The real question is will there be air conditioning this time. No offense Hatch, but last time a sauna would have been more comfortable.

Alot of times I come into these tourney threads and I'm like "Hey, this looks great" and "I'll try to be there" or "I'll probably be at this thing" and then often times I flake out at the last minute for some BS reason or family emergency or coming to the tourney on the wrong day then being too frustrated to come back to the venue the next day.
But on this one there shall be no half assing it.
There shall be no BS excuses.
I'll double check to make sure it's the right day before I leave.
I will also threaten others at gunpoint should they decide not to attend.
I'll be at this.

Current results from Kowal, if anyone's interested.
Kowal, playing CS, drawing into top8. Rich is 3-0, playing DRAGON, and is currently playing against Travis Laplante.

You say rich is 3-0, playing Dragon, and is 3-0.... There are two possible interpretations: First, rich is 3-0, and you merely repeat that twice. Secondly, Rich is 3-0, and someone else is also 3-0. This other person is playing Travis. In addition, how is Kowal draiwng into top 8 when Rich is only 3-0? If it is a 5 round swiss, why wouldn't Rich also be drawing in?

top 8 was in no particular order since I forgot:
rich shay with dicemans dragon vs demonic attorney with slaver stefan elsworth with dicemans dragon vs. mike pise with sullivan solution me with a new confidant/stax deck vs. kowal with slaver gagooch with grimlong vs. ray robilard with staxless stax.
Of course I got paired against kowal with slaver and had 2 completely un-remarkable games where I played about 5 spells total. Stax cannot beat drains when you don't draw threats.
On a side note, that dragon deck must have not gotten paired against stax at all in rochester, because I absolutely demolished rich shay both games, on the draw both.
From now on I'm not drawing in any more, for the past 2 months I've gone x-0-2 in like 4 tournaments and got fucked in the first round of top 8 every time. I really wish I had played the deck I did today at rochester, instead of the crap I ran.
Oh, I forgot the best part.
Before the tournament started Kowal decided to be an asshat and kick me, so I took a nearby garbage can that I thought was empty and dumped it over his head. Turned out it wasn't empty and he got covered by a shitload of swept up dirt. Unfortunately he had a 2nd shirt in his car, maybe losing to him in top 8 was karma getting me back.

Travis was my matchloss for the day. But most Stax decks don't have Choke! Or a draw engine! I cut through two other shop decks there, but Travis' deck looks brilliant. Also, Diceman, your Dragon deck is so well built. With a real manabase and a good draw engine, I was able to do well despite having no experience with Dragon at all. I just played it like Tog and that seemed to work just fine.
