I am still quite suspicious about the new sword, but it does seem like a reasonable card for them to sell SOM with, assuming a power level similar to SOLS/SOFI.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.
Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops. I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Also, with almost no support there's a claim that 'Sword of Body and Mind' will be the name of the SOM preview card included in FTV:R. And... Stoneforge Mystic gets better. If it gives pro-green and generates card advantage millions of Tarmogoyfs out there will start crying.

Which barely saw play once they printed Jitte. True, but you can only play one Jitte in EDH, which is where my primary interest in a new sword lies. Additionally, as I said, pro-green could be huge for Legacy, due to the Tarmogoyf 'problem'.

Which barely saw play once they printed Jitte. I think Goyf and Knight of the Reliquary don't usually give a shit about Jitte. If you're playing a deck which can fetch Pro-Goyf material then really all you probably have to look out for is Pridemage and make sure he's good and dead (or ugh, Pithing Needle'd I guess) before you put your tech on the table. My favorite deck just got a new shiny. EDIT - What the fuck? From M11... Hornet Sting G Instant Common Hornet Sting deals 1 damage to target creature or player. It's not a game changer, but why the fuck is it Green?

This is for casual players Right, because only a casual player would want an Instant 1-mana answer to things like Goblin Lackey or Dark Confidant in a color that didn't really have proactive answers against them before. I take it back; this might be budget player's sideboard tech. Mono Green Aggro can now ping dorks that might matter or go to the face for the hilarious win.

Yeah, I didn't say it was amazing. I just said they could. There's enough relevant x/1 guys that Do Good Things that a little kid with an Elf deck would want to kill somehow, and what better way than Green's shitty shitty Lava Dart? I guarantee at least one person that goes to TMD.com will lose to a Hornet Sting

One copy in a Cunning Wish sideboard will eventually get the job done. And what a glorious moment that will be. I kind of wish Hornet Sting drew 3+ cards if it killed a player. Then it would be one of the greatest multiplayer cards ever.

Im surprised nobody has brought this up yet:
Will Jace 2.0 be in M11? I think its a 50-50 shot.
The fact that he's $70 irl and $90 on mtgo makes me hope that we'll get him. I know that M11 was made and set before Worldwake even came out, but I think that the good people at WoTC aren't as dumb as the Banned/Restricted list leads us to beleive. I have to think they knew how dominant and expensive he'd be, as a mythic in a set that barely got drafted. Also, M11 is really crazy powerful and WoTC seems to want to go all out with it, and having jace 2.0 would certainly accomplish that.
On the other hand, I can also see why he wouldn't be. Jace 2.0 wasn't even too expensive until Rise came out, Ajani and Garruk remain the same as they've been in the past, and Jace 1.0 seems like much more of a casual player's card, and ultimately, coresets are for the casual player.
Anywho, it seems 50-50 to me, but I'm leaning on the side of "Yes", since LVS, who "predicted" hidden treasure also predicted Jace 2.0.
Guess we'll see in a few days

Sword of Vengeance 3 Artifact - Equipment Rare Equipped creature gets +2/+0 and has first strike, vigilance, trample and haste.
Equip 3 When wielded by a true believer, it matters little whether the sword is a relic or a replica Illus. Dan Scott #216/249

Mystifying Maze Land Rare : Add 1 to your mana pool 4, : Exile target attacking creature an opponent controls. At the beginning of the next end step, return it to the battlefield tapped under its owner's control. Illus. Robh Ruppel #226/249 This seems kind of interesting. Perhaps Maze of Ith outclasses this in every way for eternal formats...but. Maybe fish decks can stifle the return to play thing. :/

This is probably most relevant against Iona. That said...this thing is no surprise: an Oath player needn't attack into it.

The "Ivory Mask" Leyline is officially Leyline of Sanctity. Unfortunately, the ORIGINAL version of Jace will be in M11. Also: Stormtide Leviathan Creature - Leviathan Islandwalk All lands are Islands in addition to their original type. Creatures without flying or islandwalk can't attack. 8/8 Manic Vandal Creature - Human Warrior When Manic Vandal enters the battlefield, destroy target artifact. 2/2 Garruk's Companion Creature - Beast Trample 3/2

Playable...maybe. The issue is that barring a realistic CC for Aether Vial (since cc 3 means I can't drop it before turn 4), other goblins like Tinkerer, Vandal, or Tin-Street Hooligan will always be situationally better. I honestly believe that if they printed the card I'm suggesting below, Goblins and Oath would be the only tier 1 strategies in the format. Ronom Goblin Creature - Goblin Sacrifice Ronom Goblin: Destory target artifact. 2/2
