Wall of blossoms shifted to white
This guarantees Walls' dominance in Standard, and subsequently the death of Magic.

Walls will be the least interactive deck ever and the mirror match will also be the most boring thing that has ever happened.

RIP MTG

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a while; magic has survived worse things than some walls, like affinity and tarmogoyf. I’m sure there will be enough stuff to deal with walls if it seems like a problem. Of the top of my head: flying, intimidate, and considering the low mana cost of most walls, if they printed some sort of instant speed mass smother that’d do the trick… oh wait they’ve got that one spoiled.

Magic has survived Fallen Empires, how much worst can it get?

Bah, the Dark had Maze of Ith, Scarecrow (comboed with Moat back then), Stone Calendar, Ball Lightning, Blood Moon, Inferno, Scavenger Folk, Tormod's Crypt, and Eater of the Dead (which vexed the templating committee no end).  There's no way it's worse than Homelands.  Homelands had Merchant Scroll and Memory Lapse and that's it.  Don't throw Autumn Willow in my face, she was over-costed, useless baggage.

So, we don't know where the source of this new format information is coming from? It could be all a hoax for all we know.

Fuckin' Homelands.  How do they work?

So far, the forecasters are predicting that this putative new format is probably going to endure a horrible, Storm-ridden combo winter for quite some time.  Some of those 'good-enough' Tendrils decks pretty much only lose stuff they don't really have to have in a format without Force of Will, like Lion's Eye Diamond.  No FoWn, no Homelands... fuck man.

It's just some random dude, but since it sounds vaguely credible people have been freaking out over it.  It could be legit, but it's funny how people will jump all over a rumor.

I liked old extended that included urza block a lot more than after urza block rotated.  However reliable the data, I like the idea of an old extended.

Hypothetically, if such a format turned out to not be a rumor, I think they would have a banned list to prevent storm decks from becoming totally dominant.

Well, I really hope this thing is not true. GP Madrid and all the other Legacy side events at other GPs this year shows that there are a lot of people interested in Legacy.

So I don't think there is a need for a new format. Unless of course they are really planning to make this new format Extended and Standard level.

I would worry more about dredge. The legacy competitive legacy version uses only cards from masques +

sort of, in legacy the ichorid hate is about 3-4 sideboard cards because of the speed of the format and speed of the deck. if this format is ever created and ichorid gets hated properly (6 cards) then whats to keep combo elves in check?, the only vintage cards it won't have are lotus, emerald, cradle, and priest of titania. of those only the priest are really going to be missed.
If 6 cards in your side board go to elves, 6 cards go to ichorid, then you have a whopping three card sideboard for everything.
Legacy merfolk/threshold would also be 99% legal. (no FoW, wasteland, -using ravnica duals)
A very good affinity list could be made.
Belcher might work.
I think flash hulk might be legal too as flash was in 6th (although it may need to have been in 7th)
Theres no way they would do this.

Interesting point, Median.  6th came out in the middle of Urza's Block.  Would it be included or not is a big deal (if there's any truth to this at all in the first place).  6th had the topdeck tutors.  Those are the backbone of eternal gameplay.  Fast mana has replacements.  Dual lands have replacements.  But the topdeck tutors do not.  If such a format comes out lacking 6th edition, I predict it would fail.

Peace,

-Troy

(honestly, though, I don't know if I believe any of this stuff about a new format yet)

Ohhh, cool. Thank you Very Happy

The Ancestral Recall looks amazing, but i still like more the original artwork of lotus and timetwister.

The original Black Lotus artwork just looks so... majestic and beautiful Smile
And the original timetwister looks "normal", but best than the alt one... that looks too... twisted and ugly.

But i do like more the alt artwork from A.Recall, its just look more like its name in the alt artwork.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the other two, but that Ancestral is amazing.  The Timetwister is actually pretty cool.  I love Tedin's work.

I'd guess they'd do drain, bazaar, and workshop.  By then, t1 will probably be extinct

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

Google found me a site easily when that was first posted. I don't remember the address, I was just looking for images of the boxes themselves, not really trying to order.

Elspeth vs. Tezzeret Duel Decks

I was pretty shocked to see the above.  It will be pretty interesting whether:
1) Elspeth replaces Ajani Goldmane as the white Planeswalker in M11 (in which case there will be an increase in supply of Elspeths).  Alternatively if she's not in M11 she'll shortly rotate out of standard.
2) Her card in this deck is 'Knight-Errant', or whether it's a preview of a new card for her from Scars.
3) Tezz's card in this deck is 'The Seeker', or whether it's a preview of a new card for him from Scars.
4) Tezz's deck previews some broken artifact from Scars.
5) Tezz's deck reprints some non-reserve list (obviously) but in-demand artifact.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.
