RIW Hobbies will be holding a full Power Nine tournament this summer!  The format will be of course, Vintage, and we will be allowing for up to 10 proxies.  The event will be held July the 15th;  Deck registration will begin at 10AM and the Tournament will get underway promptly at 11AM.

Top eight will draft off the Power Nine;  First place will get the First and ninth picks.  There will be Judges onhand to make rulings and answer quesitions.  et cetera.

Hope to see you all out for this event!  If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me via PM.  RIW hobbies is located in Livonia Michigan on Five Mile Road and Middlebelt.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear that JD!  You are kind of a Michigan staple and will be missed I'm sure.

Yeah, I'm bummed to miss it, but on the other hand, I will be in the home land of Japanese foils, so like, no one will have much of anything on me in the pimpness department when I return.

As a side note, I am expecting to receive acceptance (based on what an official said after I submitted my FINAL piece of proof of residency) to the University of Michigan's EE graduate program in the next week or so.

Prepare for the most elaborate trash talking thread EVAR!!!!!!

The sheer fact that Droba is in Japan means that we will know actually only have good players at this tourney!  Sweet!

Can't say for certain, but there's a pretty good chance CO crew will be driving out for this one. Can we barn someone's crib?

I'm glad that it looks like we are going to have lots of support for this event.  High attendence would definately ensure that RIW Hobbies management would put on more of these events in the future.

The address would be helpful for people planning on mapping it before comitting to the trip.

That's the store info, but the event might be held somewhere else, as space is fairly limited.  Brian would be the one to ask about that, not me.

If anyone would like help choosing a hotel near the store, feel free to contact me.  I know the area rather well, since I'm from there.  Razz

Why would you know the hotels then?  Helping pay your way through college?

JD is well acquainted with the hotels in the area from picking up random girls and taking them back to a hotel for a night of savage uninhibited love making.  At least that is what Franklin's sister told me...

I'm pretty sure it was his girlfriend who told you that, obv.  Although, you might have heard it from his sister too.

Is this prize support guaranteed?  I want to go, but don't want to drive a long way to end up playing for packs of Ravnica.

Sorry i haven't updated this is a while...  I shattered my elbow and have not been around MD much in the past month.

but to update the thread...

Yes, the event is definitely still on.

Prize support is guaranteed.

Entry fee will be $30.00.

R.I.W.  Hobbies would like to be able to run a large scale Vintage power tourney at least once a year, so we really need your support to make sure that this event is a success.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Cheers,
Brian
