1) Best Poster

DiceManX - His posts are always extremely thought out, and always add a completly unique qualified view to whatever the topic is. I then give a runner up aword to Madmax from his european tournement coverage, and a 2nd runner up to lord of the goats when the posts are actually from lord of the goats (and not roach)

2) Funniest Poster

There are alot of funny posters, and because of that you can all fight over it, and make me laugh more.

3) Worst/Most Hated Poster

LegendOfMagic always made me extremely mad, but he is banned. VGB (videogameboy) made me mad... He is banned... I guess I could whoever posted the last topic in the newbie forum about suicide black?

4) Best Trashtalker

Klown/PTW/Mr. I forgot my ID

5) Best Deck Innovation

I would love to say me for either high tide or Rector Sensei, but those were bad deck innovations... That being said I think it is Tinker/Collossus in everything, and merchant scroll in gifts.

6) Most Influential Figure

When Smennen talks people listen. He rights a 1 sentence post he gets 70 responces. Anyone else rights a 1 sentence post they get the topic deleted, and a warning for bad posting techniques.

7) Biggest Forum Whore

Bram/Machinus... Bram edges him out by posting in a larger variety of forums.

8) Pimpest Deck/Collection

I have to say that I have the pimpest cards in type 1!!! My Ron Spencer altered Infernal Spawn of Evil Yawgmoth's Will has no match, and my Nielson altered FoW's and Fact or Fiction are unrivaled. Besides those 6 cards I am completely outclassed on every level admittedly. I play english foil signed delta, and then they play asian misprint double signed foil delta etc...
(If I new how to post pics of cards I would... If anybody knows how I would love to have my WIll shown online I know some members of community have a few pics of them).

9) "I own this freaking deck" award (The person who has played and talked about the same deck on TMD the longest)

Rich Shay - Control Slaver ... This is a no contest... He has won like 3 full sets of power by now with the deck, and this isnt even close until someone invents a deck, and then consistently destroys fields over and over filled with people who are running his exact build!

10) Person who, without, TMD would fall apart (other than Jacob, because that's obvious)

Well this odviously goes to Zherbus, but the contributions of people who constantly make topics, and give the good imput that cant be rivaled by SCG deserve alot of credit too.

11) "What the deuce happened to ~" award

Bill The Duck... PTW...JP Meyer... Toad (well that video game got him actually)...and the list can go on for a while actually...

12) Best Tournament

Waterbury... Doesnt matter which either... Waterbury...

13) Funniest Single Post

There was a post by JP Meyer a while back (maybe to far back) that went something like this... "How can I make Sui Black better?" JP wrote... You can start by cutting the black.

14) Best Article

The best article was Smennen's original article about why Yawgmoth's Will should be banned. It was a despized article that I disagreed with completly, but it still was very very well written, and had almost no wholes in the argument.

15) Best Tournament Report

Mine (na...) JD's reports are always amazing...

16) Newcomer of the Year (based on influence, posting, and articles)

I would love to say me, but then I would never be able to take myself seriously again (and I already usually dont). I think it has to go to Vroman who contributed alot to type 1 recently (though I wish he would post more on the TMD)

17) Player of the Year (based on influence, posting, and articles)

I would say Rich Shay, because he went on a streak of winning 5+ tournements in a row, and won several pieces of power. However, Andy Probasco made a strong push at the end that would make it a draw. Roland Chang would get the nod, but he is just so quiet (nice but really quit) so he doesnt stand out as much as probasco.

18) Greatest Asset to the Community

Ray Robiliard - Who embodies everything good about Type 1 right now, and also the general communtity who raised likely $2000 dollars of spare cards for Ashuk Chitturi after he had his power 9, and Bazaars stolen out of his hotel room (whoever did that resembles all that is bad about type 1, but the same thing happens in all formats so its unfair to judge that event as a direct negative to type 1)

Ok, time for my answers.

1) Best Poster

Somehow, I don't have an answer.

2) Funniest Poster

Dandan.

3) Worst/Most Hated Poster

I got nothin' here.

4) Best Trashtalker

BrassMan.  He made me think carefully before planning my next move in that Chicago thread.

5) Best Deck Innovation

UbaStax, hands down.

6) Most Influential Figure

Smmenen, obv.

7) Biggest Forum Whore

Machinus.  Dude, that online time is ridiculous.

8) Pimpest Deck/Collection

Nick Voss, cause I didn't get to see Jaco's.  Although mine are pretty sweet too.

9) "I own this freaking deck" award (The person who has played and talked about the same deck on TMD the longest)

Me with Long, Rich Shay with Slaver, and Kevin with Stax.

10) Person who, without, TMD would fall apart (other than Jacob, because that's obvious)

Bram.

11) "What the deuce happened to ~" award

Ric Flair.

12) Best Tournament

SCG Chicago, any of them.

13) Funniest Single Post

everythingitouchdies's post about his divorce.

14) Best Article

Jacob's recent one.

15) Best Tournament Report

My Gencon report, obv, followed by my Origins report.

16) Newcomer of the Year (based on influence, posting, and articles)

Vroman.  Pioneering a new deck and being around to post about it is pretty amazing.

17) Player of the Year (based on influence, posting, and articles)

Based on articles and overall influence, I have to give it to BrassMan because he's got some recent big finishes to back it up.  Holding down an entire metagame like the NE is a pretty big influence, even if he can't win a match in Chicago.  Razz

18) Greatest Asset to the Community

A tie.  Jacob, because this site would have fallen apart without him.  However, Pete also deserves this award because without the SCG circuit, there wouldn't be much of a format for us to talk about.  In addition, SCG.com gives us a place widely read to spread our propaganda, I mean, articles about the format. Two reasons:

1. I vaguely recall you getting some kind of promotion (full user maybe?) without actually even playing the game, only because of your assocation with Toad. But now that I see you post, you're posting as a basic user, so I may have been hallucinating the whole thing.
2. You're basically the only female (there's like one more [MuzzonoAmi] but she never posts anymore either), so you win by default.

jaco most certainly does not have the most pimp collection, i promise that.  Smile

btw, no one can beat us here in seattle, having direct connects from wizards, plus having the game born here = GG.

and to comment on the list, smennen is hands down the most important person on this board, i don't see how it's even a contest.  so i vote  steve for every category, other than #8, b/c i had to give him a foil recoup, b/c he was playing a non-foil in his deck!  :'(  creator of gifts playing a non-foil recoup, that's right folks, not acceptable.

sigh, P.S.

Randy Beuhler is the player of the year.  out of the 6 tournaments or so he's played in, he's won like 5.

Brass Man is the creator of gifts, and I assure you he does not use a mundane Recoup.

P.S.
Randy Beuhler is the player of the year.  out of the 6 tournaments or so he's played in, he's won like 5.
Oh, if we're counting Randy, then he gets his own category: "Best Player".

Out of spite at Jacob saying that I lack style (most likely on account of my crassness/crassity/crassitude), I will not be on that like a cheap suit.

Butt I would like to nominate Leviat for the position of "without their presence, TMD would fall apart" position. Last I knew, he's the guy to call whenever anything on TMD goes down. He's like the bald fix-it guy who lives in the basement of your apartment building that you never see until your toilet clogs and/or you need your pipes cleaned. Of course things may have changed.

Note: To give it a little love, I'm restricting my answers to only the Legacy and Community Forums; despite the fact that TMD is, you know, a Vintage site.

1) Best Poster
Vegeta. Always concise, insightful, and accurate.

2) Funniest Poster

3) Worst/Most Hated Poster
I won't name names, but if I found myself getting really bent out of shape over a trading card game marketed to 13-year old boys, I'd really catch my breath and reassess my reality.

4) Best Trashtalker
No one fits into the boots PTW left behind.

5) Best Deck Innovation
Most certainly, [card]Life from the Loam[/card] and the dredge cards in Psychatog.

In terms of more general innovation, the spell check function in the new vBulletin software is quite techy. Smile

6) Most Influential Figure
Menendian -- even here!

7) Biggest Forum Whore
Is this category for TMDers who suck cock for a custom title? If so, I have no idea, but you know. Yes, you.

8) Pimpest Deck/Collection
Pimpage means nothing to me.

9) "I own this freaking deck" award (The person who has played and talked about the same deck on TMD the longest)
Clearly me and my UWG Threshold deck.

10) Person who, without, TMD would fall apart (other than Jacob, because that's obvious)
In the Legacy forums, Matt.

11) "What the deuce happened to ~" award
Crazy Carl. Sad

12) Best Tournament

13) Funniest Single Post
Saucemaster from the 40 midgets VS a lion thread.

Quote from: Saucemaster
A few facts about lions ...

1) The male lion, easily recognized by his mane, may weigh up to 250 kg (550 lb).

Moral: Lions are fucking big.

2) Lions are one of the most sexually active cats. During a female's estrus cycle, a male and female will mate unabated for 5-7 days every 10 to 20 minutes.

Moral: Lions are STUDS.

3) Like all other cats they are superpredators, but unlike all other cats they are social hunters and take prey too large and dangerous to overpower singly.

Moral: He already knows your midget tricks!

4) Male lions exist largely to defend the pride; excellent fighters (the mane on lions is an evolutionary adaptation to fighting; the mane absorbs bites and scratches that might otherwise be lethal).

Moral: This motherfucker does this for a living, against OTHER LIONS.

5) They can sleep as many as 20 hours in a day.

Moral: A well-rested fighter is a focused fighter.

6) Baby or young lions... face a high mortality rate from starvation, attacks by other large predators, and especially by male lions killing the younger ones while taking over a pride.

Moral: This cat is from the hood.  He's already survived shit you can't imagine.

So they're going against a ridiculously fast and strong badass street motherfucker who outweighs any five of them, fights other lions for a living, is well-rested and oversexed, and is "highly agitated."  Actually, scratch "oversexed", because we all know he's "highly agitated" cuz someone took away his lioness bitches and he's got serious fucking blue balls.  All he wants to do is get his freak on with Lola the Lioness every ten minutes for the next week, and you KNOW she wants it.  All he's got in his way are these forty screaming things in front of him, scared shitless and crying.

No contest, folks.  No contest.

14) Best Article
On the format as a whole, Zvi's Legacy Championship article; from a TMDer: Anusien's StarCityGames.com's Duel for Duals and the State of Legacy.

15) Best Tournament Report
One of Matt's. Mine was pretty frippin' sweet too.

18) Greatest Asset to the Community
Pete, apparently. And Leviat for working the bugs out of the new forum software.
