Hi,
This sunday I attended a Vintage tourney in Leiden. The first place was supposed to be 2 Ital. Drains, but not enough people showed up so Vincent was forced to keep the second Drain. I don't blame him.
We had a low turnout of 35 people. That's way less than we normally get..
Anyway, no pre-tourney rant for me. Here's the report:
My decklist:

4 Smokestack
4 Sphere of Resistance
3 Crucible of Worlds

1 Crop Rotation
1 Tinker
1 Ancestal Recall
1 Jester’s Cap
1 Balance
2 Sensei’s Divining Top
// Big artifacts:
1 Triskelion
1 Sundering Titan
1 Duplicant
1 Karn, Silver Golem
// Little Red Men:

3 Goblin Welder
// Mana & Strips:
4 Wasteland

1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
1 Mana Vault
1 Black Lotus
Sideboard:
3 Ray of Revelation
1 Red Elemental Blast
2 Pyroblast
2 Tormod’s Crypt
1 Jester’s Cap
2 Pyroclasm
1 Shattering Spree
2 In the Eye of Chaos
1 Darkblast
I used to have a Darkblast maindeck, but I replaced it with a Jester's Cap. And boy has it been awesome..
Round 1: Stefan Gussenhoven with Drain TPS
Game 1: I drop a Sphere of Resistance, which gets countered, after winning the dieroll. He lays a crapload of artifact mana and a Memory Jar. I play an Imperial Seal and carefully get a Jester’s Cap, hoping he does not trigger the Jar right away, and if he does, hoping to draw a Welder. He does not trigger Jar but lays a land and plays a Brainstorm instead. I think he has a Drain in hand, which could be why he didn’t trigger the Jar. I bait with some random spell and he indeed Drains it. Next turn I can lay Cap and activate it, but it’s to late since he just triggers Jar and draws broken.
I sideboard In The Eye of Chaos and the 2nd Jester’s Cap for 3 Smokestack, I think. My reasoning behind this is that Smokestack is too slow and If he Drains it he just wins. I also boarded a Darkblast. I can’t remember if I boarded in REB’s, but I think not.
Game 2: Â I lead with double Sphere of Resistance with the help of Mana Crypt. Second turn I play a mox and In The Eye Of Chaos. I burn for 2 and take damage from the Crypt. I continue playing lockpieces, but my Crypt hates on me, doing damage to me _every_single_time_. It eventually kills me.

0-1
Great way to start a tourney. F*cking Mana Crypt..
I came here with Ronald, a good friend of mine, who decided to play our R/W Hate deck. I posted the list in some thread. It plays maindeck Shattering Spree, Chalice, Savannah Lions, Kataki, StP and a lot of burn. He tells me he just topdecked the shit out of his deck (or making sure his opponent did not, with his cutting skillz). Anyway, he is 1-0.
Round 2: Raymond with U/W Fish
Game 1: I lead with a turn 1 Sphere of Resitance, and he FoW’s it. Turn 2 I drop a Triskelion with a little help by Mana Vault, with Daze mana open. Turns out he has a Daze, but it would be pointless to play it since I have the 1 mana left. Next turn 1 get a Cap out since I don’t have any other spells, and activate it. By stacking his deck I figure he has the Daze in hand, and a Spiketails Hatchling and 2 Standstills. I remove his Swords. I don’t see any Chalices or Kataki’s in the mainboard though. Anyway, I shoot down a Stormscape Apprentice and start beating till he can’t take no more.
I sideboard in my Pyroclasms, 1 Darkblast, and my Rebs. I take out a Cap, a Duplicant, 2 Sensei’s Divining Top (for if he had Rod in his SB) and a Smokestack.
Game 2: He opens with a Chalice and an Island. I play a Crucible. He plays some Creature, and I waste his land and lay another Crucible. a few turns later, he plays a Standstill with 5 other cards in hand, and I break it by playing all my Moxes into his Chalice and finally playing a Balance with both Daze and Reb mana open. He doesn’t have a Force (again he has a Daze though, heh) and he discards down to 2 cards. After that I waste his Factory. I have Karn in hand and kick the shit out of him the turn after.
2-0
1-1
I walk over to see how Ronald is doing, and I’m just in time to see a savage ‘Ronald’ (we actually renamed topdecking after him). His opponent, Marco Kievit, just went Memory Jar, go (in his first turn), and Ronald plays a Shattering Spree on it, and passes. Marco plays a Tolarian and taps 7 mana for a Platinum Angel. Ronald lays another land and plays a Seal of Cleansing of the Angel. Next turn he wastes his land and plays a Lion and an Isamaru. Marco rips Will after a while and replays the Angel. Ronald Swords it and kills Marco the next turn with a Bolt and an attack. Turns out he had 2 Titans in hand but only 7 mana.. go Ronald!
Round 3: David Martninez with Suicide Black
Game 1: I win the dieroll and go Workshop, Mox, Trinisphere, go. I’m not afraid of Wasteland because I have a Strip, 2 Gemstones and a Demonic in hand. He doesn’t have a Waste, and I drop a Gemstone. Next turn 1 strip his land and he scoops even before I can tutor up a Crucible.
I board Shattering Spree (he played Rods) and Clasms (Negator, heh) for Jester’s Cap and 2 Tops.
Game 2: He plays a turn 1 Ritual into Negator. I have no creatures in hand. I play a turn 1 Tangle Wire to stall a bit, and eventually find a Karn. He, however, has a fresh Hypnotic Specter in play. I can go either Trinisphere and Strip his land (I had a Sphere of Resistance in play) or Karn, go, with no mana left. I choose to play the Trinisphere, because I know he plays with Diabolic Edict and next turn I could go Karn with mana left to make something a creature. He attack and, ofcourse, rips my Karn. I die shortly after.
Game 3: He gets out a Negator. I get out a Welder, a Karn and a Triskelion. Thanks to my six armed friend he was a little short on permanents..
Eventually, David finished 9th. Friggin’ tiebreakers huh?
Ronald won yet ANOTHER round (against yet another Eindhovie), wtf.. Nice Ronald, 3-0 with an Unpowered deck. only one more win to t8!
2-1
2-1
Round 4: Sytze with Assasin.
Game 1: Sytze was new with the deck, and didn’t know how all his cards worked. He played good though. I win the dieroll (OMG, again!) and start with a Welder and a Sphere of Resistance which he FoW’s. He plays a Bazaar and activates it. He discards a Squee, a Will and a Duplicant, so I know what deck he is playing. He then plays a shitload of artifact mana. The turn after, he animates his Duplicant. I play more lockpieces, and eventually a Smokestack and a Gorilla Shaman. Gorilla gets hungry and I ramp Smokey to one. At my EOT, he tries to Welder my Smokestack for a Lotus or something. I explain to him that’s not how Duplicant works. That mistake clears out his board and he scoops.
I side in Tormod’s Crypt, 2 Rays and a Darkblast. I might have boarded in a Spree, but I can’t remember. I took out something like Titan, Cap, Tinker, Seal and Vampiric, because there are no real gamewinning targets for my tutors.
Game 2: I mulligan into a mediocre hand with Lotus, Strip, 2 Wastelands, Smokestack and a Crypt. He leads with a Duress which nabs my Smokestack and a Chalice=0. Mm.. Anyway, I waste his lands for 3 turns straight, but than he does topdeck land and I do not.
Game 3: I begin with a Crucible and a Monkey, and shortly after a Welder. He Darkblasts my Welder but I find a Wasteland and eat his City. He smokes my Monkey (after it ate a big banana, yum..) I find another Welder, and he decided not to dredge because he needs to draw manasources that are Black. He draws some Bazaars that I waste, and I start Weldering out his new Moxes for his Artifact land, to Waste it. I start pimpslapping with Welder and eventually kill him with it. Sure, I got a little help from my friend Sphere of Resistance, but still. 20 turn clocks rule.
2-1
3-1
Ronald lost. Heh.
Round 5: Koen v/d Hulst (Thug) with Intuition Gifts
Game 1: It’s always cool to play against Koen. We always joke around a lot, and the match gets way more relaxed. Anyway, the winner of this match is going to ID into T8 next round. He wins the roll (my luck is over, figures) and leads with some broken shit.  He Drains a Smokestack and Gifts for Scroll, Intuition, Demonic, Mystical. I give him Mystical and Scroll. He fetches a Colossus and beats me to death with it.
I sideboard a Cap, 2 In The Eye Of Chaos and 3 Reb’s. I take out 2 big artifacts (Trisk and Duplicant), and 4 cards that I can’t remember.
Game 2: This game was fast. I lead with a Recall, and he follows up with.. A Recall! He plays a Lotus, a Sol Ring and a Mana Crypt. I have a Monkey in hand that comes out the turn after. He cracks Lotus in response and plays a Brainstorm. When we move to the second mainphase he burns for two. Monkey loves bananas. I get out a Sphere of Resistance and a Wire, and tutor up and play a Tinker when he is outtapped. Titan wrecks his mana and I slap him to death with it.
Game 3: This game is ridiculous.  He leads with Lotus, Intuition, Land Mox AK for 3, Sapphire, Ancestral Recall. I start crying or something. He Duresses my Tinker away and I’m left with a tutor and a Sphere or something. D’oh. Anyway, he counters like everything I draw (Smokestack, Drain, burn for 4, Welder, Fow, Cap, Drain, burn for 4, Welder, Fow) and in like turn 11 or something, when we both have a gazillion mana open I topdeck my last Welder. He has no counter (woohoo) and doesn’t find a solution in his turn. I Weld in Cap and remove his winconditions. He scoops.
2-1
4-1
Damn, I’m a lucksack!
Round 6 I draw with Dennis, who is playing UbaCap. We watch Ronald lose his 3rd match in a row and Koen winning against Goswin with EggCombo (heh). Koen lucksacks into the t8, coming in 8th!. Nice!
1-1
4-1-1
Quarters: Joram de Kraker – Drain TPS
Game 1: He mulligans to four. He won the dieroll and leads with Island, Mox Jet, Lotus, go. I play a Stack and he Drains. He burns for 4 and passes. I play something random, like a Crucible. He draws and passes. I play something random again, but this time plus a Welder. Eot, he Mysticals and finds a Dark Ritual. I know what time it is. He plays a Necro and draws 11 cards. In my turn, I play a Jester’s Cap which I rip from the top, and he Forces it. He forgot about my Welder, and I Welder it in and Activate it. I lay out his deck (we later found out this is illegal, but whatever). I found out that he has his second Tendrils in hand, so I take a Will, a Rebuild and a Hurkyl’s Recall to make winning hard for him. I noticed he had a Demonic and a Ritual in hand. I forgot about Jar, which he triggers in his turn (should.have.picked.Tendrils..) We draw our hands and he scoops. He tells me he had 6 manasources and something random..
That game was way to close. He mulliganed to 4, for Christ’s sake..
Anyway, I sideboard this again: 2 In The Eye of Chaos and the 2nd Jester’s Cap for 3 Smokestack. Oh, and something for a Darkblast
Game 2: This game,
I mulligan to four. After a while, and some countering of my spells (I had a turn 1 Sphere of Resistance of a Sol Ring!), he starts calculating and thinks he can make it. He realises that he isn’t going to make it the way he planned it, because his Darkblast has no target. He plays a Timetwister with 3 mana floating and draws good cards. He wins.
Game 3: He mulligans to 5, and I lock the game down with a Trinisphere, followed by a In The Eye Of Chaos. I finish him with a Tinker --> Titan.
2-1
5-1-1
w00t, I’m in the semi’s. What the hell just happened?
Anyway, I watch the final game between Koen and Stefan. Stefan has just atacked for 11 with his colossus, and Koen plays an Intuition. The turn before he double Duressed Stefan and he removed everything exept for a land and a Brainstorm. Stefan drawed his card, attack, and passed the turn. Koen gets a Tinker, which he plays in his turn. Like a pro, Stefan FoWs it, pitching Brainstorm. Koen has a FoW in hand, but no blue card. What am I up against? Sad panda

Semifinals: Stefan Gussenhoven with Drain TPS again.
Game 1: He double mulligans and I mulligan once. I have no idea what the hell happened in this game. I think I resolve a Cap and active it, removing his winconditions, but that could very well be game 3. In my notes he suddenly jumps from 13 to 6, so I must have Tinker’ed up a Titan.
Anyway, I sideboard this again: 2 In The Eye of Chaos and the 2nd Jester’s Cap for 3 Smokestack. Oh, and something for a Darkblast.
Game 2: I mulligan to four. My first hand just wasn’t cutting it (it contained my last Smokestack but nothing else, not even a Workshop) and the rest had no mana. Anyway. I get a Welder and I beat a grand total of 3 ties before he Tendrils me to death. I think I tried a Balance with a Trinisphere out (from the top, heh), but in response he bounces my Trinisphere and only discards one or two cards..
Game 3: This game was kinda cool. I have a Trinisphere in hand, which resolves on turn 1. After a few turns, I find a Tinker with my Top and play it. Titan wrecks his mana, but he still has a Sol Ring, a Mana Vault and some Moxes out (and 1 Fetchland). I attack him down to 5, but when I try to attack for the win he Rebuilds me, removing all his lands expect for an Island. In replay Trinisphere, which resolves again, and he tries to combo on his turn, He just didn’t make it and he scoops.
2-1
6-1-1
OMG I’m in the finals. I don’t consider Drain TPS to be a good matchup, so I was very lucky.
I offer a split before we play. He accepts it and he takes the Drain and the Force, while I take the money. Happy panda.
We play it out for fun, and to see who would win.
Finals: Martijn van der Vaart – Drain TPS (no Confidants)
Game 1: I have a very good opening hand. I lead with Crucible and Crop Rotate into a Strip Mine. He went Ritual Ritual Ritual Demonic Wil Ritual Ritual Ritual Demonic Tendrils on me

I sideboard In the Eye of Chaos, Reb’s (his version cutted Confidants for more blue cards) and the Jester’s Cap for 4 Smokestacks, a Duplicant and a Crucible.
Game 2: I get an early Cap and remove 2 Tendrils and a Colossus. He still had a Heretic, but I didn’t think he was going to win with that. I get out more lockpieces (In The Eye of Chaos included, for what it’s worth) and win with a Karn.
Game 3: He leads with an Ancestral. I play a Sphere of Resistance which he counters, removing Tinker. He draws and shows me his hand of Double Ritual, Lotus, Will I believe and Bargain. I scoop up my cards and go home.
