Hello!
Starting from the bottom and building up is my plan for pimp world domination. Seeing as basics is at the heart of magic I need tips to find the best basic lands imaginable. Is it foil unhinged? Signed invasion mountains? Gurus? I've got the money unless you know something I don't.
My ideas so far:
Foil unhinged, signed or not?
Signed snow-covered?
Plain good looking art?

I use Unhinged just because I have a bunch of them. I have forty-five right now (not including the ones in my bound set.) and I'd like eventually to have 75 - five of each land, so that I could insert them when I go booster drafting.

Personally i like the euro lands very much.
For mountains the arabian night mountain is very cool to play with and for forests i like to use the german plains 'wald' misprint. (has plains colour and picture but the forest tap sign and text)

A playset, I mean like 25 of each would cost more than a P9. I'm kinda liking the idea actually, unfortunately that would mean I can only muster one land type per month.

I'm a fan of beta lands, foil Unhinged lands, and foiled beta/urza lands, roughly in that order.
Foils are cool and all, but the large text, extreme darkness, and spelling out the word TAP means that pretty much anything that's available in beta, is best in beta.
Guru lands are okay, but they're extremely expensive, and in many cases the guy you're playing against won't even notice em unless you bring it up. Unhinged and beta lands kinda stand out on their own.

Are you sure? Alpha/Beta/Unl are only available in English.. French\German\Japanese 4th edition are actually our revised and are considered their beta (Revised pics, beta coloring, black border). I know that, but I do not concider them to be 'Beta'. The border might be black, but it isn't double and it doesn't have those 2 white dots.. |

I enjoy the Guru lands, but I can't see spending $50 on a basic land. It's not even foil for Pete's sake....
I usually use the foil Arena Urza's Saga lands. The Swamps are amazing looking (although the Purple picture would have been even more), cause they just look evil. I only have Islands and Swamps, and only about 7 islands and 5 swamps. If I need to have a lot of basic lands (like in T2 or something), I use all Beta land. I have a set of 10 of each picture of each basic land from Beta all in really nice shape (thanks Ogre!).

The best looking/pimp are BETA Japaness/German "Beta" of foil "Beta."
I personally play with the same ones Xrizzo dose foil "Beta" I dont know how much the cost but I got them for $1 each a few years back.

Arena FOIL Islands (Beta) all the way. They look beyond amazing, especially in multiples. For Swamps, I really like the Arena FOIL Swamps (Ice Age).
