Pittsburgh Wins!

Just some of my thoughts on the game.

I don’t think the offensive pass interference call on Darryl Jackson that took the touchdown away was a bad call per-se; however, I would just rather the calls not to be so touchy.

And I've always thought that there could me a transmitter sewn into the football that would trigger when it passed the goal line, but I'm a polsci major and an o-lineman, handling the ball isn't my thing.
Ben Roethlisberger did not make that touchdown; I don’t know how that didn’t get overturned. Maybe, we do need something like that.

Seattle’s kicker with his two misses kept Las Vegas from making a lot of money via the push.

Pittsburgh’s defense looked good all night. They gave up a lot of yards during the game, but they always seemed to tighten up when they needed to.

Ben Roethlisberger looked off throwing the ball virtually all game. I suppose it was nerves, but most of his passes were either low or behind his receivers. He also made several bad decisions for a quarterback who is touted for playing smart, but he did make some big plays running the ball. Antwaan Randle El on the other hand looked like he was the best quarterback in the game. That was one heck of a pass while on the run. Willie Parker’s touchdown was the biggest momentum shift in the game, at that point I just felt that the game ended right then. Thankfully Pittsburgh made a few mistakes to keep the game interesting.

Seattle had some horrible clock management and the end of both halfs. I am sure everyone will make a big deal about it; however, I don't think it effected the outcome of the game.

I hate to say it, but I really think the officiating crew had a HUGE impact on the final outcome of this game.  Seattle had every single touchy or close call called against them all night long, from the Jackson interference call, to the Roethlisberger touchdown (which I honestly couldn't tell one way or the other), the holding call that took them out of the red zone that honestly did not look like holding, and that stupid call on the Hasselback tackle at the end of the interception play.  I don't want to take anything away from the Pittsburgh victory, as they played their hearts out all game and all playoffs, but I certainly don't feel like they "won" the Super Bowl in any way.  Between the officiating and the Seahawks shooting themselves in the foot, there wasn't much choice but for the Steelers to walk away victorious tonight.

Seattle made a couple of big football mistakes:
1) Poor clock management.
2) 2 Missed field goals -- indoors!!

#2 makes #1 all the more painful.  If they had those 6 points, and managed the time better at the end of the first half, they might have been able to be in a situation at the end of the game where they were going for only a field goal instead of a touchdown, a conversion, and a field goal.

I think that it is unfair to level the win at the incompetence of the Seahawks or the shoddy officiating. The fact is that the Seahawks did do a horrible job of clock management. So bad that I laughed out loud at it, and I watch four football games a year (or so). Yes, the Roethlisberger touchdown was a tad-mite sketchy. But, the Steelers played well. So did the Seahawks, overall. Roethlisberger nearly gave the game away a few times, but so did Hasselbeck. It was, overall, a great game. One of the better Superbowls that I have watched.

On a side note, did anyone else think that the Seahawks were simply asking[/i] for a loss? I mean, c'mon, their theme song was Bittersweet Sympathy for chrissakes!! This was simply amusing, really.

Worst officiated game ever... The game looked and felt rigged... I hate both teams so I am not be biased... I just wanted a good game, and I honestly feel the officials stole the potential for that to happen directly out of my grasp...

Comercials sucked too...

The game was kind of weak. There were two good plays by the Steelers though.

The Seahawks would have lost even if the refs had done a better job.

It's a 16 week season, with 4 weeks of playoffs, and a 4 week preseason which unfortunately just came to a close.

Arena football is just starting up though, and NFL Europe will get underway soon, but for the traditional NFL, you're going to have to wait until september or so.

I'm not aware of any websites that broadcast game replays, but video highlights are usually available from the major sporting sites, espn.com, nfl.com, and the home pages of whatever team you're most interested in (links available at nfl.com).

Quote from: www.NFLFilms.com
IF YOU WERE INTERESTED IN OBTAINING A FULL GAME: Unfortunately full game prints, as you see them on TV, are not available from NFL Films or from any other source.
So, your out of luck unless you get your hands on some kind of bootleg copies, which of course is illegal. NFLFilms sell a bunch of famous games for an obnoxious price of $50.00, but each game is only about 30min its long, so in other words they are charging you $50.00 for an extended highlight clip:(
