So I've been looking for a thread on who's going to Lille, and I didn't find one. Originally, I wanted to go, too. Then I didn't have the money or the time. I started looking for someone to sponsor me going as coverage reporter, since if anyone had paid me, I could have gone. I found a website (PlanetMTG for those who can read German), but they weren't sure and haven't called back yet. So the deal is likely off, but I will be going anyway, if not to write then to play.

So who else is going? Who from TMD can I meet and greet?

I'm going to go with a Japanese player on this one.  They have to have broken the format by now.

Given the close link the Ruels have to the Japanese, I wouldn't put it past a couple of them to actually show up.

So Bram is guaranteed an undefeated record? Awesome!

As for the Germans, Team CAB will represent with Kim, Carsten and me. In addition to that, I'm in a full car with Blitzbold and some others including notorious Eternal judge Falko Görres. (Serge Metz and his daughter Sophia will be there as well, no wonder since she and Carsten have been together for a while now.) I guess that the obnoxious Germans from the Dutch Champs will come as well, so... expect the usual hate after the tournament.

I voted for Bram. He's dutch. It doesn't matter if he's there or not, he'll win. And he'll probably win by having some giant domino stack of bunnies, each holding a McKrocket dance like ninja pirates. I don't know how that will let him win, but be sure he'll pull it off.

Who adds polls to threads? All this discussion about a winner was supposed to be off-topic, but now I can't make fun of people anymore.

The poll was on there before you originally posted.

I know, but it wasn't there when I first read the thread, and since I clicked through from the front page, I only saw the newst posts. I totally missed the stealth poll edit, especially since it didn't even show up when I was checking previous posts while replying.

Who adds polls to threads?

Not me... Razz I actually didn't find the "add poll" button when I created the thread, so I had to add it once I had the thread created.

Feel free to make fun of anyone, though. Since you will go undefeated, you have full bragging rights until someone actually wins the event or Bram makes fun of you, whichever happens first!

P.S.: My coverage job is now officially not happening because it was planned much too spontaneously, so I will play in the GP. Expect an obscure Legends Common to make a major appearance in my decklist (if I get them in time, but should be alright). And I will not play Show and Tell... found something better, and much more old-school. Here's a clue: you can find a slightly similar decklist in the "Advanced Strategy Guide" from 1998, written by Mark Justice, on p. 40, only my version has less creatures and some updated card choices (including said obscure Legends common).

I voted for the Lion.
I'm unsure if this means I'll have to unleash a full-grown lion onto the GP floor, or if Dozer will just clean house at the event.

I will break into your house while you aren't home and disguise myself as a chair. Then I will leave before you get home, but there will be a place at your table where I was a chair and you will wonder why there isn't a chair there. Then later I will leave the chair disguise on your doorstep and you will realize what has happened and you will be afraid all the time. Helter Skelter mother fuckers!

Someone else read this too?  I was reading it last week when I found it buried in a box... along with my official Micropose strategy guide.  The specific cards are outdated, but the history and even the ratio grid in the back is still useful.

Well, no. Seeing I have no such luxury as having that book, it's kinda hard to read.

Don't fear though, I'll be there, as will Rvs(Rudy), MennoR(Menno) and BigMac(Marco). Other cars will include Tom vd Logt, Roy Thijsen and assorted pros, afaik. They were testing last weekend during the PTQ and took random advise from a n00b like me Neutral

No crack remarks. I will be happy when i make day 2, but then, who wouldn't be. I think a TMD'er will win.

Yup! In my case, not playing is the key to not losing Wink

I wish I could make it, but I just can't. I've a trip planned with my gf shortly after Lille, and I really can't afford to go on both trips. Sightseeing with my girl > losing a boring format to Italian pros.
