Dame. If you walk for 15 minutes in any direction from my house, you'll be in a field Smile We'd be happy to take some day trips with you, though. We could rig up a nice program; there'd just be some amount of travelling involved.

Travelling is fine, I'll be doing that anyway (and I'll probably get some eurail card). I could meet you guys in eindhoven too or something.

Okay, I'll arrive in Richmond a bit before 11, and Kowal gave me Josh's number to call once I get my luggage. I'll need to figure out how to get to the airport on monday, but my flight leaves late (like 5pm) so if necessary I can apparently just walk.

I still have to look at train schedules and times, but the plan seems to be leave copenhagen on the 1st, arrive in Paris presumably also on the 1st, spend some awesome days there, leave for Holland on maybe the 5th or 6th, either stay in amsterdam or spend some time in e'hoven or something, and then leave the 9th. I can't wait to meet people!

Okay, more finalized information. I'll either leave Copenhagen thursday night and arrive in paris around noon, or leave friday morning and arrive around 10 pm. Then Paris to Amsterdam is only like 4 hours, so I'll leave I think the morning of the 7th to head over there. From there, I can get to Eindhoven easily, since I have a eurail pass. Then I'll leave from amsterdam 7pm on the 9th, to arrive back in copenhagen on the 10th before 5pm.

Please let me know if there are specific times where I should be at specific places, because I'll make reservations tomorrow afternoon for all the high speed trains.

I have a ferry to catch on the 10th, unfortunately. I can't leave any later than 7pm, unless the train schedule has changed--which I'll have to confirm tomorrow.

I can at least be there for the very beginning of the bbq.

Cool!

By the way, do you want to hang out in Amsterdam for the day after arriving there on the 7th? I'd need to check with the rest of the guys, but for me it'd be no problem at all to meet you there and travel to E'hoven (or rather: my house) in the evening or something. It seems a shame to arrive in Amsterdam only to leave for Eindhoven immediately!**

Unlike the highspeed trains, the Amsterdam - E'hoven train is a regular route so you don't have to book that one in advance anyway, so you don;t have to make up your mind right now.

** = Although a famous Dutch comedian once remarked that the only good thing that ever came out of Amsterdam is the train to Eindhoven Wink

I do have a fairly comprehensive train schedule, so I did know that the a'dam-e'hoven train runs throughout the day, every half hour until like 22:30. Wink

Well, I'll arrive in Amsterdam at about 5pm on the 7th, and I'll have to leave from there at 7pm on the 9th. If 5pm isn't too late then I wouldn't mind sightseeing and stuff that day, otherwise I could just head down to you guys and either head back for some sightseeing on one of the next two days, or skip a'dam entirely and just play T4 and stuff with you guys. All I'd do there is take some pictures anyway.

Edit: also, I'm going to be dropping this laptop off with my cousin in a few hours. I'll probably get a chance to check TMD and my email tomorrow, but after that I think your best bet is just to send any information or questions for me to Toad.

Unfortunately, I won't have enough time for a visit to Germany this time around, but I'll probably be back in Europe eventually.

Also, Bram, should I meet you in A'dam and do stuff there, or head down to e'hoven right away? Also, how close are you to the train station?

Sorry to reply so late; I've been incommunicado for the past 4 days because of visiting the Werchter rockfestival. I'll make the necessary arrangements today. If I can get someone to tag along to Amsterdam with me, that would be awesome (rudy: hint, hint...). I'll let you know tonight. If you're gonna be there at 17:00, there won't be a whole lot we can see, but at least you'll still have visited the city.

I live about a 30 min. drive away from the Eindhoven central train station and a 10 min. drive from Helmond Brouwhuis station.
