We need this thread.

Who watched the Dallas game?   It really bothers me; there is something immoral about Seattle taking the win.

Dallas had their chance to advance and blew it.

The worst game this week was Colts vs Chiefs' defense. (I think their offense was on a different plane that ended up somewhere in Arizona).

I look forward to watching next week's games. Patriots vs San Diego should be the best game of the year. You have high-powered offense vs best defense in Colts/Ravens, as well as Bears vs Seahawks, which should be decent, and Saints vs Eagles, which should be really good.

The winner of the Chargers/Pats game will go all the way.  The NFC teams just aren't good enough to win the superbowl.

All the playoff games next week should be nuts.

Seahawks/Bears- I'll take da bears, but don't count out Seattle.  They have a much better QB in Hasslebeck (regardless if the bears starts Griese or Grossman or play both) and they definitely have a better coach.  Still, if Alexander can't play their game is probably done.

Colts/Ravens- Sheesh.  Great teams on both sides, but I like Baltimore here.  I don't think the Colts defense will show up to play two games in a row.  Also Ray Lews is a monster.  Peyton needs to have a perfect game and then some to wn this.

Saints/Eagles- I think this will be the best game of next week hands down, and this is coming from a Pats fan.  Both these teams are scrappy and will play their hearts out for a win.  I like the Saints here, but would not be surprised in the least if the Eagles win.  Garcia will pretty much kill himself to win this game if he has to.

Charges/Pats- Sheesh again.  These two are playing too early :p  Chargers are hands down the best team in the hunt, but I like the Pats here for the upset.  I think the chargers will get outcoached and they definitely will have the quarterback disadvantage.  It's going to be a matter of stopping two people for the Pats: Offensively you have to obv shut down LT, and I think the pats can definitely do that.  Shotenheimer should be very predictable and have the ball get run far too much because he won't want Rivers throwing it up into our VERY good defense.  The much harder task will be stopping Shawn Merriman on the defense.  If he manages to get Brady off his game this will be a total nightmare for the Pats and give LT plenty of time to just keep running in there.  Game should be great, and I honestly feel the best two teams are in this game.

Playoffs next week will be intense.  Too bad I miss most of the games being at Stratfordbury :p

Peyton had a really bad game vs the Chiefs. But the Chiefs did absolutely nothing outside of that one drive. So it was more of a case of the Chiefs being bad than him being good.

Shottenheimer is 5-12 in postseason games.

Belicheck is 11-1 in postseason games with the Patriots.

I believe that Rivers has never played in a postseason game before. He has played a total of 20 NFL games over 3 seasons. If you read his QB rating, he's had an incredible year with a better QB rating than Brady.

Brady is 11-1 in postseason wins with 2 Super Bowl MVPs.

As for the Bears, if they play "0.0 QB rating" Grossman, I think that the Seahawks will have to do far less work.

I grew up in Seattle, so I must say that I loved watching Dallas lose. Seattle didn't win

Romo was the Seahawk's MVP in that game. Or maybe Tatupu.

Hassleback had an awful game himself, and that will not continue. He should pick the Bears apart. Alexander will play, and it really doesn't matter if he doesn't. Hasslebeck has had his best games without Alexander (see the Playoff game v. the Redskins last year). Neither Alexander, nor Morris has been able to run against the Bears anyway.

Having said all this, if the Bears score over 13 points, they cannot lose this game.

I think Ramada has cable.  So after round 2, the coolest people can chill in my room and watch the games/drink beer/eat. (which is arguably better than winning power anyway)

Their defense was good because Sanders was playing, which will relieve some pressure on Peyton for the Ravens game.  And in all honesty, it doesn't matter how bad the Colts defense is if Peyton is playing at his optimal level; the opposing offense just can't keep up.

I just like to close my eyes and pretend there is no Bears QB. Offense is just something that happens when they fail to strip a ball/return a punt for a touch down.

Ravens got wrecked. McNair should have the air on his nickname changed to turnover.

Regardless of the end of the Eagles/Saints, all I have to say is...

Reggie Bush got JACKED UP!

Yeah going 3-2-drop day 1 allowed me to watch the 2nd half of the Colts game and the Eagles lose.

Patriots - Colts is always so good.

Well, that's it, Chargers are done, Pats will win the Super Bowl with a tight AFC Championship game and a blowout vs. the Bears in the Super Bowl.

THE FOLLOWING PHONE CONVERSATION TAKES PLACE BETWEEN 7:30 PM AND 8:30 PM ON THE DAY OF THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP:

<Dave R>Your Colts [FBOMBBBB] suck.
<Dave R>Are you watching the game?
<Shawn>No, I'm at work.
<Shawn>What's the score?
<Dave R>21 - 3 Pats.
<Shawn>Quarter?
<Dave R>End of the 2nd.
<Shawn>They'll come back.

~HALFTIME~

(20 mins. later...)

<Dave R>Wow, you might be right.  13 - 21.

(20 mins. later...)

<Dave R>Colts have the ball on the Patriots 20.
<Shawn>Touchdown w/ 2-point conversion.
<Dave R>Yeah, I think so.
<Dave R>Touchdown Colts.
<Shawn>Are they going for it?
<Dave R>Yes.
<Shawn>Is it good?
<Dave R>Hold on...  It's good. 21 - 21.

(10 mins. later...)

<Dave R> 28 - 21 Pats.

(10 mins. later...)

<Dave R> 28 - 28.

After which Shawn leaves work, without clocking out, to go watch the rest of the 4th quarter at Mcdonalds to watch the Colts COME BACK AND WIN!!!

Yeah, not so fast.

:::::ROCK::::

I only Wish I could have been at the convention center to watch that game tonight.

That was one of the best football games I've ever seen.  Period.

With a game like that, I put my money on the Colts to go all the way.

I was so happy to wipe that smug grin off Tom Brady's face.

Was any other Pats fan irriatated when Peyton did his post game interview all sweaty in AFC championship gear and saying all the right things and Brady comes out freshly showered and wearing a prissy white button down shirt? I'm not solely blaming him for the loss of course, as no team should expect to win a playoff game when they allow 32 second half points, but still, as the leader of this team and the sports icon of the region I expected him to look a little more disheveled and sound a little more disappointed.

59 mins...

sigh.

On the plus side, go go Bears! <3. Did anyone else who watched the Bears game get the feeling that Lovie payed off the refs before hand? So many questionable calls went in their favor. With a QB like Rex, I'll take it any way I can, but sheesh.

Seriously, with eyes THAT big, how did he KEEP missing the ball?

Gah. I hope Peyton loses to the Bears, as no respectable AFC team would ever lose to the NFC (anymore) in the Superbowl. People need to seriously stop mentioning him and Brady in the same sentence. It's simple folks; One has three rings, one has none.

There is a big difference between MISSING and DROPPING.

As like 20 of us from Chicago were on our way back from Costa Rica on Sunday, we missed the Bears game because our flight to Dallas left 45-50 mins after the game started.  The pilot, being from Chicago, was nice enough to give us updates every quarter.   Razz

then our flight from Dallas to Chicago got delayed....they started boarding the plane with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter.  They called First Class, Business platinum members, then group 2, group 3, etc...nobody got on the plane.  Finally the   attendant just said that everyone could board once the game was over.   Very Happy
