I'm usually more of a passive observer to TMD, but this is a subject which I am unable to find info on and has actually rattled me significantly. I'm also not sure that I posted this in the right forum, but a mod can move it if necessary.
On MWS today, I played a deck that I came up with myself against some guy whose game was titled "Non-archtypes only" or something like that. Since I derived the deck myself, I figured I was good in that regard. Well, the guy was playing some psycogenic probe amagamation that allowed him to search my library on numerous occassions, and, after I had locked down his board with Chalices, he told me that my deck mirrored the winner of 2002 type one worlds, and that it was a "net deck." I didn't play type one in 2002 (started mid '03) and I have no idea if his claim is true, so I was hoping someone who has more information can enlighten me. This was the deck I was playing:
/ Lands 6 Forest 7 Plains 4 Savannah 4 Wasteland 4 Windswept Heath
// Spells 3 Armageddon 1 Balance 4 Chalice of the Void 4 Crucible of Worlds 4 Decree of Justice 1 Enlightened Tutor 4 Exploration 2 Horn of Greed 4 Living Wish 2 Mirari's Wake 4 Moat 2 Wrath of God
// Sideboard SB: 3 Academy Rector SB: 1 Anurid Brushhopper SB: 3 Circle of Protection: Red SB: 4 Disenchant SB: 1 Rune of Protection: Red SB: 1 Strip Mine SB: 1 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale SB: 1 Wall of Blossoms
Thanks in advance.

Not even close. Type 1 2002 Worlds was won by Tog. However, Wake may have won the actual World Championships (you know, the whole Pro tour thing) in 2002.

In 2002, the winning T2 deck was Tog. It was also Tog in PT world championships. Â This was also before onslaught block came out, so the following cards COULDN'T have been in the deck even if you netdecked it. Even if this is post onslaught block, the deck is completely different with crucibles and chalices
4x Chalice of the Void 4x Crucible of Worlds 4x Decree of Justice
So i don't know what your opponent is talking about, probably just a sore loser.
BTW, you might want to try adding fastbond and 1-2 zuran orbs, as
Fastbond/Zuran Orb/Crucible
gives you infinte life, using exploration with them gives you lots of life You may also want to run strip mine and wasteland, so you can nuke 2+ lands a turn with crucible in

Actually, Tog won in 2003, slaver in 2004 and stax in 2005. There was no Type One worlds in 2002. He probably meant regular worlds.

Thanks alot guys. By the way, the deck's engine is Living Wish for strip mine, backed by crucible and a couple Exploration to get an early lock. I don't think I mentioned that. Wake and Decree are in there just for my eventual win.

The infinite mana combo would probably go along real well with Decree of Justice, though.

http://www.thehardlessons.com/I will break into your house while you aren't home and disguise myself as a chair. Then I will leave before you get home, but there will be a place at your table where I was a chair and you will wonder why there isn't a chair there. Then later I will leave the chair disguise on your doorstep and you will realize what has happened and you will be afraid all the time. Helter Skelter mother fuckers!

Now that I've kind of shown the world my idea, I guess I'll post it in one of the forums, so I'll add a fastbond and two zorb I think, but I'm not sure what to cut, and i win pretty consistantly without the combo, though i will keep it in mind as i think four moat are overkill.
