Ok, here's what I have after talking to Liz after round 7:
Liz is 5-2 Carl Winter is 5-2 Ashok is 5-2 Brassy is 5-2 Outlaw is 4-3
The top tables are infested with Gifts. The little bit of Stax scrubbed out, likely because of the high amount of Dragon that was present. Liz told me that Dragon mostly filtered itself down as well. She also said that no other notables were at the top tables.
Oh, 186 people showed up.
More updates as I get them.

Oh, yeah, Meandeck is winning the Team Challenge. All I have to say to those who thought we fell off is "Bag it!"

Just got off the phone with Liz again:
Brassy lost his last round, so he's likely out Cross (Kowal thinks it was him, it was one of hte GGers) is in Ashok beat Liz in the last round, so Ashok should be in at 6-2
The Mountains deck somehow managed to beat like all the Gifts players, so I think it made T8. If not T8, it at least had a good showing.
I'll try to get a complete T8 profile when it comes out.

There's at least 2 2 guys from montreal in the top-16. One plays Dragon, the other plays control slaver.

I haven't got much of an update, but I was told that the T16 was "a bunch of random dudes." No one from Meandeck made it in, and I interpret the former statement to mean that Brassy, Outlaw, and crew didn't make it in either.

This just in!
Top Sixteen features none other than Dave Feinstein himself. Playing, as always, red/green beats.
To Dave Feinstein!

the 2 decks I referred to earlier made top-8, both in the 5-8 quadrant. They got to split 600$ amongst the 4 guys.

Here's some tidbits I was able to pick up:
There was a Salvagers Oath in the T16. Eli Kassis made it (with beats me what).
Couple Stax, decent amount of Slaver.
That's all I got for now.

2 of the Canadians made it to the 5th through 8th bracket, along with yours trully - ending up in 1st after the swiss with an undefeated record.
I beat Feinstein in the T16 in a pleasant karmic twist. Eli took me out of the running, and moved onto T4.

March of the Machines stax took home the title. There was all of 1 workshop deck in the top 16. I was seeded 11th after 6-1-1 record and beat U/R fish, canadian Dragon, jigglypuff's gifts in top 4 and then crossman wilken's gifts deck in the final. Dave feinstein whooped outlaw's ass with a kird ape in a feature match. it will be great when it gets on the forum. And anyone that doesn't run library in stax is a jackass.

Now we need lists.
Before everyone clammors for lists, it usually takes Ray a good 1/2 week to a week to get the top 16 lists up because he has a lot of misc TD stuff to do and wrap up, in addition to his actual job. Ray always posts everything, just give him time.

I was second day 1.
I beat the mountains deck sometime during round 5 or 6, so not all the gifts players lost to it.
In top 16 I beat monoblue, then one of the Canadians playing cs, then Eli Kassis playing his gifts deck, then lost to Travis. Interestingly, I lost the first game in every match in the top 16, but managed to come back and win 2 and 3 to get into finals. I beat travis game 1, but was totally out of game 2, game 3 kept a sketchy hand which had double force and a number of outs, but when I brainstormed I did not find the mana-sources I wanted, and then proceeded to get library owned by travis. I got a beta time walk though, which is really sweet.
My list of the top of my head so prob some errors:
GG severance belcher to appease those who want lists –it has some other dumb name involving tacos or taco meat, ask my teammates
2 deltas 2 strands 2 seas 4 volcs 2 islands 1 snowcovered island 1 library 1 tolarian 1 lotus 5 mox 1 crypt 1 vault 1 sol ring 1 petal 1 engineered explosives
4 drain 4 force 4 brainstorm 4 tfk 2 gifts 1 ancestral 1 mystical
1 time walk 1 tinker 1 severance 1 demonic 1 yawg’s 1 recoup
3 welder 2 shaman 1 pentavus
1 slaver 1 belcher
maybe tournament report, but not for a couple days…I’m running on like 7 hours of sleep total for the weekend.
Brassman of GGs split in the finals of the T4 tournament as well.

RAWR!!! Taco Machine wins Beta Power!!! Cross - awesome job yesterday and congrats on the excellent finish, and of course congrats to Travis for winning with another awful deck (just kidding...but not really). GGs can thank Outlaw for making another good metagame call, unfortunately Andy, Outlaw, and myself got paired up with too much random shit instead of the infinite Dragon, Stax, and FCG lists that were floating around. Last but DEFINITELY not least, thanks to Ray for running yet another incredible tournament...and the free Mana Drain was pretty sweet too PS. I'm pretty sure Cross got the list right card-for-card, in case anyone cares.

GG's yet again take major positions in the top 8 spots in major tourneys. Funny how you think were not a real team?

Ill post decklist here since I am banned from fucking forum thread starting or something.
heres a deck to be laughed at, enjoy:
4 mishra's workshop 2 wasteland 1 strip mine 1 library of alexandria 4 gemstone mine 3 city of brass 1 adarkar wastes 1 tolarian academy 1 barbarian ring 1 mana crypt 1 mox emerald 1 mox sapphire 1 mox jet 1 mox ruby 1 mox pearl 1 sol ring 1 mana vault 1 black lotus 1 sundering titan 1 mind's eye 1 possessed portal 1 duplicant 1 trinisphere 3 sphere of resistance 4 smokestack 2 crucible of worlds 2 null rod 4 thirst for knowledge 3 goblin welder 1 enlightened tutor 1 crop rotation 1 gorilla shaman 1 balance 1 fastbond 1 ancestral recall 1 tinker 1 fact or fiction 1 time walk 1 march of the machines
side: 4 blue elemental blast 3 swords to plowshares 2 disenchants 2 ray of revelation 2 sacred ground 2 choke
in the 8 rounds of swiss i got paired against round 1:oath round 2:cant remember what i played against here round 3:mono red uba stax round 4:tog with red round 5:control slaver, my 1 loss in swiss round 6:dragon round 7:dragon round 8:mono blue control we ID
Having to play only 2 drain decks in swiss was the biggest part of why the deck did well. Of all the gifts decks around the top tables I didn't have to face any until the top 4.
The hardest matchup was probably uba stax, i got chaliced for 0 first game because he won the die roll, i got caught holding 3 moxes. I realize why I stopped playing that crap card chalice because it was a dead card the 80% of the time you aren't playing first and don't have one in your opening hand. I did get to side out my null rods, because he kept them in game 2 and 3.
top 16 i had to play U/R fish, Dragon, welderless gifts, and gifts with welder in finals.
March of the machines was the shit every time I dropped it. I finished 8 games right away the turn it hit the board. It was a great hoser in my top 4 match, he was one turn from yawg will and he had 3 moxes in play and I baited with tinker and it got forced and then played march and killed one of his land. March of the machines just says:yawgmoth's will = dead card unless you got lucky and have more then 3 land in play.
Library of alexandria was amazing, having to slow play your hand to keep library active might not be the best strategy for stax, but every time I had first turn library I won.
I only got around to locking the board up with possessed portal 2 games, but this card is like an auto win if you have at least 5 permanents and some cards or a crucible.
I played mind's eye first turn 4 times, it got forced 3. This card wins games haha, and it beats for 5. my hand in game 1 of final match was lotus mana crypt mox mox smokestack smokestack minds eye and I kept it anyway, but I made a mistake and went straight for minds eye first turn when I should have played 1 of my smokestacks into force of will instead then resolved minds eye turn 2.
The sideboard was perfect except for the chokes. I'm not sure what else I would bring in in their place, but I only sided them in once, and they got force of willed immediately. I'd rather blow their land up then give them time to work around a choke. Blue blast was the mvp of the day, it hosed dragon, it hosed gifts, it hosed uba stax, everyone and their cousin sided in rack and ruin.

Just to let everyone know, The Mountains Win Again took 20th and 22nd place. The other member of the team playing it didn't do as well due to keeping sketchy hands. We are slightly re-tooling it for a post RAV environment.
Day 2, Genju's faced off against each other at the top tables in at least one round.

I do indeed have a busy schedule outside of Magic including teaching and finishing my Master's Degree. At any rate, I will try to get decklists up within the week. As some additional notes before I write a whole tourney report: 1.) Congrats to Travis for winning the main event, Eli for winning Day 2, and all other winners of events during the weekend. 2.) Each Waterbury playmat features cards from the previous winners deck. Does this mean that the next mat will feature artwork from LOA, March of the Machines, Mind's Eye and Possessed Portal? 3.) The donations for Ashok were absolutely amazing....you people rock. More to come
