We should have at least a carload of Clevelander's representing.  Will there be post-tournament Primanti Brothers feasting as well?

Post tournament feasting at Primanti Brothers, count at least a carload coming out from philly in, let the grudgematch resume.

I figured I didn't need even need to mention Primanti's... it's just a given Smile
I'm hoping Ron and Holli will be able to join us afterward as well....For those that haven't heard, Ron and Holli had the baby. A beautiful little girl; I believe her name is Luna.

(So if you're reading this, Congrats again Dad!)

Ok, The date is officially set in stone!
First is a Mox Jet!
Ron is still trying to get the rest of the prize support ironed out, but he does like the idea of keeping the color theme like the last event;

so I would imagine some pretty awesome black vintage playables...

We had 39 players at the first event; if we can match or break that, expect some REALLY sweet prizes!

I figured I'd give this a nudge to the top...

If you are planning on coming from out of town and need any of the following: Directions, information on accomodation, places to eat ....

please feel free to ask, here or in a PM is fine.

(Depending on the amount of people, I may be able to offer a place to stay as well)

At the last event, we had quite a rivalry going between the Pittsburgh, Ohio and Philly crew...

Who's planning on throwin' down at this?

The store owner, Ron, bought one of my Grim Tutors to use as a potential prize and I know he has an Imperial Seal he wants to give away, too.  After seeing the crispy mint-condition prizes he gave out last time, I know this is going to be one of the best tournaments ofthe season.

It's so nice to have a Magic tournament in a well equipped store that's actually clean!  I've played in so many "holes", but Mr. Nice Guy games is just a much nicer gaming store.

This is going to be freakin' awesome.

I really wish this wasn't so far away, seems like it is gonna be a good tournament. Why does KY have to be so far away from everything?

Talked to Ron:
2nd IS an Imperial Seal
3rd - 4th Grim Tutors....

If we crack 32 then 5th-8th will be added!

This is getting better and better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, So just when the prize support get's insane and I think it can't get any better, Christopher Moeller has agreed to come for a signing!!!!

Christopher Moeller has done Vintage favorites Meddling Mage and Umazawa's Jitte, Triskelion and Seal of Cleansing !

In addition, he has done some other iconic arts: Pernicious Deed, Isamaru, Hound of Kondor, Twincast and Copper Leaf Angel, to name a few.

-Also, I have had confirmation of folks (and carloads) attending from Philly, State College, Ohio, Baltimore, New York, West Virginia and Colorado! Don't miss out on what's shaping up to be one of the top events of the season.

This is the SECOND time Ron has organized a Vintage tournament to occur on the same day as my Legacy events I organize in Bloomfield. So once again...we'll have a crap turn out because we've been outdone.

#1 Our event was planned well before yours. (October 1st, 14 days prior to yours being posted.)
#2 Your tournament is a completely different format. (Welcome to the Vintage forums though)
#3 As a grown man, Store owner and TO, it is EXTREMELY childish and immature to make such a post.
#4 I am the partly reponsible for the date as well; yet you'd personally attack Ron. When our event was planned and posted, there were NO other events posted on the date.

#5 You offered a Mox Saphire as a prize for one of your Legacy events, with no other events happening that day; you still had a very poor turn out. So I think it is VERY unfair to blame a "crap turn" out on us. As well, being "out done."

I apologize to everyone for not keeping this to PM, but it is tiring of being 'attacked' for posting our event the same day as others. -There were NO other events posted on Nov. 22nd when we decided to run this.
In addition, I am not going to leave a post attacking Myself, Ron or his Shop go unspoken.

#1 If you event was planned on the 1st, why did you wait until the 29th to post about it? Had you posted on the 1st, I could've scheduled around it and avoided this conflict of date/times.
#2 Actually, according to WotC we're the same format. Eternal. Just different sides of the same format. And I've been in Vintage for a long time, just can't get back into it since selling my collection several years ago.
#3 I'm not the store owner, just the guy pushing the Legacy events to attempt to get some strong interest locally in Eternal formats.
#4 This is the second time this has happened. The first time it happened, I know for a fact my event was planned and announced prior to your's and Ron's - because I was in his store when he was on the phone trying to decide on how many proxies to permit and how to structure the prizes.
#5 That was partly my fault for pushing for such a large prize and a sanctioned event without first testing the waters. And notice I didn't bring that up - only our previous August Legacy event that was run concurrent to your Vintage.

And you should look at dates. When you posted your tournament on 10/29/08, our tournament had already been announced and posted on 10/13/08. We announced/posted 15 days prior to you, and this looks very suspicious is all I'm saying.

I'm not trying to attack anyone. But when I plan an event, post information about it, and then a few weeks later another local store posts another event with better prize support on the same date and time...it makes me seriously think about not even bothering to host events anymore if I'm constantly going to be, by my preception, 1-up'd by a better supplied store. Especially when it happens twice in four months.

Attacking someone in a public forum is obviously the best way to resolve a conflict.  No wonder nobody shows up to your events.

RitNecroWin posted the event on October 1st. 4:00pm.  That's why these posts have time stamps.  Learn 2 Forums imo.

I apologize then. I received a text regarding this event last night, and then found the post here on SCG with a time stamp of 10/29/08. I had (wrongly) assumed the time stamp on TMD was 10/29/08, since many people (myself included) announce events on different websites at the same time for the best amount of exposure.

May I suggest that in the future we maintain an open line of communication between myself, yourself, and Superior Sports Cards so as not to host conflicting events on the same date? Perhaps even organizing a more rapid hosting of events (perhaps 1 or 2 a month at various venues?)?

I was in the wrong, and I won't make that mistake again. Tonight I'll discuss with the owner of CCGs about rescheduling my event a week back (the 29th). Hopefully better coordination can prevent this confusion in the future.

I mean, while I am obviously not going to back ron or his store for those that know, Brian did have this posted or at least announced to other people a long time before this legacy was announced, I have been trying to play both more 1.5 and t1 so i think I am pretty good checking for events in pitt.

The end of the month has both Brian's event and then mine a week later so November is busy, and I think based on the prizes being substantial, there is a need for ya to do extensive research on posting dates Solarian. I changed mine a few times cause it was my first time planning one and having to plan around other large events that people in Pitt go to (ohio events, SCG $5ks, etc)

You dont see me be peacekeeper much, but seriously, the T1 event was here first as far as i know

ZOMG!!!!!! Nat "I goldfish Belcher 4 hours a day" Moes might make the drive! BAAAOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can count on Cleveland to show up for some Wu Tang sword swinging action!

There is more hype building for this tourney than when the Asian delegation drafted the RZA, GZA, ODB, and the rest of the Wu Tang clan.

First, it's more like five hours a day, sometimes more.

Second, if anyone wants a ride out of DC/NoVA, send me a PM.  I'm planning on leaving around 8 a.m. if you want to throw in for gas money.  Looking forward to it!

I've heard through the grapevine that some players are interested in having the OSU vs Michigan game on during the tournament.  Also, the same players are interested in having a cookout (burgers, hot dogs, etc.).

Brian, what do you think of this?

A cookout would be the nutz!

Just picture how awesome it would be to man the grill in one of these bad boys.

We could use all of Meandeck's decks as kindling. That way they wouldn't be filling up landfills.

I am going to have to talk to the store owner, Ron Kotwica. If he's cool with it, I will try and bring a smallish Television to put downstairs (I would want it mutted out of respect for the players) Also, in terms of a grill and food, I think that sounds like fun, but again it would need cleared with Ron. In addition, I'm not sure of the legality of having the grill out front of a buisness in Oakmont.
If it's not ok with the Ron, I would say depending on when your getting into town, you would be more than welcome to tailgate in my parking lot 15 minutes away.

@Twaun.. You won't be burning Mean-decks, just your entry fee when you scrub Wink

I have been getting some emails regarding the artist Christopher Moeller, who will be in attendance. Many people are wondering where they can find a complete list of his work. Here you go: http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/index.aspx?term=christopher%20moeller&Field_Artist=on&setfilter=All%20sets

I can't stress how COOL Chris is. I have been fortunate enough to talk to him and his agent. You can really tell he has a passion for the arts and for his fans! It is very AWESOME of him to attend.

Remember to bring any cards you'd like signed and keep in mind he will have Artist Proofs and Prints for sale!

I can't wait for this weekend. If the same thing happens that did last time prize support is going to be incredible. Certainly going to be a spectacle with Smoke and Guns next door!
This really should be a good time. Certainly one of the best venue's that I have played in.
