So I've played a LOT of Type 4 lately.  Let me share with you...

Split Second really fixes some holes in the game.  It breaks up combos and really seems to make some of the more powerful cards seem a bit more fair.  Word of Siezing is so good.  I had an Arcanis+Sneak Attack combo ON THE TABLE get boken up with Word of Siezing.  Needless to say, I was petty impressed. This is probably the first time since Mirrodin that I think the strategy of type 4 hs had to change.  When Mirrodin came out, Artifacts went from sucy to awesome over night.

Split Second reqires a tighter grip on who has priority in a game, which can be difficult with a lot of players.  Remember that active player gets priority after things resolve.

I died when I had a million life.  There are more potential combo kills than ever.  Stuffy Doll+Masticore, the Kaerevek "tag team" (where one player plays a large X spell into Kaerevek with expectations that the controller of Kaerevek will send the damage elsewhere.  This is particularly good if the player of the X spell controls a defensive card like Praav, Spires of Order), and good old fashioned Glarecater+Masticore.  Phage the Untouchable and Door to Nothingness are also in my stack, so a million life might not be enough.

Teferi is pretty damn good, but can usually be defeated through a team effort. Reguardless, Teferi is a strong trump strategy for late game when people have played out most of their good stuff.

Afterthoughts on Time Spiral, anyone?

I agree, split second spells are phenominal.  Sudden Death is one of the best, and Krosan Grip has revolutionized the way people use their artifacts.  No one gets to sit on an untapped Tower of Fortune/Eons and wait for a good opportunity anymore.  Memnarch takes stuff immediately, and everything in response without passing priority.  Mindslaver is activated immediately.  The fear of Krosan Grip is amazing to witness.
Teferi is busted, but removable.  Often the player who has him revolves his entire gameplay around Teferi, which makes him weak without it.  I'm much more a fan of Spell Burst, myself.  By the way, we've erratad (or at least ruled) that once you are down to 1-on-1 you cannot buyback Spell Burst anymore.  People hate losing to being locked out by Spell Burst, this simple solution works well, and has been agreed upon by all my playgroup.
Bogarden Hellkite is Good, but not amazing, however Scion of the Ur-Dragon is nuts, especially if you have Mist Dragon in your deck (or Kokusho).
Voidmage Husher has made for some good moments, any additional Stifle effects are always fun.
Stuffy Doll is crazy.  In one game, stuffy doll took out 4 players.  This is how it happened:

Stuffy Doll cast by player 1, targets player 2.  Player 3 Infernos.  Player 4 swings into player 3's blocker, before blockers player 5 Orim's Thunders (W/kicker) on Stuffy doll to kill player 3's blocker.  Player 4's creature kills player 3 (1 down - blocker removed by Stuffy Doll).
Player 5 plays a spell on his turn, Player 1 Suffocating blasts it, dealing 3 to Stuffy Doll, killing player 2 (2 Down - Stuffy Doll Targetted).
Player 1 plays Sway of the stars, and redraws Stuffy Doll.  Player 4 plays Bloodfire Colossus, and activates it (everyone at 1).  Player 1 plays Stuffy Doll, targetting player 4.  On his next turn, he activates Stuffy doll, killing player 4 (3 Down - Stuffy Doll Targetted), and plays Bosh to fling Stuffy doll at Player 5 (4 down - Stuffy Doll to the dome).

This format is insane.
