I think its important to note that Feinstein rescheuled his tournament to be on Festivus. I will be trying to find an aluminum pole to bring and there will be an airing of grievances. Also hopefully some brave volunteer will attempt to wrestling Feinstein to the ground for the feats of strength. ITS A FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US Very Happy

Someone watches Seinfeld too much :p

I've returned from the store and posted the updated flyers.  I'll have one in here soon.  Again I'm sorry to those who planned for tomorrow instead of next Sunday.  The weather really put me in a pickle and rescheduling to next week is what I believe to be the best scenario.  Even with the late notice, no one should be at risk driving next Sunday.  That's what matters most to me.

So again I appreciate the support.  I've messaged/called/emailed at least 40 different people by now and hopefully everyone knows.  If you're reading this and know someone who may show tomorrow because they didn't read this thread, please let them know about the one week postponement.

My entire staff + dealer will all be on hand for the rescheduled tournament on 12/23.  You have all been tremendous in supporting me and I look forward to FINALLY :p being able to run this Next Sunday.

See you then.

- Dave

I'm so happy this tournament got rescheduled.  One reason is I have finals the 17th and 18th and wasn't going to be able to make it.  Second, attendance would be butchered not to mention the risk factor with the bad weather we are supposed to get.  I'll update some posters to put around campus to alert everyone about the change to this.  By the way Feinstein, I still have the emperor strikes back from you, It's in my car so I dont forget it for this tournament, I'll give it to you then.

Anywho, I should be there the 23rd.  Look forward to seeing everyone there!

I also went to great lengths to run this so you can imagine how I felt being forced to postpone it.

Still, there's no doubt that people traveling would've been putting themselves and others at risk.  It took me an hour just to get my car out of the driveway.  I would've been roughly an hour and a half late and I live 12 minutes away.  I don't even want to think about the kind of obstacles someone driving far away would've had to deal with.  So again, I am sorry for the inconvenience it caused but postponing it was the right call.

If you're not able to make it for this Sunday I completely understand, but things are looking good so hopefully I'll see you there.

Mother Nature:  Pwned.

Dave Feinstein:  I rescheduled.

Mother Nature:  Oh.

Dave Feinstein:  Yeah.  You gave me no choice, but you're risking our relationship with these stunts.

Mother Nature:   I'm so sorry!  I'll be good to you this weekend.  Forgive me?

Dave Feinstein: OK.  *grumbles*

That conversation ensures no more weather problems for my tourney.  Mother Nature appears to be holding up her end of the deal with this Sunday looking like 48 degrees with some rain... and NO SNOW.  :p

sweet I can go to this now!  Smile

Glad to hear it.  I'm going all out for this one.  My staff is showing up in full force and I've just confirmed my head Judge to be Jeremy Smith, who is a long time area judge and one of the best.  Coupled with my same dealer coming, I'm very very much looking forward to this weekend.

I don't want to give away all my surprises but I have alot planned for this weekend I just need the people to come.

You are the people... come :p

The noon start time is set in stone so please, please, please get there by 11:45 at the absolute latest.  I have to get the show on the road promptly at noon and will so just give yourself time to get here.  The weather should cooperate.

Mother Nature: I will! *sobs*
Dave Feinstein: Silence!

That's it for now.  See you Sunday.

I have been informed that 2 normally out of towners will be coming in.  They are both closely associated with some magic cards, so rather than show those cards and make it easy to guess, I came up with these very subtle hints:

      and

I went to great lengths to conceal the identities of those mystery players but if you manage to guess them then you are a true codebreaker.

I'm still getting random calls from people telling me they're coming in for this.  That makes me feel warm and fuzzy.  :p

I'm basically ready to get the show on the road.  Just working on getting people some cards.  If you happen to be short a card or two despite the 15 proxies I wouldn't panic.  My dealer is bringing a ton of stuff and multiple people to help him plus I will have some things on me.  In other words, I'll do everything I can to help you finish your deck on-site if it's an issue.

Also last reminder: This starts at noon.  Deck Reg ends at 11:45.  I strongly advise bringing your list filled out ahead of time, Here's the decklist link again:

http://www.wizards.com/DCI/downloads/DecklistConstructed.pdf

Please double check your lists to make sure they are legal and try to have your proxies listed on the sheet.  I usually do asterisks next to mine but as long as I know what you proxied then it's not a big deal. There will be deck checks (for real this time :p) and getting a penalty for a mis-registered deck is the easiest one to avoid.  Just check them before you hand them in.  If you have a question about your list ask me first =D

That's really it.  I'm headed down to the store to help people test.  I really am looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces from my past events and hopefully meeting some new ones.

Thanks again for all of the interest and see you Sunday.

- Dave Feinstein

Top 8 split each getting $125, and shockingly enough multi mono red decks made it in.

it was the night before the night before Christmas and all through the house, nothing was stirring...

except for Feinstein's Final Mox Tournament  =D

43 people showed for my tourney.  It was very enjoyable for me and I was able to give out everything advertised and then some.  Tourney was smooth for the most part.  Some bumps early when DCI reporter exploded, but people took it well.

I was however forced to dance a jig during the delay :p

The top 8 was extremely strong.  ELD, Brassman, Rich Shay, T00l, Rich Meyst, Master Tap (the dead man), Marc Tuttle (the future) and James Hangley all decided to split but play it out for some side money and bragging rights.  With a top 8 that good I don't blame them.  Truly one of the strongest top 8's player-wise that I've ever seen, and many spectators agreed.

Deck-wise, It ended up being 4 gat and 4 mono red, with the finals having mono red workshop aggro being represented by Rich Meyst, facing GAT being represented by Rich Shay.  The Rich on Rich waterbury winner final was pretty epic, with Rich Shay being the victor.

Despite 4 GAT/4 mono red in top 8, the field was varied.  Fair amounts of oath, ichorid and workshop aggro.  Some smatterings of fish and goblins (wonder who lent those out :p)

I'll have a very detailed report going up soon with plenty of pics and all top 8 decklists, but now I must sleep for I am exhausted.

I was very happy to have this be my last tournament.  I really had a blast and my hope is everyone else did.
I deeply appreciate the interest shown in my tourney and thank those who came from the bottom of my heart.  <3

Thanks again and report going up soon.

Actually, James was playing 5c Stax. I had a less than impressive showing, getting 17th with my trusty R/G hate deck, losing to Rich Shay, ELD, and Jeff Cunningham. Other than the Feinstein jig, highlights included me swinging with a Greater Gargadon in a vintage game for the win and watching Rich Shay doing Tog math 3 times, only to have it messed up by a Lightning Bolt and Pyrokinesis, but me still losing that game.

All in all, a wonderful tournament even with the problems early on. I give it 2 thumbs up and hope that maybe one day, there will be another fun Feinstein tournament.
