This is just for music you've been digging in the last month or so. (This isn't a "what's your favorite band" thread.)
If you have a 5-cd changer (or whatever), what's in there now?
Otherwise, what are last cds/.mp3 that you've really dug?

Full albums I listen to regularly: -Elliot Goldenthal - Interview with the Vampire (yes, the soundtrack) -Various Artists - Queen of the Damned (soundtrack) -Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell + Back Into Hell -Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing (best of album) -Supertram - The Very Best Of -Lasgo - Some Things + Far Away -Howard Shore + Others - all 3 LotR cds And a few others like Christina Aguilera - Stripped, Sugababes - Taller In More Way and other pop-albums; but the aforementioned are the cds I mostly listen to. Of course, I also have quite a few other songs as well; from Rammstein to Enya and from Eric Clapton to Nightwish. In summary: I listen to everything as long as it is good in its own genre.

Recently I've been listening more to softer stuff, as opposed to much of last year when I largely was listening to things like KMFDM, Mindless Self Indulgence, and the Offspring. My playlist recently has been populated by some Garbage, Origa, Portishead, Natalie Imbruglia, and various OST's from the Ghost in the Shell anime, which has some excellent music. The entire spectrum is, of course, on my iPod so I still hear everything. I've just been listening to calmer music at home recently.

The last 5 CDs I listened to (from whats in right now, to older) are
Tribe Called Quest - the love movement Beasty Boys - Ill communications Diesleboy - Soldier Story Squarepusher - ultravisitor Blackalicious - Nia
Ive been listening to a ton of Roots lately too...Bob Yu made me throw on some Paul Okenfold - Tranceport a couple of weeks ago and some Master P - Ghetto D, as well, heh...Other stuff that graces my CD player frequently would be anything with Breaks (this is hip-hop, drum & bass, experimental and on ((like Squarepusher and Aphex Twin))) Ming & FS, Modest Mouse (and yes, I listened to them LONG before they got popular), Rage against the Machine, Tool, the streets and many many more..I also inexplicably like Dave Matthews band...go figure.

In my 5-cd changer at the moment:
Sigur Ros - Takk Sufjan Stevens - Michigan New Order - the new one * I like older New Order (and some Joy Division), but this is pretty bad -- anyway, this is my partner's record, not mine Jim O'Rourke - Insignificance Wilco - Live in Chicago (disk one)

Since my brother has like infinite songs on his computer but refuses to set up a network, I'm forced to rip his ripped CDs and then re-burn them. Â But I still listen on my boom box because I'm stupid and can't find a cord longer than an inch to hook my computer and boom box together:
Rage Against the Machine -- Evil Empire Rage Against the Machine -- The Battle of Los Angeles Bush -- Razorblade Suitcase Incubus -- S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Dane Cook -- Harmful If Swallowed

Aimee Mann, as always. I'm going to see Aimee Mann in STL on Tuesday, which should be amazing as usual. A bunch of Tori Amos, some Rolling Stones (listening to "Angie" by both artists back to back is pretty interesting).
RJD2 when I get down some. Jay-Z when I feel like being inspired to be the biggest badass ever.
Also, I get to go see Bela Fleck with Victor Wooten sometime in April too. That should be infuckingcredible.

There are only 3 albums I've been listening to lately:
Metallica - S&M Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II Howard Shore - LoTR 1&2 (still looking for 3 somewhere on the web)
I mostly listen to singles though. Some of the more played artist include:
The Doors Queen The Beatles Pink Floyd
A lot of old stuff.
Btw: does anyone here listen to classical music like Bach or Beethoven? If so, could he or she hook me up with a small list of some of the better/famous tracks of that genre? I've always wanted to give classical music a try but I don't have the time to find out who the better artists/tracks are.

No CDs, but I recently got a new computer and this is all I've really had a chance to put onto it:
Future Trance Vol. 13 & 14 Prozzak - Hot Show Anything Offspring, Beck, or Sublime System 22 - Velocity Trip Smashmouth - Fush Yu Mang Oasis - Be Here Now Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Let's Face It
You can get into my iPod and find an even more diverse cast such as BT, 311, the Refreshments, and Richard Humpty Vission's "Shut the Fuck Up and Dance."

I saw Bela Flek and the Flektones in Princeton, New Jersey a couple of years ago (on a free ticket no less). It was fantastic. I'm a huge Vic Wooten fan too.

My shortlist is probably weird and definitely old. Here's the selection I enjoy at the moment:
Dreadlock Holiday -- 10cc Soldier's Song -- The Hollies House of the Rising Sun -- Eric Burdon Sultans of Swing -- Dire Straits Ring of Fire -- Johnny Cash All You Zombies -- The Hooters Learning to Fly -- Tom Petty & The Heartbrakers Caravan of Love -- The Housemartins Don't pay the ferryman -- Chris DeBurgh The Letter (Give me a ticket for an aeroplane) -- G.G. Kettel Dust in the wind -- Kansasa One Night In Bangkok -- Murray Head (<-- This has been THE song in my head for the last two weeks. Have any of you ever really listened to that text?)
Kasuras, looks like we're on the same page concerning the music we currently listen to...

Save Farris The Who AC/DC Rolling Stones Led Zepplin Slayer
93% of my ipod is rap which is very sweet. Forgot to mention that the Wu-Tang clan is pretty good to!

@Sgt. Pepper: PM me with what style you're going for. Classical music is really variant in what mood you're looking to represent, moreso than any other genre.
Currently listening to: Gustav Mahler, Symphony No. 9 in D Major

I've been listening to a ton of the Dresden Dolls. Specifically the songs Gravity, Bad Habit, and Slide.
Seems like a good thread to ask-- Has anybody heard the song Sleepless by Raindancer? It's a crazy synthpop song I haven't heard in like 6 years and I'd love to get it back on this machine.
