Poison lotus

{0}

{T}, sacrifice; add 2 mana of any color to your mana pool

When poison lotus comes into play, You can't play spells if you played poison lotus this turn.

"although in the eye of the beholder it glows, poison within slows"

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

Interesting... I think you might want to model the wording off Rock Jockey, as its current wording gives you the chance to play instants in response.

Poison Lotus

Artifact

T, Sacrifice -this-: Add 2 mana of any color to your mana pool.

You can't play spells if you played -this- this turn.

The second wording also avoids welder screw.

ok, I changed it.

My first thought was this :

{0}

{T}, sacrifice, add 2 mana of any color to your mana pool. during your opponents next main phase, that player may add up to 3 colorless mana to his or her mana pool.

obviously, this was broken Smile

I'm not sure that a 0cc artifact that produces 2 colored mana will ever be fair, reguarless of what the drawback is, unless it's seriously mega-extreme(like, you take 20 damage).  This would maybe be more fair if you had to RFG it instead of just sacrificing.  And people thought Gusthra Mox was broken?

I was thinking that because of the drawback, it wouldnt be super fast in combo decks. for storm cards, a lotus petal is better.

this is just a fast way of getting mana.
then again, everyone would be using the card, because it would mean turn 2,  4 mana in standard.

Stop trying to fix broken cards. :< They already made a fixed Lotus; it's called Lotus Petal.
