Another good showing with 14 players overall.
Top four consisted of ELD playing his usual list (Time Vault and other such things), Chris playing Barry's Ichorid list, Micah playing his Painter/Bomberman mix, and another person I'm not sure (there were three 3-1s).

Your statement about my deck is incorrect. My list was actually taken from a different tourney report and then I tweaked a few things. Me and Barry actually compared at one point. As expected most of the deck IS the same like everywhere, but the only thing I directly took from Barry was Revielark, with his blessing. YOU were actually one of my matches so I'm surprised you of all people thought that.

I'll blame it on the fact that I zone out when playing Ichorid since it's entirely uninteractive if you don't have a hate piece on the board.  I do recall you have Chalice which I know Barry doesn't play.

Ah ha! You proved me right, in the end! :-p You did see a notable difference. I just take offense to someone posting to everyone that I net decked someone, in the same weekly tournament no less.

Just to clarify further, what happened was: One day, as usual, Sundering Jerk was complaining about Dredge and how easy it is to play and how cheap it is to build. So that started me thinking; I should build it for playtesting amongst our team, for practice. So I went on the Scholars thread and saw the debate going on about dredge, and opted to check out the tourney report that someone said to check out. I read it for quite a while and there was actually 2 dredge decks in that tourney. I ended up liking the build of the person who didn't write the report better. Then from there I took that list and "made it my own". Then last week, Barry showed me how good revielark is and so I decided to make a cut for it. And that's my story of how I made my dredge build, which has close to nothing to do with "playing Barry's Ichorid list" Again not yelling at you, buddy, just kinda take offense at claiming I just swiped someones list.

I dispute this one.  It's totally possible to FoW at Breakthrough, and assemble your combo.  I've also managed to buy time by running out Gorilla Shaman and keeping Ichorid at bay, forcing them to build up zombies slowly, which then can get wrecked by Echoing Truth.  One of the more important cards I've found vs Dredge is Sensei's Divining Top.  It keeps key cards away from Cabal Therapy, and the filtering is extremely important in a match up where there can be so many dead draws.  That said, Chalice is a must counter G1 on the draw, as you really need your acceleration to keep up with them.  Top isn't so how when you're dropping one mana source a turn, but when you've got multiple moxen and fetchlands, you're going to give yourself a good chance to hit your outs.  In the dredge match up, it's definitely all about card quality, not quantity.

You'll note that I took my list almost card for card from someone else, so I don't find it to be a negative.  It's much more how you pilot the list.  But my comment was more the fact that someone with Ichorid managed to top 4 at Scholars.  Impressive feat considering everyone who plays there knows at least one person will be playing it, and should be prepared via sideboard for it.

$250 dollars worth of foils does not mean you just threw it together.  Sad I knew you were gunna play it this week, cause the foils were calling to you.

I know you didn't netdeck, but it's not like netdecking is a bad thing at a weekly tournament. It's a way to get experience before tweaking the list into your own, and it's a way to give other players a feel for the matchup, plus with ichorid it doesn't make a world of difference. (yup, still complaining)

I agree 100% with everything the last 3 posts say. Like I mentioned from the beginning, I have no issues against net decking, I just felt that I had my own victory for my time spent tweaking, but it was posted as simply just running Barry's list.

Someone misplaced an ELD Proxy at last Monday's event.  If someone is missing one, it is sleeved and numbered, so it should be easy to identify.  You can contact me to claim it. (PM, IM, Facebook, Email, Phone - I'm not hard to find)

Bill dropped a card, but he believes it was an underground sea. But if it's a purple sleeve it's his. But I think he only has a ELD Twist.

By Sundering Jerk: "This was fun, I'm thinking of holding a tourney myself to get rid of my power this summer"

Wow, to get this going I would be willing to donate a playset of 4th edition islands autographed by myself to the prizepool.  Mabey you can autograph a brainstorm and if were really lucky, Smmenen will autograph a swamp to go to the first place finisher.

Ryan was indeed slinging some cardboard once again.  They were actually Pokemon cards, turned into Magic Proxies :p  We had several new faces this week, and we were only 1 person away from the 17+ mark needed to qualify for the Vintage Rankings!  That person could be you!  We've been getting so close to the mark every week, and we've already hit it once.  If you're in the area, the best way to spend a Monday night is at Scholar's!

OK. So I scoped out that link. I thought we made it 1 week, but don't see any of those people on there. Also, does TMDO not count as well?

@everybody
I'll be at one of these next month, (probably the one on May the 4th ) so if anybody would like to face me and get their ass kicked by this dutchie or just meet up and chat be sure to come to that event !

@ELD,
Very good to see you doing these events and that you're getting a nice turnout every week, these types of events are great for introducing new players to the format and I've been thinking about starting something like this up myself.

Nick has been working on his GW deck for a while now.

He played it at the TMD open...I'm pretty sure Steve posted his decklist.
