This thing may justify Team Canada and the Michigan crew coming out to this one.  I'll talk with some people.

I WILL BE THERE LIKE NOBODY'S BUISNESS.

EDIT:  Thanks for the Subject Change.

DOUBLE EDIT:  Because a tournament of this magnitude has NEVER OCCURED, shouldn't there be a top 16 instead, or is that based on how many players show up?  Or, is that just not going to happen?

It would suck to get 250 people to show up, only to have EIGHT advance.

Jesus. They couldn't have done this for Chicago or cuse where they get 5x the turnout? Anyways, I'll be looking for tickets ASAP. I've never been down south before, so I expect good hospitality and a boatload of Moon Shine Very Happy

I probbbbbably won't own cards by then, but I might make the trip down just for shits and giggles.  The road trip with Orlove and BrassMan is worth it alone.

We will probably have to fly out to this event, since Onelovemachine is banned from some of the states we'd have to drive through.

I love SCG tourneys.

The reason why is fairly straightforward.

They are like Waterburies that I can actually play in!

I will be there.

Wow, normally I NEVER would travel this far for anything that isn't Gencon, but two TWO P9 tourneys in two days? If it's within my finances to afford transport/lodging/tourney entry then you can count on me being there.

I think I am also going, but I also have no clue on how I'm getting there at the present moment.  I might be leaving soon, since I haven't ruled out bicycling as an option yet.

I can't wait to see if Randy does well as opposed to the numerous pros that shit out at the Shooting Stars tournament.

I also wonder what Randy's co-workers think of this.  If they are also interested in unsanctioned Type 1 or not.  Or if they see these tournaments as sidestepping the no playing competitive magic restriction.

That said, someone from GWS will be selling Russian 9th edition packs and extra pieces of power in about 6 weeks.  Unfortunately, I will definitely not be one of them due to time and financial restrictions.

Forsythe played in one of these.  IIRC, it's not about "no competitive Magic" but rather that they can't participate in sanctioned events.  It's the same reason that the people that write preview articles for each set for MTG.com aren't allowed to participate in the prereleases.

Randy has won four pieces of power playing Vintage recently.  For the other shooting stars, it was mostly their first attempts at Vintage.

Randy is apparantly not the only Wizards employee to play in those events in Seattle in which he's been doing so well.  One of the people in IRC (seer) goes to those tournaments regularly and has so reported.
