Has anyone considered something like this?

3 Null Rod
4 Sulfuric Vortex
4 Pyrostatic Pillar
4 Root Maze

4 Skyshroud Cutter
4 Tin Street Hooligan
4 Wild Mongrel
4 Basking Rootwallah

8 Open Metagame Slots

4 Tinder Wall
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Taiga
1 Lotus
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Ruby
4 Forest
2 Mountain

The Sulfuric Vortexes and Pyrostatic Pillars act as both disruption and add to the clock. (Vortexes nullifying the emergency tendrils your opponent would cast to stay alive, and the Pillars forcing them to play more carefully)

Null Rods and Root Mazes are obvious.

Skyshroud cutter is free and  with a vortex in play is a free 2/2 with no drawbacks.

I think that only having around 20 mana sources is fine, because basically, you only need about 2 on the board to cast anything (sans-vortex).

The sideboard would contain the necessary Oath + Aggro hate that R/G would offer.

I would play Crypts and Caltrops to combat Ichorid decks.

Keep in mind this is all in theory and isn't tested, but I think it would provide a substantial clock against blue-based control, keeping them off drain mana for about 4 turns giving you pleanty of time to apply enough pressure to race them.

My only concern with this archetype is what can you do if they play first, and tinker a colosus on the first turn.
